The Arches truly is serene. The impeccably clean and quiet room with it’s beautiful view overlooking Lough Eske soothed my road-weary nerves. And Noreen served up a gourmet Irish Breakfast. Wish I’d stayed long enough to try her other offerings. The grounds outside are impeccably manicured and inside, all the little things that make for a comfortable stay are fine-tuned here. Can’t say enough about this oasis.

Just returned from 2 wonderful nights in this stunning B&B. Our lovely room had fantastic views over Lough Eske and the Blue Stack mountains. Noreen, our host was extremely helpful and friendly..The bed was super comfortable and made for a great night's sleep.. The breakfast each day was delicious, especially the homemade wheaten bread! It's a beautiful house with stunningly maintained gardens. Very easy to get to, lots of signposts and only 10 mins from Donegal town. Can't wait to return! 10/10

Just few minutes out of Donegal in the countryside, it is located on a hill overlooking a lake.
What a view and what a garden.
Impeccably clean and very comfortable, you can have a great rest while visiting an area with plenty of things to see.
The host is very nice and charming lady; she prepared a great breakfast for us and gave us some suggestions in what to explore in the area and where to dine.

Stayed with Noreen again recently and as always the house and gardens are all immaculate. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Location is very quiet and we were treated to the sound of a cuckoo next morning!! Sincere thanks and we look forward to staying again soon

We can't say enough about our stay at The Arches. Noreen and her family are warm, welcoming and friendly hosts. The food is outstanding, the rooms are warm, comfortable, clean and the view is spectacular. A short 10 minute drive to Donegal makes this is the perfect location to enjoy the town and get some peace and quiet. We have traveled all over the United States, Europe, and Asia and I can promise we will return to this special place, it is truly unforgettable.

The Arches was amazing! Immaculately clean. Gorgeous setting inside and out. Our hostess was so friendly and helpful, like visiting an old friend. And the breakfast! Delicious! If ever we have a chance to visit again, it’ll be a must stay.

If your looking for a place to stay which is quiet & comfortable this is the spot.
Beautiful location, the guest house looks out over the lake and has stunning scenery. The gardens are really well looked after.
The rooms are spotless. Nice shower, again spotless with good pressure & the water doesn't leak out onto the bathroom floor.. huge bonus! Little vanity area with hairdryer & mirror with light for getting ready.
The breakfast is really good. Highly recommend the scrambled eggs, nicest I've ever had.
The owner Noreen is very welcoming.
Overall lovely stay, close to the beaches & Donegal town.

I have been staying with Noreen on Lough Eske for 26 years. (We figured this out together when I arrived there this past Saturday.) I think I have stayed with her at least 10 times, maybe more. It would be hard to overstate how perfect a visit with Noreen is. The location, the home, the rooms, the breakfasts are all incomparable. But most importantly, the kindness and warmth of Noreen. When I enter that house, I instantly feel like I am home.

So, some of the mechanics....just 10 minutes from Donegal town, nestled up on the shores of Lough Eske with magnificent views. One night is not enough. Do yourself a favor and stay at least two, or even three. Settle in and enjoy all the magic that Donegal has to offer. There is no more beautiful part of Ireland.

Noreen is special. You won't be disappointed.

Noreen is an excellent hostess. The rooms are lovely (take time to sit by your window and enjoy the views of the lake!) Her French toast is worth the trip. It is a bit of a drive to town, but the hospitality and quality of the rooms is well worth it!

The grounds of this B&B are absolutely gorgeous! Our room was more than comfy and Noreen was the ultimate hostess! Breakfast was very good, enough selections with fruit, cereal as well.
It is a jewel in a rural setting and with parking in Donegal easy, it wasn't an issue driving in. Central to so many attractions. Highly recommend.
