The premises are quite new and well built. There is an internal garden well kept. The manager tries to address all problems but in my opinion there is not enough staff especially cleaning staff. The rooms or apartments are randomly furnished and when we entered the rooms they smelled of smoke and dirty carpet. The carpet was the worst thing. In the hallways stairs and inside the rooms it was dirty, stained and smelly. It is not the property’s fault probably because students come and go very often and they probably drink and smoke even though you are not supposed to smoke. The wardrobes were dirty inside and without hangers. We stayed three weeks and they came only once to hoover the carpet in the main hallway and empty the garbage. Nothing else. We had to ask repeatedly for clean bed sheets and they were given to us only once in three weeks. Some bed sheets were brand new from the store and we couldn’t use them because they needed to be washed as they were full of starch and chemicals from the shop bag. We found silverware and dishes dirty as well as the drawers where they were kept. Microwave was broken. No glasses. We had to buy cleaning products and clean by ourselves. Windows were left open for three weeks because of the unpleasant smell. Other guests on another side of the building were attacked by youngsters from outside who threw stones to their windows.
Just because the guests are students doesn’t mean that they have all to be treated like you don’t care. I think that after we left the rooms were better than when we arrived. Please change the carpet and hire better cleaning people.

Erasmus at DCU, accommodation at GATEWAY STUDENT VILLAGE IN DUBLIN. Our daughter paid 746 € per month per person in a room to share 2 (15m2) .No bedding (duvet / cousin / courverture) -> purchase. No kitchen equipment -> purchase. Lack of cleanliness -> cleaning on arrival -> purchase of cleaning products. No electricity sufficient (10 € per week per person) -> not possible to heat the bathroom and the kitchen -> not possible to stay in the common premises -> obligation to stay in a super cold room. Promise of refund for early departure given by Peter during the reservation not held.Peter: I ask you the refund of 2 weeks, or 373.33 €, thank you. Marie Pire

People like you will never be pleased. Thankfully the vast majority of residents and visitors to Gateway Student Village know what we are and know that we provide a quality and a value for money service. We are not the problem, we would recommend you take a long look in the mirror. We do not want customers like you.

Security 0, Help 0, truly disappointing, I'd rather spend 500 euros on a simple hotel than in this gateway. The room checking Is poor, some bathrooms are broken, they don't let students report thefts.

Great place, typical Student Accommodation with great services. WiFi is very good. DCU is a 10 minute walk. They have bikes on site you can use and leave in DCU.Local shops include a big Supervalu super market. Dublin Airport is only 10 minutes away by car. IKEA is located near Gateway too.

Gateway is the perfect location if you want self catering apartments. We were a group of 6 and easily fitted into one of their three bedroom apartments. From the Airport Gateway is only ten minutes by taxi. You have a major super market, a chemist and many takeaway food places just across the street. From a security point of view it is located next to a Police station which makes the place very safe. Staff are excellent. WiFi is really good. Bus to City Centre stops outside Gateway and takes 25 minutes. The price is a little higher than the market, but really worth it. All in all a quality accommodation centre. It is a Student accommodation village, but it has very high standards and easily competes with similiar apartment rental developments. I highly recommened.

Gateway is the big off campus student accommodation campus for DCU. It is located in a great position only a 10 minute walk from DCU, it has a major shopping market Supervalu across the street open 7am to 11pm. There is also a Pharmacy and Pizza place acropss the road too. WiFi is high speed I easily got 300mb. They have car hire and bike hire on site. Vending machines and a Cash Point are all inside the Gateway Complex. The main bus route for the city center stops just outside. The place is very safe with a Major Police Station beside Gateway
The manager is very serious, but nice and welcoming, but does not allow parties or unreported visitors.

On the outside this student village doesn't seem much from the outside especially in Ballymun it does not appear to have much to offer but I was wrong very wrong its a jewel in the crown. Ballymun is up and coming and its good to see belief in this by organisations like the student village, hotels supermarkets fast-food chains and pharmacies can't understand bookies though they just bring the fabric of society down and they are everywhere and nothing to offer but grief. Anyway enough its about Gatway Student Village its clean, well equipped, safe, secure a d well managed by guys who are family guys themselves and understand parents issues and concerns. These guys have their clients interest at heart and love to bring new ideas to help make their student village that bit better for all. The grounds are immaculate and if I as a parent had this to offer my college going children I would be happy in the knowledge that they are safe secure in a place that offers value for money.

I stayed at Gateway whilst visiting Dublin City University (DCU). Gateway is very clean and apartments are spacious. WiFi was great. Located so close to DCU in fact it is only a ten minute walk from DCU. There is a Supervalu supermarket directly across the road which is very handy as the apartments are self catering.

They don't deal with thefts properly even though they have cctv everywhere. Constantly had issues with power and heating throughout the year. The second you pay the rent their hospitality and kindness is out the window. Don't recommend.

As I wrote in my review, we were given bedsheets the first day. We stayed three weeks though and had to insist that they be given again. Only once in three weeks. Towels are usually available in the hall downstairs. But I guess it depends on how you negotiate with the managers/owners. They are usually reasonable.

Hi for our summer bookings the answer is yes. For long term and/or academic year students linen and towels are not supplied.
