Jacquie runs a perfect B&B. Breakfast was cooked to order and she made every effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. She even made a wonderful take away breakfast (with additional snacks) for us since we had an unusual earl flight when we checked out. As I read other reviews, I felt I needed to remind some people that this is a Bed and Breakfast, NOT commercial chain hotel. Yes, there is a long staircase to the upper most room, but isn't the point of staying at a B&B to experience the variety of different decor and how people have ingeniously modified their homes to make guests comfortable? Jacquie's son was available to bring our luggage up the stairs and did it cheerfully. The sitting room featured comfortable seating and you are surrounded by many original paintings by her sister and son and a few artists you should discover yourself. the location is near perfect. There is a fine dining restaurant a short walk up the street, a fine pub with excellent food and a beer garden on one corner, and fire house pizza on the other. Across the street from the pub is the DART rail line that will take you downtown Dublin is 15 minutes. there is also a beautiful park with a cycling track, and of course the beach just the other side of the DART line. BTW, for US visitors there is a pharmacy at #81 that will get you a certified COVID test to meet your 24 hour requirement to return to home. We will go again, but maybe pack a little lighter next time.

I stayed one night to facilitate my appointment in Blackrock Clinic. My attic room was located on the second floor necessitating a steep climb up the narrow Victorian staircase. The cost was €120 with payment by cash or Revolut the only options. Most certainly over priced for the standard of the facilities offered. There was no mirror in the room and whilst a hairdryer was provided there was no plug other than the extension lead which feed power to the kettle. I had to wait outside for 15 mins after a phone call to the owner to return to enable my 3pm check in. Breakfast I would rate poor with food laying out long enough for the bread to become dry and hard on the shared dining table, with poor quality bacon and blackened sausage. This was surprising at the time of a pandemic. Whilst there is reference to toiletries provided no hand cream, body lotion or shower cap is included. The shower is dated as is the decoration. Whilst there is a flat screen tv, there is also a satellite box and copious instructions to contend with to watch a tv channel. The coffee provided at breakfast was good.

I would simply ask readers to see this review in the context of all the excellent reviews we have received. This guest seemed unhappy from the start and so the review does not surprise me but thank you for reviewing all the same

Probably the best B&B in Ireland I've ever stayed in. It's a beautifully restored Victorian home with some modern twists. Bedroom was warm and cosy and the bathroom was elegant and airy. I received a very warm welcome. Had a great night's sleep followed by the best breakfast ever; so many choices of hot and cold offerings. Simply divine! You'll be hard pushed to find anything better (even in a 5-star hotel).

Last Thursday my wife and I traveled South to celebrate her birthday and choose Blackrock B&B for our first nights stay, as it was convenient to both Dublin and Dun Laoghaire where we had events to attend. We were delighted with our choice as our host Jackie provided us with the most fabulous accommodation, breakfast and hospitality. Our room was very large luxurious, warm and most comfortable. We will make it our first choice for any future stays in the Dublin are.

We were booked into this B&B for one night only, which was a pity as it totally blew me away. The B&B was so nice. The room had an on-suite and it just suited us to the ground, we were in the attic room and it was quiet and dark. I love these types of rooms. It was neat & tidy. Breakfast was nice & the landlady was nice. The stairs are quite steep especially when you don't feel like climbing stairs. The only downside was parking, the only parking that is available is on-street. I wish I could have stayed longer.

This was an amazing B&B to stay in. Hosts were so friendly and accommodating. I strongly recommend using this B&B and would gladly stay here again and am tempted to come back to Dublin for a visit with my family and stay here. Location is also perfect for getting into town, which is just a short train ride away using the station 5minutes walk away. Also a good local pub and restaurant right nearby 😀👍

The room we stayed in was really cute and clean, also the whole house. Braekfast was super cool each morning. The lady who was in charge of the house was always professional and kind to us and we felt like home thanks to her and her behaving. Her family was great too. All people in the house were kind and caring so we would like to THANK THEM for it and definitely recommend this hotel to book! Also the train station was close to the house (3min) and great pub too. To Dublin center it is 10 min by train.

I have worked away from home midweek in Cork, Dublin, Austria, and other places around Europe. I have always stayed in B&B's or hotels and I have to say this is by far the most cosy and comfortable place I have stayed in across my travels. The owners of the B&B are so welcoming and make sure your stay is comfortable, which makes a long term stay which I have had go perfectly. I stayed here mon-fri for 8 months, and I have not had 1 complaint about this place. The breakfast is amazing to!! I have stayed all over Dublin, and I would recommend this place over all. Location is perfect, 1 minute walk to the dart station, the beach, shop/pub, and park. Beautiful location and B&B, couldn't recommend enough.

I don't know if I can say enough great things about our stay at Blackrock! My husband and I stayed here in February of 2019 for almost a week. We were greeted by Jacquie with the most amazing scones and tea. Our room was warm and clean and had wonderful light from the huge windows. We stayed in the room on the second floor, next to the street. The next day when we returned, not only was our room clean but we had chocolate and a bottle of wine, which was really thoughtful. I'm not going to lie, I picked the place based on the recommendation of how amazing Jacquie's breakfasts were and they did not disappoint. She made a full Irish breakfast daily; I thought it may just be for our first morning but she did it happily ever day, along with pastries, fruit, cereal, milk, juice. It was insane and insanely good. My husband and I honestly didn't need another meal until dinner. She also gave us wonderful recommendations for meals out and a seaside down to visit after we got lost trying to find the mountains. Their house was a short walk (maybe 2 minutes at most) from the train station and about a block away from the bus to the airport. I can't begin to say thank you enough to Jacquie and her family, and there adorable dog for making our trip so fantastic. I will note that there were not a lot of tv channels if that is something you're looking for, but it was so quiet in our room I read an entire book. Jacquie also recommended a book to me that my book club and I absolutely loved, and I feel she would be glad to do the same for you. I really cannot say enough great things. Thank you again, Chelsea and Cory Cooper (KY)

Had an overnight stay. no next time for me . I'm very sensitive to chemicals and the moment I came in the house it reeked of room fragrance. The bedroom was fine but the bedsheets the pillowcases the blanket smelled of laundry scent I couldn't breathe. The restroom was the same. I felt like running out the door but my partner was tired from driving around Dublin with me to see the sights, arrived at this place at midnight. I told him to sleep and I was awake the whole night with my mask on sitting on a chair. Couldn't lie down with the strong smell. What a nightmare very upset.

So sorry to hear of your allergy to ‘chemicals’. The room scent is Puressential made only with natural essential oils, and it’s so good I buy it in France! The bed linens are conditioned with Lenor, and guests comment on their comfort and freshness! Sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay-yours is first negative review I have received!
