Stayed here with 2 mates on a boozy weekend away. It's not the Ritz. It's somewhere to put your head down after the sesh. There's a Hillbillies chicken shop only a few yards down the road, so for that alone you should consider staying here. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and we couldn't hear all the noise from the bar beneath us - which was nice. Check in was easy, and they offered discounted drinks at the bar! There was one guy staying here while we were here who made us uncomfortable, but luckily, we weren't sharing a room with him.

The place is just one block away from the river that crosses the city, pretty close to the bus station, next to the city centre, but I found hard to sleep over there because of the fleas on the beds, the hostel has one pub inside and it could be noise sometimes, still s one of the most popular hostel... Booked the Bru Hostel for a night as I was in Cork. Unfortunately, and I speak as someone who has stayed in countless hostels both in Cork and throughout Ireland and the UK I encountered very poor service from start to finish of my stay at Bru. Stay at nearby Siles Hostel if your going to Cork its cheaper and... More

I really enjoyed my night in this hostel. All the staff were really lovely, and went out of their way to help. The dorm rooms were good value for money, and were spotlessly clean. The kitchen was really useful, and had free wifi, free hot drinks and free breakfast as well as a seating area with vending machines. The bar... More

As far as a hostel goes Bru has everything your looking for. Clean rooms, friendly staff close location to bus and train stations, and a great bar with live music every night downstairs. For the price and what you get, really no where better in Cork to stay.

One night stop in Cork. The hostel has a bar down stairs and we stayed in a 4 female dorm (2 beds booked). The room was clean and small on the second floor. About €16/18 a night. (No plugs by the bed but there is a light). Breakfast was plain. Cereal tea coffee and toast. There is a Spa Shop... More

Loved the central location of the hostel and felt very very safe there. The bar downstairs is well ran and well maintained. I had a lot of fun with the nightly live music. The hostel is very centrally located to lots of good food and some tour areas such as Paddy Wagon tours. It's also about a 10 min easy... More

Went to The Bru for drinks and live music, what a great place! With music playing and people enjoying a drink listening away I was greeted by 2 great bar maidens ( Mide and Aoife ) who were a great laugh and happy to serve us, my wife and I had a drink or two and would come back here... More

I stayed in a private room with a friend. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were mostly helpful and friendly. Breakfast included was good. The bar was cool and welcoming with discounts for residents. The hostel has a good feel. Would recommend to those visiting in Cork.

Thank Mel F
