We returned to Hayfield this manor following our first stay there in March 2018. There is not a single element of our stay that disappointed me, it was simply superb from start to finish. The staff at Hayfield are its major strength, they are all so warm, so although it's a 5 star hotel, it doesn't have a snooty or superior atmosphere. Staff were all very efficient and professional. We had room service breakfast ordered for between 8:30-8:45, and at 8:46 they rang to say breakfast was on its way and apologised for the delay!

One thing that really impressed me was the quality of the travel cot provided for our 2 year old son. I have often found that travel cots in other places we've stayed are an afterthought and in absolute rag order, with a cheap, thin, lumpy mattress which results in a broken night's sleep for him and us. However the one in Hayfield was extremely good quality and he slept until 8am on both mornings - this is a huge plus to people travelling with young children! The room service food was of extremely high quality, so although pricey when you consider the service charge, it was well worth it. We had a babysitter one of the nights and she arrived at the exact time booked.

The place runs like an extremely well oiled machine, I can't fault it in any way. We felt in very good hands and enjoyed our trip immensely. We can't wait to return!

My husband and I were delighted when Hayfieldmanor reopened for business after having to close because of COVID-19. We were the first to check in on the opening day and what a welcome back we got. Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. We dined in the Orchids restaurant that evening after having a light lunch in the hotel bar after checking in and were not disappointed. The food and service was out of this world. All the tables were spaced out and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made you feel safe at all times. John Burchill came around checking on all of the tables to ask the guests how they were doing and also to ask us if there was anything that the hotel could do better to ensure we had an amazing stay. Breakfast was exceptional and even though the buffet was gone we could still order anything we wanted from the menu. Again John came to the tables to ensure everyone was enjoying themselves and to see if there was anything he could do for us. We treated ourselves to some spa treatments on the day of our arrival and were able to book a slot for an hour in the pool just for the two of us. A huge thanks to John at hayfieldmanor and all of the staff for an amazing experience after so long not been able to go anywhere because of Covid-19. We will certainly be back sooner rather than later.

Hospitality done properly

Right now it’s a very hot and humid afternoon in Cork and while my partner is using the gym I a sitting in the hotel foyer watching the world go by and I thought I’d take the time to write this.

We arrived I Hayfield Manor on Monday evening after a 4.5 hour drive from Belfast (432 km / 268 miles). After navigating the narrow streets of the residential area surrounding it we arrived at the hotel and immediately understood why it is frequently referred to as an oasis. It looks really welcoming.

Valet parking was still suspended as part of the now relaxing COVID precautions but the valet staff was really welcoming and eager to help in any way they could. Check-in was quick and efficient and within minutes we were in our room 226, a recently renovated large room.

The first thing to say about this hotel is about the staff. This is a team of genuinely lovely, friendly people who provide a service in a very natural and unforced way. I particularly would like to mention Taodh, Orlaith who served us in our first night in Perrotts restaurant, and Cathy the team leader in Perrotts. People like them can really enhance a stay.

Room 226 is a large and airy room with three large windows looking on to the small gardens to the side of the property. There is a huge comfortable bed and a sitting area with two seater sofa and table. The built-in storage is modern and also ample but the most impressive thing is the bathroom. The bathroom is large, finished in marble, with double sinks, a very large shower, a large stand alone bath tub and a separate toilet cubicle.

Daily breakfast during our stay was between 8am and 11am and was served in either the Orchids restaurant or Perrotts, depending on crowd / demand. The food was great and I opted for the full Irish breakfast which was a very clean fry / mixed grill. Again, service was super friendly.

On two evenings of our three night stay we dined in Perrotts Garden Bistro. I have already mentioned the quality of the staff but the food did not disappoint. The ingredients are locally sourced and there is a nice mix available. This establishment seems to be favoured by locals as well as residents but I will write a separate review.

A COVID related observation: This property is spotless, rooms, dining areas and public restrooms. One morning after breakfast the Maitre d’ in Perrotts caught my eye when resetting a table after a breakfast sitting. He had no idea that I was observing him but the efforts he took in sanitising the table and chairs was amazing and reassuring. He took time to lift even the lamp off the table and use sanitiser on it before doing a very careful job on the table and chairs.

In summary this is a great hotel, clearly well managed and had a nice mix of age groups during our stay which provided us with a relaxing, dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere.

Nestled in the heart of Cork city, arriving thru the gates of Hayfield Manor is like stepping through a porthole. Away from the busy streets of Cork city yet right in the middle of the city, Hayfield Manor is a step away and into a world of relaxation second to none. The impeccably kept grounds that welcome you to the Manor give a true sense of anticipated relaxation, the typical Cork welcome by the doorman reinforces this. The building itself is beautifully furnished in traditional style while still being fit for it purpose of hospitality. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the room was very well presented. Only downside was the Shower/ Bath facility in the Bathroom which needs to be upgraded to modern walk in shower rather than the old shower over bath.
The bar and restaurant facilities were excellent, and the staff were second to none. The staff’s knowledge was impeccable regarding the food they were serving both on content and cooking methods which made the whole dining experience wonderful. Also, the staff were happy to relate what dishes on the menu were new and the fact that they were interested in feedback regarding them. Simply put the dining experience was wonderful.
Overall, our two-night stay was very enjoyable, made so by the wonderful staff who did everything to make it so and make sure guests were kept as safe as possible during the pandemic.

Visited Hayfield with five friends on July 31st 2020 for one night. We had two triple rooms. Location of hotel is fantastic. Just a 10 minute walk into town. Check in was easy. All hotel staff extremely friendly and welcoming, especially Frank who was particularly helpful and patient as we called on him numerous times to take pictures of us on the grounds of the hotel. Every hotel in Ireland needs a Frank and he made the visit to Hayfield all the more enjoyable. We requested a fridge for the room and it arrived within minutes. Room spotless and hotel is definitely following procedure for Covid without making guests feel overwhelmed. The hotel just has a very relaxed and calm atmosphere. We didn't eat in hotel, we walked into town. Had breakfast there and it was absolutely delicious. Staff so attentive, couldn't fault a thing. Outdoor jacuzzi was fab and we were lucky with the weather. The grounds are stunning and even sitting outside, staff were still attentive. Swimming pool was fab. Sauna and steam room closed for obvious reasons and found gym disappointing. I would highly recommend Hayfield and will definitely come back. Plenty of kids around too but I feel it is more of a hotel for couples or a girls night away. We will definitely visit again.

The Hayfield manor was an amazing staycation trip after staying indoors for a year and a half. The staff are all incredibly polite and the rooms are super clean. Upon arrival, we were promptly seen to and our bags were immediately taken up to the room. We were met with a packaged, cleaned remote, a note on how the room was disinfected as well as having a bottle of anti-bacterial in the room.

The food in the garden room was amazing! So worth making the reservation and not going into town

Overnight stay enroute to Ballymaloe. Had a wonderful visit. On arrival very friendly and welcoming. Taking care with distance, hand sanitisers, screens, and masks, so quietly reassuring in these strange times. Weather was glorious which allowed for an enjoyable stroll around the grounds. My room upgrade was lovely with a welcoming card and chocolates. Spotlessly clean, huge comfy bed, and very spacious immaculate bathroom.
2 sittings for dinner. I choose the earlier one, and was given a discreet table for one, which was great, and distancing of the tables ideal. I dined in The Perrot restaurant, and the food was delicious. Scallops with pea puree, Apple, and crispy bacon. It was without doubt one of the best starters I have enjoyed, so tasty. For main I choose chicken with herby potatoe mash, cooked to perfection, light and again great taste. And a lovely Chardoney to accompany.
Breakfast felt strange, to see empty tables on arrival. Obviously no buffet, which is nice to wander around and choose. But this is the guideline and safety utmost. Had a cooked Irish Breakfast with delicious bacon, and eggs cooked as asked which I really enjoyed. And lovely hot toast on request.
The Staff at Hayfield cannot be faulted. Smiles and friendliness all round. Duty Manager Paul went out of his way to accomodate me, which I appreciate. So thanks for that. Lovely blonde girl cleaning the rooms, big smiles and friendly words and very cheerful.
Have been to Hayfield many times over the years, and will look forward to another stopover when travelling around that part of Ireland staycationing. It's one of the best.

My partner & I had our food tasting in the Orchids restaurant Friday evening. From the minute we stepped inside the hotel the staff were very kind, welcoming and it seemed they were expecting us, as each member of staff knew who we were. They brought us to our beautiful table, where we had personalised menus along with a notepad and pen awaiting us. We enjoyed over 10 delicious dishes between us and it was very difficult to choose which meals to have on the day of our wedding as every meal was perfect! The bar man kindly helped me to choose the wine through our amazing waitress Tessa as I would not be a huge wine drinker and my partner isn’t a wine drinker at all. I had also mentioned to Fiona, the hotel wedding/event coordinator that we would come on that date to the food tasting as it was my birthday. She had organised an extra special treat to celebrate my birthday also, I was really taken back by her kind gesture and attention to detail. I am more excited than ever to have our wedding reception in the hotel now. I just know my guests will love the experience as much as we will.

Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay for our wedding anniversary. We availed of the superb value Corkonlyan offer which included free upgrade on your room,4 course dinner in the bistro from the al a carte menu, appertif at dinner, and a wonderful breakfast the next morning.

Our evening meal and breakfast were amongst the best meals we've had and my breakfast of brioche French toast was a highlight. Service for both was impeccable and so attentive. Surroundings were warm and relaxing.

The basis for 4 and not 5 stars was merely that the bed was sumptuously soft and luxurious but far too soft for me personally and not ideal when pregnant and it caused my sleep to be disrupted during the night.

Pool and jacuzzi were a lovely experience prior to check out and all staff were exemplary in their service.
