The Address Cork garners appreciation for its blend of historic charm and modern amenities, with guests frequently lauding the clean, spacious rooms and the hotel's picturesque location. Notable for its comfortable beds and exceptional staff, the hotel offers a scenic backdrop that enhances its appeal.
While some guests find the older rooms a touch dated, the overall consensus is that the hotel provides good value. However, travelers should be mindful of the uphill trek to reach the hotel and the occasional disruptive nighttime music.

The day we went, there was an event at the hotel. So this is where I took off two points for the review. T
To get in, there were no proper signs on how to actually enter the hotel. Turns out you have to drive through the turn style, (it opens to go in, but to come out you have to have a code). The evening we checked in, there was an event going on at the hotel. Because of the event, the guests for the event had taken up the parking spaces and we had to get our car up in front, in the middle of the event guests and band playing music to get our luggage out. Then, we got blocked by more in coming guests for the event, and couldn't get our car out to park. The staff said to leave our car there and they would call us later to move the car. An hour later, they asked us to move the car, as there was someone else wanting to get their luggage out. We moved the car to the street, and then had to park it again later, when there was free hotel parking spaces (after the event guests left). There was another young man doing the same as us, clearly frustrated as we came in after a long drive and just wanted to relax.
SUGGESTION: Please don't have event guests park inside. They should park on the street. Hotel guests should have priority. When you have events, keep the front area clear, so luggage can be taken in and out by guests without the pressure of moving the car quickly and event guests blocking the entire area.
The second thing is the event hall played loud music until mid-night. Our room was facing the hall and we couldn't sleep till then. We were about to call reception, when the music stopped. It was a hot night and we had to keep the windows open for some air. Maybe adding a fan to the rooms, and making the windows sound proof would help.
Other than this, the restaurant was great. Loved the shelves with all the books. The service was okay. At times you have to wait and then call out to the servers as they walk by. But it was not too bad...and they were all friendly and efficient.
Front desk and reception the Ladies tried their best with everything happening, and were kind and patient. But the parking and getting our luggage out was frustrating. We were there only one night. The room was big and the lobby area spacious.

We recently had our wedding reception here and both the hotel and staff were second to none. The reception rooms and bedrooms were impeccably clean and the bridal suite was breathtaking. It was warm, welcoming and comfortable. The staff could not have been more accommodating and every dietary requirement was catered for including vegetarian, celiac and nut allergy. A young guest required a service dog and there was no issue with the dog attending. The food was the most gorgeous I've ever had and the timing between courses was perfect. If you are every looking for a wedding venue that stands out and will not break the bank, you can do no better than the address

My wife and I recently stayed for 2 nights at the address. The value was very good however it was not backed up with basic service that you would expect a Hotel that claims to be a 4 star. The lift was broken for the duration of our visit, and as we were checking in we were advised that the water in the hotel would be turned off from 21:00 until 03:00.. apparently this was a problem in the “area” but from staying at the ambassador (previously the address) there was water issues back then also. Staff were friendly and accommodating, however i found myself doing table service (clearing away our own empty glasses) as staff gathered around the bar chitchatting) also the young blonde manager sipping on a glass of coke as myself and my wife served ourselves,
Furthermore on our last day, my wife enjoyed a bath, and as she was drying her hair the hairdryer she was using blew up in her hand, I called reception and they immediately sent managers on duty to our room to see if she was ok, unfortunately there was no 1st aid responders on duty. Thankfully my wife was ok and we put the incident behind us as we wanted to enjoy our last evening. The manager waved the supplement on our steaks as a act of good faith,
All in all this seems like a bad review but if thee Address address these small issues we would return again as we have been for the last 12 years. Great location and food was fantastic.

Dear Danny E, I'm so sorry to have read your review of our wonderful Hotel following your stay here with us. Unfortunately our lift was out of service as we were awaiting a part and felt it would be a danger to our guests if we didn't do so for the duration, however if help was needed with your bags a member of our team would have assisted. There were planned water disruptions by Uisce Eireann on the evening of the 30th, totally out of our control. Please see link below: https://www.water.ie/news/uisce-eireann-advise-planned-outage-northside-cork-city. I will speak with the team on duty in the restaurant on Friday evening as to your comments regarding service, as this is not acceptable . My colleague and I attended to your wife after the incident with the hairdryer, she had gotten a terrible fright and we felt we had done everything we could, I also checked in on your wife again later when you were dining in the restaurant, Danny I can only apologise if you felt we hadn't done enough. If you would like to discus this further, please contact the Hotel. Kind regards, Jan Mitchell General Manager

I went here on my birthday with my partner and we stayed two nights, from the outside the hotel looks nice and on their website it said newly renovated. The room we stayed in was 116 and was in the older part of the building by my guess. it was not newly renovated.
There were damp patches on the ceiling in the bathroom, the cladding on the bath was breaking off, there were stains on the carpet in the room, and the mattress on the bed was worn and hung down in the center making it uncomfortable. The ventilation in the bathroom did not work and the entire room was covered in dust, so much that when my partner put his laptop on the table in the room it was white with dust on the underside when he picked it back up. the guest phone was also covered in dust.
We had booked the restaurant for dinner on my birthday and when we went there it was quiet (about 3 tables had guests during the time we ate) before eating my boyfriend approached a waiter and asked if he could bring out a cake for me that he had dropped of earlier in the day as it was my birthday. the waiter said it was no problem, this proved to be a lie.
For dinner I ordered medium steak, it came out raw, i will include a picture of it, and my boyfriend ordered a burger which was dry and felt like it was made with a frozen patty. they did not check on us while we ate. I didn't eat much of my steak as it was so raw. then when we finished they took our plates and left.
we sat there for half an hour (I kept an eye on the time as we wanted to go into town after. finally after a little over half an hour someone came and asked if we wanted the bill. my boyfriend said no and looked at him expectantly but he did not understand so he had to mention the cake he left and ruin the surprise.
the waiter then said he would go check and returned another 10 minutes later saying the waiter we had asked was now on lunch, then he left again and a few minutes after that he came out with the cake and said "I assume this is for you" and placed it in front of me before turning to leave at which point i said "wait can we have some plates and forks please?" He grabbed 2 side plates and forks from a nearby table and handed them to us before turning to leave again at which point I said "wait could we please have a knife too" so he quickly also grabbed a butter knife off the same table, handed it to me and left. We did our best to enjoy the cake but the dining experience had us in a poor mood at this point and it also ended up being too late for us to go into town and enjoy the evening of my birthday.
we payed extra for a club room so i expected the room to be extra nice. it was big but not nice and the bathroom was standard, the bathtub was small and the shower mount was so old that the shower head kept sliding down while we were trying to shower.
The experience cost about €500 for the two nights. the breakfast included was nothing special and was also somewhat dissapointing
I also sent an email to 2 of the email addresses they have on their website outlining the problems we had, i did not expect a refund only an apology but they did not even warrant me with a response.

We had a disappointing afternoon tea on Sunday. It was one we had been planning for a while as a family for a girly day out. When booking, the receptionist was so nice and helpful, as I explained it would be 1 gluten free guest, two children's afternoon tea (one having special needs and in a wheelchair). She noted this and let us know it is all wheelchair accessible. When we arrived there was some confusion as the restaurant did not realise that it was afternoon tea, they were very apologetic and explained there would be a bit of a wait but that the drinks would be included. That staff member was just finishing his shift but explained he had spoken to kitchen and manager. Again, the waitress was apologetic seating us and took our drinks order. These things can happen and we said that it was fine and had a few jokes about it. When the afternoon tea arrived there was the children's, gluten free and other adults. The gluten free was meringue, brownies, scones and 3 muffins on the bottom tier. We got their attention and asked was there not any sandwiches for the gluten free. They went and said this to the kitchen and returned with plain ham sandwiches and lettuce and red onion. The regular afternoon tea had sweet chilli and chicken wraps, ham, cheese and salad sandwiches, coronation chicken and a smoked salmon. We got our coffee and tea a bit after the afternoon tea arrived and were never asked if we wanted a second cup. When settling the bill, the drinks, coffees/tea and adults afternoon teas were on it. We explained that the drinks were included. The coffees and tea were removed but the manager came and explained we would have to pay for the drinks but were only charged for the adults and not the children's afternoon teas. This would have been fine if this is what they had said when we arrived but it wasn't. It worked out the same so was the same discount as the drinks were €9 for prosecco x2, €3.30 for soft drinks x 2 and €1 for cordial. I would imagine the tea/coffee are included anyway seeing as it is afternoon tea. It was just that they had not said this. Also the gluten free option was different and seemed strange to give 3 muffins instead of making sandwich and then not having the same fillings as the regular afternoon tea. We had commented on how lovely the setting is, friendly staff and how it would be nice for a lunch or dinner but would be slow to return.

I spent a night in the hotel with a friend over the weekend. We had booked in via one of the deals on the website and we were very excited about the stay, purposefully choosing somewhere we could eat and drink for the night.
On arrival we were very happy with the location and we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was ready at 2pm (an hour early). The city is less than a 10minute walk, and although it’s a steep uphill walk to get back to the hotel it was a lovely walk on quiet, clean streets. The train station was also only 5minutes away which makes the location even better again.
We were, however, disappointed that not all details of the deal were fulfilled in regards to the room.
The room was also not cleaned properly (stubble hairs on the side of the sink, black wool on the white bed covers, dusty surfaces etc.)
There were instant coffee sachets and tea bags but no kettle, and there was a coffee machine but no coffee pods. When I tried to get hot water out of the coffee machine to make the coffee with the sachets it was brown and clearly the machine hadn’t been cleaned or even rinsed through in a very long time.
The dinner was lovely, and the dinner staff were all fantastic, friendly, helpful and provided a great service, especially Dean and Angelbert.
Unfortunately, the cocktails were terrible and we decided to leave to drink somewhere else, despite purposefully booking this hotel with the intention of spending the entire evening there.
Breakfast was also disappointing, there were no pastries left by the time we arrived for our booking and I had to ask for bowls for the fruit/cereal as there were none provided at the buffet. The eggs were really tasty but we couldn’t eat the sausages or hash browns.
Overall quite disappointed with the stay and not what I would expect for the price we paid.

It's a nice hotel, close to town, very modern check in and bar area. Check in was seamless and girl on reception was so polite and chatty.
1. Location - About 1km to the town centre but it's on a very steep hill for anyone with walking issues etc Taxi's are quick and cost no more than €10 to town
2. Room - Very large room, comfortable bed and all the usual amenities in the shower. Lovely coffee machine etc. Lacked pods and had to request these. Room was very dusty and needed a good clean. Everywhere from the top of the bed, coffee machine, phone, window ledge and bathroom areas had thick dust on them and absolutely baffled as to how they were missed and for how long also as it didn't look a day or two worth
3. Bar - Really modern are, great staff and lovely selection of drinks. Food was fantastic and staff were so attentive
Our other issues were with key cards which deactivated after one day and had to go and get them fixed. And our room was never cleaned. We were advised to put the "Tag" for wanting the room cleaned on the front of the door if we required it but it was ignored and again had to go and get toilet roll and fresh towels from the housekeeper.

Stayed 3 nights, received a free upgrade from our executive double to an executive with balcony. Nice room, well equipped but some decor was a tad tired. Very clean and very comfortable bed. Lovely staff, all very pleasant and more than competent. Restaurant offered usual options, portions are generous. Breakfast offering was good/average. Only negative I have is concerning the dining area. Twice a service trolley came rattling through the main thoroughfare to the kitchen, on another occasion a member of the domestic team pushed her bucket through the same route to fill it up walking back through with her full bucket, and whilst we were eating our breakfast a waitress was sweeping up the tables directly around us. While I accept cleaning has to be done I feel eating a meal that is costing 100+ euros should be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere…. Save the above for McDonalds!

Spent two nights in the Address Hotel (formerly The Ambassador) recently. We got a very good deal for our stay – two nights B&B and a 2-course meal and cocktails on one evening. This is a lovely hotel situated on a very steep hill. Nowhere does steep hills like Cork City does!! Check in was prompt and pleasant, and full marks to the Address for having such strict compliance Covid-19 requirements and for observing serious social distancing. It made us feel quite secure. Our room was very big and clean, well-stocked with everything – even hospitality tray, which is unusual as lots of hotels have dispensed with the hospitality tray in the aftermath of the virus. A very generous sized flat screen TV was on the wall, and the spacious bathroom was also well stocked. The hotel hairdryer was surprisingly strong, which again is unusual. One thing I loved was the amount of power sockets. They were everywhere and the ones each side of the headboard also had USB ports in them. Great altogether. Bed was comfy and sleep quality very good. Breakfast was also good, hot meals are cooked to order, and I ordered the pancakes on the first morning. I really l didn’t like them hot at all. They were dry and unpalatable, rather like blotting paper (which I have never eaten by the way!). Ordered a fry the second morning and it was very good. There is a small breakfast buffet with cereals, pastries, juices etc and only occupants from one table at a time were allowed to be up there helping themselves. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay here and would come again. There is a lot of history attached to this hotel and to this particular area of Cork city and is very worthwhile investigating it. It is about a 15 minute or so walk into the city, but remember it is all downhill. You won’t walk back in that time as you will be on a steep climb! We dined in the city on our second night and got a taxi back – it cost us €7.50 and was worth every penny. There are also buses, but the taxi took us straight to the main door, so that won out. Seriously, walking back up the hill is quite arduous so do take care. We loved the Address and gladly recommend it. Staff were cheerful and friendly at all times.

Public areas are beautiful and the staff were all friendly and pro active. Having caught an early flight, we managed to beat our 3pm check in and be in our room for 10.45am which is surely some sort of record, and one they can be very proud of! Rooms are a very good size (could do with a few more coat hangers though), nice bathroom and a VERY comfortable bed.
Walkable to the city centre but a bit of a trek coming back uphill. Plenty of taxis knocking about though, 25€ from the airport and 10€-15€ from the city centre
