Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our first visit and we had high expectations given the great reviews - we were not disappointed! The view is breathtaking and the standard of food was exemplary throughout. The afternoon tea was one of the best I've had and dinner was exquisite. Me and my elderly mother stayed in a Premium suite and were extremely comfortable. Our stay was luxurious, relaxing and well worth the cost, and what made it extra special was the wall to wall welcome we received, from all the staff, throughout our weekend. The service at Harvey's Point is so good you honestly do feel you're home from home. Thankyou to all for a lovely stay!

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service. We enjoyed our gorgeous room, with a lovely view. The rain was bucketing on one day of our stay, but we didn't mind because the room was so nice! We enjoyed the food (smoked salmon was gorgeous!). the staff were always friendly, informative and ready to help. I wish to particularly note the accessibility for wheelchair users. I was really glad to see such large rooms, wide corridors and ramps instead of stairs. They have excellent automatic doors. There are a few things that could improve - disabled bay parking spaces are not wide enough for wheelchair users, the main toilets by the dining area don't look particularly accessible. For people with limited mobility (as opposed to wheelchair users) this hotel and grounds is VERY large and there could be a lot of ground to cover to get to your room. A few more of the cosy chairs scattered about the place wouldn't go amiss! Really recommend Harvey's point.

This is our 4th visit to Harvey’s Point and it has been our best ever. We were warmly welcomed by Eamonn Gillespie and the team and the attention to meeting all our needs was outstanding. Our room was very luxurious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The attention to detail i.e. fresh bottled milk placed in the fridge each morning, baked cookies and bottles of water left every day and any requests dealt with immediately have made this a wonderful place to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary. The food is first class with the best breakfast choice of any hotel we have stayed in. The views of Lough Eske are stunning. Dinner in the Lakeside Restaurant was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere in the bar is warm and friendly and although less formal the food is exceptional. Outstanding fish & chips, lamb shank or just a simple ‘soup and sandwich’ all presented well and very tasty. Harvey’s Point do a cookery demonstration followed by a wine tasting experience on a Tuesday and Thursday. Both are really worth attending. Our best memory will definitely be the Wednesday Cabaret. Not only did we have a fantastic 4 course dinner but Eamonn Gillespie’s presentation and involvement in a full nights entertainment was outstanding. Every performance was great and could have held our attention for the whole night but we were given treat after treat with Eamonn showing that he is also a great and respected performer. We are so glad that the timing of our visit allowed for us to attend the cabaret again as this was definitely the best we have been to. A big thank you to all at Harvey’s Point for making this such a wonderful and memorable visit. We will be back.

The standard of service was top drawer. Food was excellent and the cabaret dinner orgsnised and presented on Wed Sept 13th by manager Eamonn Gillespie was fabulous . It had many artists and the standard and variety was as good as you could get anywhere.

In September 2023 I attended the fantastic Cabaret show at the beautiful, scenic and luxurious Harvey's Point hotel overlooking the shores of the tranquill and peaceful Lough Eske in Donegal with breathtaking views. To say I was thoroughly entertained is an understatement! The show was hosted by the perfect host for the nights entertainment, Eamonn Gillespie , and he himself is a member of the dazzling and super talented Donegal Tenors. The singing was absolutely superb and I was extremely impressed with the band who kept customers on their toes dancing the night away! The food during the cabaret act was absolutely delicious and great value . The staff at the hotel were very courteous to everyone and very welcoming and friendly. I really can't wait to go back to Harvey's Point again soon , and Id thoroughly recommend a stay this hotel to anybody! Stephen Gibbons.

This hotel thinks of every little touch to make your stay more welcoming. Fruit in the lobby for guests, daily newspapers, cookies and sweets to accompany your coffee in the bedroom and the most comfortable bed and quality sheets. The hotel is beautifully kept and the rooms are spacious and spotless. We had dinner the evening before and Geraldine , looked after us very well. She was Exceptionally informed about the menu and described the courses in detail and suggested different options. The meal was outstanding and the breakfast even more impressive. You won’t leave hungry or disappointed. It was the best breakfast I’ve ever had. The setting looking over Lough Eske is breathtaking even though the weather was damp. I’m hoping to go back again sometime. A really special treat.

I have visited Harvey’s point many times and have been more than pleased with the customer service and food quality. Recently, my son had booked afternoon tea to celebrate myself and my husbands anniversary. He had been assured by staff that they would make note of the special occasion. Upon arrival there was no mention of this, with the staff being quite distant and uninvolved with myself and other guests. We weren’t even provided with the tea menu. When the food came, we found ourselves dissatisfied with the below par food compared with previous experiences. Unfortunately, that was the least of our troubles, as we were shocked to discover a revolting gelatinous, white, yellow flecked residue at the bottom of the milk jug.It made my son wretch upon sight of it after realising that he had consumed a great deal of milk with his multiple cups of tea. We had to stop a short distance down the road for my husband to projectile vomit.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments in relation to your recent afternoon tea experience at Harvey's Point. We are naturally disappointed that you felt the experience was not up to standard. We do apologize for not acknowledging your anniversary, this was an omission on our behalf. We love to see families and friends celebrating special occasions at Harvey's Point so please accept our apology on this oversight. It is hotel standard that our afternoon tea menu's are placed on all tables reserved and it was recalled that the menu was in fact on your table upon your arrival. While seeking information about your experience from our restaurant manager, he recalls apologizing to your table regards the milk, removing it from the table and gave an afternoon tea compliments of the hotel for this issue which you accepted and appreciated upon your departure of the restaurant. He felt at this point that you were satisfactory with how the situation was efficiently dealt with thus expressing this to him at the time. However, we do hope to welcome you back to Harvey's Point in the future in an attempt to restore your faith in the hotel. Kind regards, Sheila Russell Sales & Marketing Manager

We stayed in the lakeside suites a week for some R&R and to play some golf. Our son and his wife stayed in the same section. Fabulous time! The views were peaceful and beautiful. The food was great. We were also fortunate to have warm and lovely weather. A highlight was their seasonal Cabaret dinner and show on its opening night. From the violinist to the singers and entertainers, its a do not miss show if you're in town. Eamon was clearly a great choice to emcee!
