We were very pleasantly surprised by this lovely 2 bedroom apartment. It exceeded all our expectations. Both rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also very well finished and the shower was excellent, the also provided soap, shower gel and shampoo, a really lovely touch. It's within walking distance to most places in the main part of the city and also has a spar right around the corner. The only downside is that I had to leave a €250 holding deposit, that states will be refunded on checkout. We're now 24 hours in and I still haven't received it. I did email them directly yesterday evening to enquire about this, but as of yet, I still haven't had response. This is a real shame as everything else about this hidden jem was perfect.

We (fam of 4) stayed for 1 night only on our Ireland tour. We were given suite 6 which is spacious, and appointed to the back of the property where there is less (hardly any) traffic noise. Views from windows not great, but we could easily keep windows open without drowning in road noises, which is a big plus at this time a year. Suite nice and clean, and beds very comfortable. Shower & bath also very good. Dublin Connelly Station is just 5min walk down road, and there’s a Spar supermarket just downstairs and round corner, so all things considered, we reckon it very good value for money and would happily come back.

Five Lamps Suites was just around a 15/20 minute taxi journey from the airport. We arrived at 6pm to be let in by a female member of staff, who had kindly let in our two friends who had arrived just before us (key collection had been arranged in advance for this time). We put down a €250 damage deposit at check in which was not a surprise as this was in the apartment policies on Booking.com. The member of staff was very friendly and took us to our apartment (#3) which was very nice and modern with two equally nice bedrooms. We were given a set of keys each (two couples). Towels and toiletries were provided as well as a hairdryer and iron which we desperately needed for our crinkled dresses/suits for new year's eve! The flat was very nice and clean. We had no issues with it at all, other than it being quite noisy from the traffic at night. We were already provided with ear plugs when we checked in but I don't think the noise was too much of an issue for us, as we had drank a lot most nights and so were out cold in the early hours 😂 the beds were very nice and firm which was good for all our backs. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs, just to make breakfast in the morning and pizza/pasta two of the evenings. There was a Spar (corner shop) right next to the apartments, which was perfect for when we needed to buy food/alcohol. It is a straightforward walk to the centre (20/30 mins) and a 45 minute walk from the Guinness Storehouse which was perfectly okay as we wanted to see the sights whilst walking. We had a lovely stay and received our damage deposit back the next day (in full, minus the £€ exchange rate for that particular day). I would definitely stay again. One thing that I would suggest for the apartment would be to fit in another couch (or L shape couch) if possible , so that four people can comfortably sit/lounge in the living area without squeezing up together on the sofabed. Luckily the four of us are very close so it wasn't a real issue but it might be better for other guests to have two sofas. Thank you for letting us stay with you.

So I would stay here if I were a group of guys or a single guy, but this place is not for families in my opinion. We stayed for a week and it was OK in the rooms, but I was extremely anxious anytime we had to go out or return because of the neighbourhood.
Positives - large rooms that at first glance look really nice. Big halls all marble when you arrive. Kitchenette with oven, microwave, kettle, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Big beds. Toiletries (body wash and shampoo) Plenty of towels and Toilet roll. Key fob was easy to use to get in, quite a heavy door but this is a positive for the neighbourhood. Free laundry. Adaptors if you need them.
Negatives- Internet only works next to the TV which is up a height, no where else. If you move from the TV it didn't work at all. No signal. Needs a serious bleach and uplift, walls are chipped and splashed with stuff, mould and rust in the bathrooms, kickboards that when you open the dishwasher fall on your toes. Spotty hot water that runs out mid wash. Didn't matter what time of the day you tried it. Construction at the front and back which starts at half 6 am (Monday to Fri out back) on the front constantly and it's loud all the way down to the train station which is 15 minutes walk. No one on site at all if you have an issue and I had a man try to follow me on the building and reported it, it took 26 hours for the hotel to get back to me. Very bad neighbourhood with people trying to get in the building and begging, drunk, high and loud, scary for families. Smoking area looking into room 8 which is very off-putting for families with children. Top floor is hot but only one fan and thick duvets, no sheets. Windows don't lock and we had small children. So that was interesting. No lifts for pushchairs which wasn't an issue for us. Sofa bed was hard. Not easy to get to the town and a good 30 minute walk. Very rough areas to walk through to get to the hotel. On checking out lots of high drunk men gathering outside the door to the rooms and that was at 10.30am on a sunday. If I wasn't with my 300lb tall husband, I would never of felt safe staying here with my children.

Five Lamps Suites in Dublin offers an exceptional stay with its lovely, incredibly spacious apartments. The check-out process is seamless, and the building is immaculately maintained and highly secure. The convenient location and attentive staff make it a perfect choice for gigs in the point or games.

We were not aware that steps were involved in getting to our room but Michela helped us carry them. The mattress and pillows were not very comfortable and the curtains were broken and did not close easily. The neighborhood was not safe, as we were warned by people in the area to be careful with our belongings! We did not have hot water one morning when we had to leave early. On a positive note, we appreciated the flexibility in allowing us to store our luggage upon arrival and departure. It was not a good value for the price.

Stayed at 5 Lamps last week in a 2 bed apartment with our friends. 5 Lamps is accessed through a door between a charity shop and the Spar supermarket, not easy to find. The area that the suites are located in is very rundown. Some very dodgy characters loitering around and lots of rubbish everywhere. We didn’t feel safe going out, especially at night, so ended up staying in after dark. The apartment we had, looked fine initially, however, the dining table was very sticky feeling. I cleaned it with some hot soapy water and the cleaning cloth was very dirty when i’d finished. There were no instructions for the oven and we couldn’t get it to work on the fan setting. The dishwasher was not fitted properly and was loose, every time we opened the door on it the kickboard under the kitchen unit fell off. There is a microwave but no microwave dishes to use in it. The safety rail in the bath was loose and the shower head could not be tightened so it just flopped and sprayed onto the wall behind. There was also black mould on the shower screen. The views from the windows were very grim. From the living room we had the view of a courtyard full of junk furniture and the view from both bedrooms was of a derelict piece of land and a narrow road. We were told by the receptionist to park our car on this narrow road. We saw a group of people near our car one evening, we witnessed them taking drugs and they were drinking vodka from a bottle being passed round and smoking something they had rolled up themselves. Looking at the photos on the booking site, I would say these were taken some time ago,,probably when the apartments were newly refurbished. On a final note there is a €250 damage deposit to pay on arrival. We were told by the receptionist to pay by credit card and we would be reimbursed on the day of departure if there was no damage. It actually took 4 days to be repaid and we were charged nearly £10 in transaction fees. Not sure we’d visit Dublin again and definitely would not stay in such a rough area, just didn’t feel safe enough.

My Wife and I stayed here for a week over Christmas for our honeymoon. The suite was clean, cozy, and had everything we could have needed, including a full function kitchen with cookware and silverware. We were right in center of everything we needed in the city, but separated enough we could comfortably sleep with the window open. We walked almost everywhere from the suite, and the Uber to and from the Dublin airport was only about 10 minutes. There was only one customer service worker on site, but she was awesome, and you'd never know she was doing it alone. We felt incredibly safe, as the entrance to the building has a separate key given only to guests, along with the room key. There is a grocery store attached to the building, so it was always easy to grab food and emergency items. We will absolutely be returning.

Due to the restrictive rules for travellers to Ireland there were hardly any opportunities to go there since the beginning of the pandemic. Moreover, we are a family of five with two working adults and 3 children at school. We cannot just go on holidays when we want to. We have to request leave way beforehand and the children can only go in their school holidays. We booked an apartment through this company (canbe hospitality) twice and each time we could not go because of the Covid regulations in Ireland. Our voucher expires in May and the company sees no need in extending it or pay out maybe 50 per cent of the voucher amount. Canbe received almost 1,000€ for no service in return, we lost almost 1,000€. We cannot recommend booking through canbe hospitality at all.

Lovely stay in the five lamps suites, although the area feels challenging on the outside once you are inside the apartment you feel very secure. Basic apartment which suited our needs. Cooking equipment if needed. Would have preferred 2 single beds in second bedroom but that's a personal preference as we have 2 children. Good tv channel but kept losing connection at times. Location excellent for exploring Dublin.
