Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel staff are very warm and welcoming. The concierge on arrival is friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Check in process is efficient and quick. The rooms are really good size and the bathroom and shower are one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel. Toiletries and a bottle of water were supplied. The breakfast was outstanding with so much choice and not just your basic buffet that so many hotels do

We had two nights and 2.5 days at Lough Eske. We could have stayed two more. It's a beautiful property. We really liked our room that was right across from the spa, at which we had excellent massages and a great visit to the hot tub outdoors in the cool, rainy but delightful weather. The food served was of high quality. The servers were all kind and helpful. The entire staff was always ready with a smile and help with whatever we needed. We enjoyed the bar where we also had a nice snack and then a meal. The main restaurant is great for dinner. The room was spacious and comfortable.

A very enjoyable stay at Lough Eske Castle. Lovely staff and a beautiful location just on the Lough itself. Lots of walks to take and views to see. Very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful, would recommend.

This is a hotel and spa that greets you with the facade of a castle that hides the hotel behind. We booked a room that included dinner at the hotel restaurant and breakfast. The dinner, with its many courses, was excellent. At breakfast, we could order from a menu and the buffet. Our "room", which was not in the castle, was the size of a small one-bedroom apartment. It was very comfortable and included a complete bath. It was one of several similar ground-floor rooms across from the spa that greeted guests with their own entrances and gardens overflowing with flowers. Quite impressive! Our short stay did not allow us time to take advantage of the many spa choices. However, we did take two of the walks in the nearby countryside recommended by the hotel, which we enjoyed immensely. This hotel hosts a lot of weddings.

WOW! Hands down the best during our 16 day trip around the island. I wish we would’ve stayed more than one night. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. The dinner we had at The Cedars was phenomenal.

A beautiful castle in Donegal. The staff greets you as you pull up like something out of Downton Abbey! They wave farewell to you when you depart too! A gorgeous castle, with large comfortable rooms. Great dinner and breakfast. My husband and I are now spoiled for all future vacations!

Thoroughly enjoyed Lough Eske Castle from the room (delicious candy left on bed) to the grounds. So many areas to sit and enjoy friends' company or have a pint at Father Browne's Pub. Would not hesitate to recommend a visit when in the area, you won't be sorry.

Loved this hotel and property. Beautiful grounds and the castle is luxurious right down to the heated bathroom floors. The staff was very friendly and their service was excellent. Shout out to Shay. He was warm, inviting and gave us a wonderful tour of the hotel and room. He is a testament to why I love the Irish people so much. I would stay here again when I return.

Staff very friendly Rooms of a very high standard Bars likewise Grounds - spectacular Spa excellent - although swimming pool is independent from the hotel proper - necessitating a walk across the outer yard: pool is some what short and narrow. Main drawback - the Dining Room does not live up to the standards set elsewhere in this Hotel and seems to cater for high volumes of punters such a coach tours Nonetheless a nice hotel
