We stayed for 4 nights in September 2020. Hotel is aptly named having a very central location in Donegal Town and a perfect base if touring around Donegal. The hotel rooms are a good size but in need of modernisation. The hotel photos online look a lot more modern than the reality. We tried breakfast on our first morning but as it was only ok we decided to eat locally after that and there's plenty of options. As is the case with many hotel breakfasts, it is only warm and not a hot one.
Recently returned from a lovely one night stay in the Central Hotel. Great location to local amenities. Room was spacious and clean with an added bonus of a beautiful view overlooking Donegal Bay. Dined in the restaurant eating from the Thai fusion menu which was delicious. I must say that our waiter Kris really added to the overall dining experience, he was wonderful! The hotel has clear covid guidelines which are adhered to by staff and easy for residents to follow, felt very safe and well looked after for the stay, looking forward to returning.
Stayed for a weekend for my boyfriend's 30th. They were very kind to deliver a lovely plate of little desserts wishing him happy birthday on arrival. They were very accommodating to fulfill my request of a room overlooking the river, and when I asked about pancakes for breakfast room service they were so kind to make these. Thanks to all the lovely staff and making our time there very enjoyable 🙂
Spent a couple of days in this hotel and we choose based on location. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. We had a nice view of the bay . No safe in room and you are given the option to not have house keeping clean the room. The evening meal were nice and staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was limited and buffet style. There is a small number of free car parking space around the back of the hotel which is accessible through the public car park.
We were passing through Donegal town on the way to Glenties and were starving, so called in here and were not disappointed.I had a lovely roast dinner for lunch, and it was served to us by a very friendly young waitress, Megan.A very enjoyable experience and I will definately eat there again when next in the area
