Accommodation was getting a bit tired , needs a bit of a makeover . Its clean and tidy .Good size room . Convenient location . Plenty of free onsite parking . But the big plus is the amazing delicious cooked breakfast that's included in the tariff
Came to Cork after our flight to Dublin was cancelled. Last Minute booking. Lovely place. Clean, friendly and a wonderful breakfast - plenty of choice. Would have liked to stay longer but have to get to Dublin.
Stayed at the Belvedere Lodge for an overniggt stay. From the outside the Lodge looks plain but inside the accommodation was spacious and clean, The staff where coutious and friendly with a breakfast second to none. I fully recommend the Belvedere much better than a 4 star hotel in my opinion.
Very comfortable and good clean rooms and excellent breakfast and have stayed a number of times and have never been disappointed. One of the best B@B's I have stayed in and would recommend to anyone visiting Cork
The entrance has nothing to do with the name of the lodge - Belvedere on the main road - nothing beautiful to look at. Very dangerous entering and exiting from the gate with the car. It has been a surprise to find the only dirty/not-green/untidy/ garden in Ireland. All the building is dated and with a constant smell of fried food. The rooms are also dated with old furniture and very dark, it seems to be in an old person’s house. Toilet seat broken and the tap water hard to rotate. We could listen all the noises from other rooms in the night and the room door was not well fixed. The breakfast was poor and almost completely missing any sweet food. Not any choice of milk, poor choice of quality of the food. The employees unfriendly and rude. We really couldn’t understand where the reviews of the others travellers come from. On top of everything what is unbelievable is the price compared with the service for 200 euros per night I expect at least to have courtesy and a proper service and decent breakfast.…
My family and I were on a road trip through southern Ireland including Cork and booked a room for one night at the Belvedere Lodge. We arrived and checked into a room with 2 queens and 1 full, which was perfect for the 4 of us. The room itself was a little dated, but the bathroom was very modern. It was a little mismatched but we were comfortable and don't need any frills. Two of the important things, the coffee maker and television, worked just fine. One of the young ladies working there, Grace, was super friendly and was able to get us extra towels as well as called a taxi for us to go to get dinner. Breakfast in the morning was served in a cute sunroom. The food was a typical Irish breakfast as well as cereals, fruits, cheeses, and yogurts. My pescatarian sister had lox and scrambled eggs, and my other sister and I had plain scrambled eggs. And, I could drink all the coffee I wanted. For the price and one night, it was a wonderful experience. Thanks again Grace!…
We were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who I think did everything as was the only one there. She was very helpful, gave us information on taxi's and buses. The guesthouse is on the outskirts, taxi was 15 Euros. The room was a decent size with a double and single bed in and a little conservatory room with a sofa and chair in. This was a nice touch to sit in, however, it let in a lot of light in the morning. There were tea and coffee making facilities and clean towels. The bathroom was very modern compared to the rest of the hotel, the only problem being there was no fan so mould had started to show on the ceiling. It did not cause any issues but will get more and more if not looked at. All in all a great stay. Breakfast was a mixture of cereal, fruit and a hot breakfast, lots of choice and very, very nice. Thank you…
The B&B is just outside the city centre, so be prepared for a 30 minute walk or pay for a taxi. We had our own bikes, so this made the process of getting to and from the city much easier. There are plenty of bike racks in the city centre, so you're able to lock them up while shopping or sightseeing. The room was well equipped, spacious and comfortable but at €150 per night, this is no more than I'd expect. Our room had access to a lovely garden and as we had great weather, it was perfect to sit in the evening with a glass of wine. The breakfast was very tasty and perfectly cooked and the staff were very attentive and pleasant.
First of all checkout it is 11:30am They started building works from 08:30am, the noise was incredulous. I've never stayed at a property where they can't even ask the builders to start at 11:30am when all guests have checked out. I was working in Cork on nights and expected a good sleep in. I have videos of the builder hammer drilling in the adjacent room at 10:20am, so loud I couldn't talk on the phone. Also this property is dated, looks like a old people's home, and quite frankly dangerous to enter, exit from the main road, don't get fooled by its high rating.
Despite all the restrictions over Covid Vince and his team make me feel very welcome and were very accommodating when my plans changed during my visit. I will be staying again hopefully when things change so I can get the full experience this hotel has to offer.
