Do not stay in the guest rooms, although the hotel is 5* these rooms are not. The heating does not work in these rooms and our room was worn out. Not an ideal place to get away for a night and relax as was the objective of the stay. Having said that the gardens, bar and restaurant were nice.

Absolutely wonderful getaway for us and our teenage son. We loved the hotel, grounds, spa, staff, breakfast and local Donegal sights. Highly recommend the spa and the treatments as well as the steam and sauna area.

We attended a wedding in May in the beautiful lough eske Castle... stunning castle... exceptional staff.. rooms are amazing... Have to mention the catering staff from the wedding function Mary and Doreen who were so so kind and welcoming... Breakfast was very good. We can see why the bride and groom fell in love with this place as we are fans now too.

The Lough Eske Castle has the potential to be an absolutely amazing property. It is located in an incredible area - that of, Donegal. But, the upkeep of the hotel is far below expectations. It is in no way a 5 star property. So much needs to be improved. They unfairly make potential guests think that the hotel has AC. It does not. Only the garden suites have AC. For someone like us with severe allergies - we need AC. They are very understaffed and it is apparent when you see how "harried" the staff seems to be. I would suggest going down the road to Harvey's Point. Donegal is certainly worth the trip.
