A 10/10 experience. Gorgeous spot and fantastic staff. Couldn’t have asked for more. Pool was a hit with the kids. Food just gorgeous, rooms and bathroom in deluxe suite very spacious. Only improvement is the rooms were so large they could have slept 2 kids rather just one. Would love to go back. A true 5 star Irish experience.
As a party of four seasoned travellers we booked two rooms for one night with dinner and a SPA treatment for the ladies. One room was available on arrival but the second one was not ready at 3.30pm and it was another 40 minutes before we could access our room. The only explanation was that 'We had a busy day yesterday'. Consequently our luggage was put into one room. We had one small bag to retrieve from the car and the receptionist insisted on a concierge accompanying us to get the bag. However there had been no help to bring the main luggage to reception. There is no doubt that the staff are highly trained and courteous but I got a strong feeling they are strained and nervous. There is no signage around the hotel so you must ask where is the bar, restaurant and spa. The spa, incidentally, is a seperate building from the hotel so you must exit the hotel building in the rain, as it was in our case. There is a merciless walk from your room to the reception area and we got no help in bringing your luggage to reception on departure. One room had a TV not working and a towel rail not heating. On the dot of 12pm on the day of departure your keys are cancelled but the same precision did not apply when we arrived and the room was not available. The food is excellent and the decor overall and rooms are a high standard. It did dawn on me what was missing. There was no evidence of management staff. in the time we we're there I never encountered anyone who resembled management personnel. Definitely not 5 star.…
What can i say.... Lough Eske Castle is probably the best place we go to stay in Ireland. To start the warm welcome we always receive from Shay or Michael at concierge to Geraldine at reception is unbelievable. The rooms are so beautifully decorated with exceptional bathrooms. Breakfast is beautiful everything u desire with the best omelettes. Dinner in the restaurant is Michelin star quality and Johnny is unbelievably professional and looks after us every time. The bar is quant with fabulous service, recently we were spoiled with Aoife a young girl but absolutely brilliant. To top it off the scenery is incredible. I can not recommend enough.
Just returned from a one night stay in this hotel, to mark a special birthday. It is in a lovely location and is a beautiful building with a lovely atmosphere. For the most part, staff were v. friendly and welcoming. Despite arriving 30mins after check-in time (after a v long drive!) our room was not ready - we were told we would get a phone call when it was available, but no call came; we checked after an hour and it had become available. We were not offered anything - even a cup of tea - while we waited. The room, when we got in, was lovely and our meal that evening in Cedars was fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, but busy as there was a wedding in the hotel. On check out we asked about a walk on grounds but was told there was none - advised to walk on main road to Harvey’s point. Disappointed now to read there is a boardwalk, bikes and even a castle tour we could have availed of. …
This was a highlight of our trip. Such a beautiful castle with so much charm!! The rooms are huge and very well updated. The food and service is amazing. I highly suggest the stew. Definetely 5 star treatment all the way through.
