Detailed Reviews
We had stayed at Ard Na Breathe ten years ago, on a quick trip to the area. We loved it so much, I was sure to book early to assure getting a room here. There have been some changes, but the breakfast continue to be outstanding for a guest house. There are several cooked breakfast options, including porridge, and a buffet table filled with yogurt, cheeses, meats, croissants, fruit and various other options.
The room was a comfortable king with an ensuite bathroom. We had a couple of minor issues, but when I mentioned them to the owner, they were taken care of within short time, and she was apologetic and eager to be sure we were comfortable.
The wifi was a bit spotty, but very strong down in the breakfast room, if one needs access.
I found the price to be quite reasonable in comparison to other properties that I visited and what they had to offer. The B&B is a short walk into Donegal town, but a very easy drive. Yet, it is off the beaten track, with lovely views of fields filled with sheep nearby.

We spent 2 nights at Ard na Breatha as part of our tour of Ireland. We experienced a warm welcome from Theresa, she recommended places for us to dine, as well as activities in the area, and provided directions for the short walk to town. Our room was very cozy and charming, and waking up to the sound of sheep in the field next door was an added bonus!
I am not sure what the secret ingredient is in the scrambled eggs, but we both agreed they were the best we had ever tasted. The B&B was perfectly located for our day trips to various beaches as well as Glenveagh National Park. Guests have access after breakfast hours to a fully equipped kitchen, so if you wish to forgo dinner in town, you have everything you will require to make your own dinner, or cup of tea before bedtime.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to visiting again, should we be lucky enough to find ourselves in Ireland in the future! Thank you again for your hospitality!

We stayed at Ard na Breatha 5 years ago, and although it is a bit out of Donegal town, it is a quick drive in, and we never had an issue parking either on the street or in the parking lot near the quay. Theresa and her husband, Albert, are lovely people, and make you feel very welcome. Much to our surprise, the B&B had been done over, and the new color scheme of soft grays is so well done. The addition of a kitchen area for guests to use is a real plus. Having access to tea and coffee and use of a fridge is a nice bonus. Highly recommend Ard na Breatha. Two positive experiences here.

Nice bright room overlook fields to hills beyond, unfortunately a little too remote from town centre to be able to walk in the evening with poor street lighting and limited pavements.
Breakfast buffet extensive but cooked breakfast limited to eggs 4 ways and porridge.
Bathroom was in need of an upgrade.

We were looking forward to staying in a country area of Donegal Town with just the sound of sheep bleating, but unfortunately the sheep have gone and I was woken to the sound of traffic noise from the bypass highway not far from our B&B….disappointing as I’d questioned the owner about the quietness of the accommodation! However, we did enjoy the delicious breakfast, with lovely Sarah serving....excellent customer service :) Perhaps again, I misunderstood, but we expected the kettle/tea/coffee maker to be in our family room....not so but instead in a communal kitchen downstairs together with 'frig access, microwave and cooking facilities that I was very clearly dissuaded from using by the owner "as the facilities were for all guests"! Not really walking distance from Donegal Town and difficulty finding parking in the evening.

The Room, bed, bath were very clean and well presented. Only downside was unusable Wi-Fi in our room.
Tea & coffee facilities were available in a residents kitchen rather than in the bedroom.
Breakfast was continental style augmented with eggs to order. The coffee was good
Overall very well run with good service

Ard na Breathe was a perfect stay! I traveled with my partner and parents, and we all had a wonderful experience. We got a flat tire on our way into the town, and the B&B was accommodating of our unexpectedly very late arrival. They recommended a great place to get takeaway in the town on our way in, and they helped us find a place to get a new tire! We also loved meeting Theresa, one of the staff at Ard na Breatha. My family was traveling to explore genealogy in Donegal county, and she kindly connected us with an old friend from the village our family from. We feel so lucky to have stayed here!
The B&B itself was cozy and clean. It is set a bit out of the town and is surrounded by pastures of sheep! Breakfast was delicious and accommodating to vegetarians. We wish we could've spend more time in Donegal and would be thrilled to stay here again in the future!

On our trip throughout Ireland we stayed here for two nights. Theresa was very pleasant and cheerful. There were good choices for breakfast. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. Our room could have used some spring cleaning as I noticed some spider webs on the ceiling. Otherwise, everything was good. It’s a bit of a walk to town and mostly downhill, but an easy drive. There is plenty of parking on site.

Hi Sara, so sorry I missed this question somehow, yes there is hairdryers in the rooms. I look forward to welcoming you all to Ard na Breatha. If you have an idea of your arrival time please advise also if you would like to have a table in the restaurant please let me know and I will allocate a nice table for you all. Kind regards Theresa Morrow
Ard na Breatha is a seven minute drive from Harvey's Point Hotel. We have an excellent taxi service here in Donegal, We can arrange this for the guests day or night so there is never a problem getting taxis to and from Harvey's Point Hotel and Solis Lough Eske Castle.Thank you Kind Regards Theresa
