Just very run down, overpriced, no breakfast. No discount for child, very noisy. Someone upstairs moving around all night. Felt unclean, shower was nice, although broken tiles and very dated, tiny TV too high on wall with just 3 channels, no knowledge of local area 250 euro for myself and 9 year old was double what I'd expect to pay.
This hotel looks nothing like the photos on their website. We would never had booked it if we had known. The only positive things I can say are that the young woman who checked us in was nice and we appreciated that parking was free and monitored. The carpets were stained, the blanket on the bed had a hole in it, the wifi was basically unusable as it was very weak and it kept dying. Because the wifi was bad the TV having netflix was useless. The bathroom was very worn. Literally nothing like the photos. We paid 130 euro for one night. It was a 20-30 min walk to city center to try to find dinner options. This is located across the street from the university. This was on a main street so there is traffic noise.
By far one of the most run down establishments I’ve ever stayed in Ireland , actually shocked they can charge €100 p/night for the quality of the rooms. Looks nothing like the photos - carpets absolutely FILTHY, nothing welcoming about the room whatsoever. Cold water in taps on arrival and in the morning. Very loud traffic outside , felt like we were sleeping with windows open. Positives - lovely staff member on check in & parking included in rate.
A no frills place, 2beds, desk, table chairs cleaned everyday, clean. There are 6 rooms make sure you talk to them about what room you want. 1- 7. We were in #6 that was on top floor no elevators. Not much for climbing stairs. It was close to City Centre and lots to do. Went to the English Market and had breakfast everyday, it was excellent and not expensive. If renting a car just park and take the bus as nothing is that far but not to get lost at first, take bus. Very damp and cold wear turtle necks.
Parking adequate Continental breakfast 9 euro 20 minute walk into centre of town for shops and eateries Rooms neat and tidy Free wifi abysmal No stay if you require wifi May be required to climb several flights of stairs On main road lots of traffic noise Not the best of stay options considering quite high cost!
We pulled in for a nite, driving from Dublin on our way to the Ring of Kerry The room was super spacious clean .. great views of cork , bath tub was jacuzzi like but we only used it as a bath tub.. Very nice folks felt relaxed
It is not a new building, but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The location of the Crawford Guest House is very good. Is a good choice for business or for vacation. The price is middle-range. The people in the hotel are very nice.
Really friendly place with a big parking, nice and clean room, huge bathroom with a good water pressure, great staff... Perfect location as well. I'm sure if next time come back to Cork, I will choose this place.
Although I booked a room at Killarney Guest House, we got a room in another hotel next to this one - I guess they have the same owners. Although this is a B&B, you need to pay extra for the breakfast...we didn't choose this option. The bedroom and the bathroom was really tired and they would really need renovation - painting fading and peeling, missing or broken bathtub parts. The bed was uncomfortable and too soft with an old mattress with stains on it. There was a dirty, used towel in the bathroom with someone's makeup on it. It might have been a former smoking room, because the room was smelling. The windows are facing the street, so the room is really loud and due to the lights right in front of the room it is always bright - you need to sleep in an orange light. We just stayed because we paid the room already - they asked me to pay in advance, before checking in to my room.…
As in my title, our room was large, the parking was big at the back (and therefore secure) and the location was very convenient for those who wants to sample the Cork City Centre night life. We went there 16th Feb on a Friday for an overnight visit. It was easy to locate and the parking space was easy to access. The location allows for an easy and pleasant stroll towards the city centre. It passes numerous chic cafes and restaurants and I truely like this experience walking with my wife along the street. Initially we wanted to stay at the hotel across the waterway, but we were glad we didnt. We went to numerous conferences all over the western world and the USA; we are sick of hotels.. so sterile and lacking character. This stay was very memorable for us.
