Detailed Reviews
The Diamond lodgings was quite easy to find in the small town centre, and literally overlooks 'The Diamond' (town square). When we arrived, we were greeted by Bridie who was very very welcoming and friendly, asking us where we were from and recommending things for us to do in Donegal. The rooms themselves are simple but nice and tidy and also were reasonably priced.
We decided to go on one of the famous water bus trips around Donegal bay. The weather was great and we pulled up right next to a wild seal colony. The whole trip was well worth the money and we'd definitely recommend it.
If you're looking for somewhere to lunch or have dinner, the Blueberry tea rooms cannot be missed! Although this little hotspot is mostly popular at lunch times or for tea & coffe, we went in around 7pm and had a great meal- the best thai green curry I've ever had!!
Overall, Dongeal town is well worth a visit :-)

Bridie Duncan must be the friendliest lodging provider ever. Apart from the personal but not intrusive concern for the comfort of my wife and myself she runs an extremely clean and comfortable lodgings. Our trip was all the more enjoyable due to the accessability of our accomodation right in the centre of Donegal town. Not having breakfast was not a problem due to the modest price charged for the room. Full breakfast can be had very cheaply in the coffee shop attached to the hotel across the square.

We arrived in Donegal on a Saturday night without a booking as there was nothing available on TA/Kayak/Trivago. While driving around the diamond we spied a small sign on the footpath for this place. The entrance is at the end of an arcade and up 2 flights of stairs (no lift).
The room we got for 50 Euro was small and basic, but very clean, and obviously very convenient, being right in the middle of town. They have their own private (although not secure; you only need the remote control to enter, not to exit) parking out the back. Some of the rooms face the fairly busy diamond, but ours faced into an alley, so was reasonably quiet.
No breakfast, but there’re a few cheap options a just steps away on the diamond.

Response from Diamond_Lodgings, Owner at Diamond Lodgings
Responded 17 Jul 2015
Hi Paul, I am afraid that there has been a misunderstanding in this instance which we wish to clarify. Yesterday we received a phone call asking for a twin room at 8.15pm. Although the caller originally asked for a twin room he then pointed out that there was a double room available online and said that would do. But as he had rang looking for a twin room we said we would call back in a half hour to see if we could reallocate our rooms to free up a twin. Within 10 minutes I had two missed calls while at dinner. When I called back the person insisted that we had refused to sell a double room on the basis that it was for two men. We explained then, as we are doing here again, that we were only trying to facilitate the original request for a twin room. Just to be absolutely clear we would like to state categorically that couples of any sexual orientation are welcome at the Diamond Lodgings. It is simply our policy to try and reserve double rooms for couples and twin rooms for non-couples. Because in this instance the caller had asked us for a twin room originally we had no reason to suppose the booking was for a couple. As past reviews demonstrate we always do our utmost to facilitate our guests. Given that this is and has always been our policy we were really disappointed to have received such an unfair review. Bridie

This is not my first visit to Diamond Lodgings, I am what you would call a regular.Bridie is a lovely host, warm and friendly to all her guests. She caters to all your needs. If it's advise about a local attractions you wish to visit, Bridie has lots of knownledge of the area. The Diamond lodgings can be found in the heart of Donegal town, overlooking the Diamond. Rooms are large, warm and tidy and their prices are excellent.Because of it's location, it is within walking distance to all the main stores, restaurants, and any pubs! But most important the historical sites : the castle and the abbey. Don't forget to take a lovely trip on the Donegal waterbus.

We had a delightful stay at the Diamond Lodging in the heart of Donegal town. ItThe rooms were surprisingly quiet and immaculate. The day before we were to arrive, I received a notice from the booking site that our room had been canceled due to confusion with a credit card. When I called the owner, Bridie, she said there were no worries as she kept our room for us. (Thank you again Bridie!) She gave us excellent tips on where to go to eat and how to get to different areas.

Would highly recommend this friendly accommodation in the Centre of Donegal town. The owner, Bridie, went out of her way to be helpful and the rooms are very comfortable, well equipped and good value. The off street parking is an added bonus.

This rooms are on the first floor above shops on the central square. The rooms are clean and provide toiletries in the ensuite. Tea and coffee in all rooms. Our room was huge.
The lady who looked after us was so lovely and helpful.
Secure parking in accessed via the car parking behind the building.
Good pubs and a castle should be explored.

We stayed here for one overnight while touring Ireland. The accommodation while not luxurious had everything we needed and was spotless clean. The owners were very nice and friendly. Free parking at the back of the building was an added bonus.

This is a real deal for a basic room right in the heart of Donegal with private parking. Just a basic room but three nights was the same as one night at nearby hotels. Not fancy, but it works. The host, Bridie, was friendly and informative.

Thank you for your Inquiry.
I am sorry I would not have availability for 22 double rooms.
I only have 10 rooms and I am located on the 2nd floor of the building with access only by stairs.
Kind Regards,
Bridie.
