Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In for one night only, and chosen for its proximity (very close) to the Griffith College chapel, to attend a classical music event. The Address is in a beautifully restored and maintained 19th century red brick building with colonial architectural undertones which make it unusual in this part of the world. The interior is tasteful, and the "premier" room we had was large, airy and comfortable, with a pleasant bathroom. So, top marks for the accommodation. Check-in and -out were efficient and friendly and most of our interactions with staff were pleasant. We can't comment on the food and wine; unusually, in a hotel of this class, catering to "premier" guests, we could not be accommodated for dinner in the hotel's dining facility, McGettigan's, which also functions as a restaurant. In hindsight this was probably a mercy; it was heavily booked for Womens' Little Christmas, Nollaig na mBan, a peculiarly Irish tradition when men do the chores and women go out. Even when we got back from our concert we battled to find a spot for a nightcap, and we were unceremoniously chivvied away from any empty table we could find. I suppose you do lose your patience after an evening of dealing with thoroughly soused Irishwomen, of which there were many, making up for the other 364 days sobriety (I don't think) Also, in the sort of architectural oddity which can happen with buildings converted from their original purpose, an entrance/exit to a first-floor function room leads to an enclosed lift-lobby/landing outside some of the rooms (including ours), which attendees use for extremely loud greetings, farewells and cell-phone calls, which echo into the rooms. From my bath I heard with crystal clarity one side of an entire domestic dispute- entertaining, sure, but on balance I'd rather not have. In short, I'd happily use The Address again if I had reason the be in this part of Cork, and I'd checked on functions bookings, but it wouldn't be a go-to if I had business anywhere else in the city.

Very disappointing time this evening, order was wrong 3 times, mains didn’t come together and staff were hard to attract when needing to get their attention. It felt like we weren’t heard when ordering. It took from our Christmas night out. Definitely won’t be returning. The host was cold and uninviting on arrival.

Disappointing. The hotel itself is beautiful but certain staff were beyond rude. We attended a Christmas party function and stayed overnight. The food was average at best and we were made feel very unwelcome at times. Can not recommend.

Went to a business night out. Food was only ok. Cold to be honest. The issue I had was the bar. Ran out of cabernet sauvignon early in the night on a Friday??? Ran out of Tia Maria. Ran out of Bombay gin and was starting to run out of vodka 🙄. Served Coors in Heineken glasses. Dirty glasses all over the counter for hours. More security than bar staff in the place. Set up and outside looked beautiful. But no heaters on in smoking area . Just thought the whole set up could have been more professional

Everyone working here was very kind and helpful. The hotel itself was lovely and our room was comfortable. Updated bathroom, nice soft bed. Amazing view of the whole city from the walk-out balcony. The only downside was some partying noise from outside until 2am one night, but it was on a Friday so somewhat expected. We found it perfectly convenient and easy to walk to and from the city centre from here. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

This hotel has a very charming and welcoming old feel with all the modern amenities. We were there for four nights and enjoyed our stay in Cork. We knew that is was on a hill and walking back would be somehow more challenging but the view each morning, having our coffee on the balcony was worth it. And frankly, exercising is good. Our room was spacious, high ceilings and well soundproofed. The bathroom was spacious and modern. We didn’t have a small fridge but when we ask, they gave us a bucket of ice. When we travel the people we meet makes our journey memorable therefore we want to acknowledge some of the staff we met and made our stay in Cork a great one. First MARIA, at the reception. She was patient, welcoming and so friendly. She gave us recommendations, researched and print out timetables for trains, buses , restaurant menus … She went above and beyond. We read that someone found the reception bad it’s not true. Everyone were professional and great. At the bar we met MATEUS. What a hard working person. Busy but friendly and always smiling. Always ready to help with our need of ice buckets, extra wine glasses , napkins … Our maid was MARIA, she brought us more coffee pods, milk, towels … The room was clean and tidy. Great service. And at the end we met AMY, I hope I have her name right. She was the vice manager around. She was a positive and very approachable person. Making sure that everything was running smoothly. She closed at 10 pm and was there the following morning. We have met wonderful people in this hotel and would recommend anyone who doesn’t mind few more steps to stay there.

Yesteryear hotel with some recent refurbishment. Great sized rooms with great views over Cork , being on Military hill. A little distance from downtown Cork, 20 min. walk to centre Comfortable beds with shower/ bath Tea/ coffee making. High ceilings , our 2nd floor room had a balcony. The downstairs restaurant provides OK food for dinner and also serves as the breakfast room. Nice ambient hotel, would stay again
