This was mine and my mum's first proper trip since before the pandemic and we could not have picked a better place to stay. Olive & Kieran are wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure we had an enjoyable trip. Auburn House is situated in the Victorian Quarter, just a short walk from the bus station and surrounded by plenty shops, cafes, bars etc. if you don't fancy going into the main city centre.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with lovely decor. The windows were thick enough to block out the city noise - Cork is more bustling than people think!
There was a great selection of cold and hot breakfast options and again, Olive & Kieran were happy to get extra bits in if needed. I HIGHLY recommend the Omega bread which they picked up from the Alternative Bread Company in the English Market. Super tasty, I ended up making lunch with it. The dining room is also available to use at all times and has a microwave, kettle and cutlery, which meant we were able to dine in on a few nights (good if you're trying to save money. I adored the fish tank in the dining room and their sweet little dog, Pippa, who would sometimes be snoozing in the hallway. It really made the place feel like a home.
We had a brilliant stay and will definitely be booking again next time we're in Cork. Thank you, Olive and Kieran!

We've spent 10 wonderful days at Olive's an Kieran's Auburn House. We've met lovely owners and felt very comfortable in our cosy room (ensuite) and have enjoyed every delicious breakfast. Unfortunately we had to leave...
We'll be back 😉

On arrival was surprised to see double yellow lines and no parking on the road. Olive answered the door and said it was no problem - to unload the car and she would show us where to park. The car park is in a locked church ground with automated gates. The only problem for us (older persons) is it was down a steep hill - and coming back up was an effort. If we wanted to access the car I called Olive who opened the gates but one of us had to stand by the gates to keep them open. Not very nice in the rain. Our room was on the first floor. Fairly narrow stairs but we managed. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. The room had everything we needed for our stay, Tea facilities etc. which was replenished every day. Cooked breakfast was very good. It is very close to restaurants and train station. Olive and Kieran recommended a couple of places to eat which were very good and reasonably priced. Auburn House is directly opposite Sheila’s Hostel and next door to the hostel is a large building which I believe used to be a hotel but is now used to accommodate asylum seekers. Mostly men. They never bothered us but they do sit out on the steps late into the evening and walking past can make you feel intimidated. However, Olive and Kieran were really helpful, kind hosts and if you are younger and fitter, the hill should not prove a problem. And for the centre of Cork, very good value for money.

We had the pleasure of staying at Auburn Guesthouse in July shortly after it reopened following Covid lockdown. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home, Olive is an extremely friendly and accommodating host. She even wrapped up some smoked salmon for us to take with us one day! Room was perfect and spotless. Great location for our adventures around Cork. Thank you so much for a great stay!

A very welcoming establishment that is a short walk from the city centre and about half-an-hour from the university. Cosy room with nice view of the street and plenty of hot water. Very substantial breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled egg, a sizeable carpark down the hill, and an exceptionally well-behaved Yorkshire terrier! I would use this place again.

Stayed here for 2 nights, location is perfect for the city centre, very walkable. The host Olive is very friendly, went out of her way before my arrival and during my stay to make me feel comfortable.
Room was clean and had everything I needed. Great shower, tea facilities etc.
Breakfast was delicious.

Lovely clean B&B. Olive the host was amazing, friendly, and very helpful with directions to attractions, tours, and methods of transportation. This place is conveniently located in the city of Cork and it is walking distance to pretty much everywhere. We highly recommend this guest house for anyone visiting this city. I was here 6 years ago, and I was very glad I came back.

Our hosts were kind and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, the location was excellent, and the breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed chatting with Olive each morning. Seeing their sweet little pup in her bed at the entryway each day made our stay that much more enjoyable. Definitely worth the price we paid, and then some! I'd recommend this place to everyone looking to visit Cork.

Olive and Keiran are simply the best! Any small "older house typical" problems can easily be looked over when two such nice and helpful people are there for you! Everything was clean, the breakfast itself was very good and we really enjoyed the communication and overall stay. If we are every in Cork again, I'm sure that we'll check here first for availability.
