Me and my boyfriend stayed the night in the Dean hotel for my birthday 22/01/2022 it was our second time staying their I have to say I was very disappointed this time around. We emailed week before to say could we have an early check in and I get not everyone gets an early check in as its a busy hotel, but when we arrived at 3.30pm we got told our room was not ready which was fair enough as check ins are not till 4pm which I think that is a very late check in for a hotel to have we got told to sit in the lobby and wait so we did but many guests had arrived before 4pm and got a room straight away. we then went to the desk at 4.30pm and got told again our room was not ready we explained our meal is at 5.45pm and we want to go to the pool as well but we wont have any time for anything eventually we got a manager and he got us a room the time we were up the room it was 4.45 we had less than a hour to get ready and out the door we were gone for dinner prior to that we rang a week before to say can we make a dinner reservation and got told inside was all booked up we had to sit outside bare in mind its freezing and the fact we paid €325 for our stay i taught it was unacceptable we had to go with 5.45. I was not impressed this time around i think if your paying €325 and staying away for one night well 19 hours as check out is 12pm its not worth it .We also got no robes or slippers in our room and 1 big towel and 2 small towels which is disappointed i wasn't happy with m stay as we didn't even have time to go to the pool in the end

Hi X7666KNrebeccaa, Thank you for the feedback from your stay. First of all, great to see that it was your second time staying with us and my apologies with the delay in getting you to your room. Yes, check in is 4pm at weekends and we do our best to have every room back by then. Sometimes that may run over slightly but for the most we have all rooms ready by then. In terms of Sophies we always recommend that our guests book their times as quick as they can if they want a particular time slot. Everyone wants to eat at 8pm but we can only take so many tables at that time. Once that time is full, we have to assign other times for guests. I appreciate the 5.45pm slot may not have suited you but with the restaurant so busy you need to really be a few weeks ahead in terms of booking. Many guests love the early time as the they have time after to relax in the Dean bar and listen to the DJ. Hopefully we will see you again and next time that we can get a preferred dinner time slot for you. Regards Shane

Check-in wasn't pleasent, as had to queue for quite some time through people having drinks in the lobby area bar. Didn't feel welcomed by the person checking us in. Food was very average. Breakfast service was slow, waited for hot chocolate for 15 minutes. The bed was very squeaky, noise from the trains plus general noise from the street, so didn't get much sleep. No slippers in the room and the floor is very cold especially in the bathroom. Definitely not worth 330 euro spent for the package of one night stay, dinner&breakfast for 2 people.

Hi JZandPB, Thank you for the feedback. We do our best to check in our guests as quickly as possibly but sometimes a lot of rooms arrive together and yes you may have to wait a few minutes which I am sorry for. I am disappointed to hear that you found the food average, perhaps next time you can try something different as we have an extensive menu that covers a wide range of items. In terms of our location we are right beside the train station so I am afraid from time to time you may hear a train go by. We hope to see you again soon. Regards Shane

Just home from having the most amazing night away in the Dean, cork. From the moment we walked through the door and left it this afternoon the staff were on point so friendly and also nothing was a problem. We had afternoon drinks in the bar downstairs followed by dinner in Sophie’s. The views of Cork were fab and again couldn’t fault the staff super friendly. We were celebrating a birthday and just mentioned it to the girl who waited on us and when we ordered dessert she came out with a candle on the brownie and 3 staff came and sang happy birthday, such a beautiful touch. The food was really tasty and not massive portions which suited us. We then went downstairs to the bar area again were there was a DJ playing the atmosphere was electric and everyone was in great form. Plenty of staff and we never had to wait long for them to take our drink order. I can not recommend this hotel enough and I can’t wait to go back again soon. Ideal for a girls weekend also which I think I’ll do that next !!!

We came to stay the night in the Dean for my birthday. We arrived early they made an effort to check us in early which was lovely. The team were very welcoming and attentive. When we came to the room they had a lovely birthday note in the room. The bed in the room was the most comfortable bed I’ve stayed in my life. I would definitely recommend for a city break stay.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed here and we LOVED it! The vibe as soon as we walked through the door was fantastic with staff greeting us and asking us how we were. The rooms were so lovely, clean and comfortable that it was a struggle to checkout the next day, we didn’t want to leave the bed. The service we received both at the reception bar and Sophie’s was incredible. The staff were really kind and had a bit of banter with us it was really nice. The food was also fabulous and the cocktails were even better. Overall we had a great time at the dean cork and would definitely stay again! 10/10
