We arrived here for our first two nights of our 7 day trip. Upon our arrival we instantly felt at home. Tony and Avril run a truly amazing B&B and are absolutely lovely hosts. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious both mornings, and Avril makes the best scones (we tried many other scones during our trip and none compared to hers). The rooms are nice, beds were comfy, and the shower was very nice. Tony and Avril both offered exceptional recommendations on things to do and helped us with ensuring we had a great experience in Ireland. Absolutely book this place if it is available, you won’t be disappointed.

We are from Wisconsin, USA and we were coming to visit our daughter who is here for the semester at UCC. We had such a lovely time and are so grateful to our hosts, Avril and Tony, for all of their knowledge and help with our many questions. We were very interested in an authentic Irish experience and they were amazing with all their local suggestions. The accommodations were perfect and very comfortable, and breakfast each morning was delicious and a great way to start our day. The location is ideal as well as we walked everywhere in Cork and could walk to any bus station easily if we were headed out of town. If we are so lucky to come again, we will definitely love to stay here again.

I chose Fernroyd House B & B for a 4 day stay with my family ( my husband , three teenagers/young adults , my 88 year old mum and brother) in Cork to attend my graduation. This lovely well kept B and B is in a very quite beautiful location near University College Cork and an easy walk or bus ride into the city centre and has a nearby beautiful park. The rooms were very comfortable especially the beds, equipped with all one needs and the breakfast room was very warm and homely. The breakfast was superb and offers a menu with a good choice of cooked breakfast and delicious freshly baked scones! This is already enough for a great stay, however what we loved most was the warm welcome and hospitality of Tony and Avril, the owners of Fernroyd B & B. It was like being home away from home. Thank you so much Tony & Avril for making my graduation a memorable one. We hope we can visit again some time soon.…

Just got back home from Tony and Avril’s B&B. Fernroyd House is a welcoming spot just 20 meters outside University College, Cork. It is a comfortable place, very bright and clean, and it makes for a warm and cosy stay in the winter months. A lot more can be said of Tony and Avril’s presence. They were extremely pleasant and helpful, and good company. They certainly added that all too important human touch. The breakfast was delicious and generous. They both went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Even when we had a small contingency when we were out, totally disconnected from their business, they went miles out of their way to make sure things were put to rights. Tony and Avril will certainly see us again…and some of our friends too.

My cousin and I passed through Cork for a couple of nights and stayed at Fernroyd House. It was a lovely experience! The hosts are so kind and accommodating, and even moved our car out of the street for us! We were greeted with maps of the area and recommendations for dinner and attractions. The location is easily walkable to the town center. Breakfast was delicious (and quite honestly our favorite of our entire Ireland trip). Even when we had to leave before the official breakfast time, the hosts left some fruit, yogurt, and juice for us. Our experience was 10/10 - I’d recommend this stay to anyone coming to Cork!

Must give a shout-out to Tony and Avril for their gracious hospitality and lovely bnb, located near the university at Cork! Their room was just perfect, bed was comfy, shower nice and hot, and they were, above all, very kind people! Tony also had some great and very helpful recommendations for what to do and where to go in the city that I checked out (a lovely fish restaurant!). I had also made a foolish mistake with my reservation that they really weren't obliged to accommodate me with, but in the end, went out of their way to. Can I also add that Avril makes the best scones that I ate while in Ireland? She's a pro (and a generous listener, too--tell them both your latest, they'll tell you theirs). The breakfast is great, too. I heartily recommend Fernroyd House in Cork City!! Do stay when in the area!…

Staying here was truly like being at home - we were that comfortable and cared for. Avril and Tony were gracious, interesting, accommodating and efficient hosts. Breakfast was delicious! Check in and check out was seamless. Bedding was luxe. Rooms were spotless. We have a daughter studying at UCC and when we were saying our goodbyes, Avril assured us that she would have a home away from home if ever the need should arise - and I believe her! My elderly parents will stay here in the coming year. I would not stay anywhere else in Cork from now on!

My wife and I stayed just for a night in our busy Ireland adventure. I wish we had stayed a few days more. It was surprising the location is walking distance to town and restaurants but yet in a quiet street. The hosts are remarkable, made us feel welcomed right away and the attention was top notch. Staying at Fernroyd was such a treat. Avril and Tom were so accomodating. I typically don't care for b and b's. But I will stay here again and again. This was one of the highlights of my trip. Definitely a 5 star experience.

I had a lovely one night (wish it was longer) stay with a delicious breakfast. I felt so well taken care of and appreciated. Tony and Avril are very proud of Cork and are quick to recommend lovely pubs and restaurants. I highlight recommend this location - 10 minute walk to local food and entertainment. Points: street parking or two vehicles on site, ask for the scones to go - yummy! Go to Sin-e for an evening of music and a Beamish pint :-)
