Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This modern hotel is located in downtown Cork and close to shopping. The rooms are comfortable and well-presented, and some offer views of the canal located just across the street. Street noise from cars can be a little distracting, but generally, this is a comfortable hotel.

Great hotel, very central and staff are excellent. Easy check-in, even checked us in early. Only minutes from the city centre. Good breakfast with great coffee. Cocktails looked good but didn't have any. All in all a great place to stay in Cork and would definitely stay again.

This hotel was nice but an item went missing from our room and despite myself and my boyfriend both emailing them about it they have totally ignored the emails. This is disgusting customer ‘service.’ Oh, and the fire alarm went off at 5.30 am one night. That could probably happen anywhere, but it didn’t help my impression of the place. Mind you, if they had any customer service, it would be a nice place to stay. Do things often go missing from rooms here I wonder? Who knows when they just ignore guests telling/asking them about it.

This hotel will be hard to review because I had mixed emotions. Some things I loved, and some I hated, so I'll start with the lobby or, instead, the non-existence of a lobby. A couple of chairs in the lobby are not very enticing for sitting around a fireplace and visiting and reading; It was very business-like. So check in and get out of our way. It was not inviting at all. The room itself was tiny. However, it did have very comfy beds and great pillows. There were USB ports everywhere, and with 3 of us wanting to charge our devices, this was great! There wasn't any water offered in the room and no mini frig. The a/c, although appreciated, kept shutting off during the night, which made for interrupted sleep. We had to keep getting up to turn it back on. Very annoying. Also, the room had inferior lighting. It seemed very dark. However, it did have a nice bathroom, but the soap, conditioner, and shampoo were 3-in-1. Therefore, I would not recommend using it. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, not very good at all. Now, let's talk about parking. The car park was far away, Be ready to walk a long distance. It was ridiculous. The location was great, close to shopping and restaurants—more of a business-style hotel. Would I stay in this hotel again? No, I would not. It was not an inviting space at all.

Booked two rooms & prepaid for both, arrived at the hotel, reception asked for a card so any extras could be added, checked out everything ok, two days later a payment for €210.90 showed on my bank statement, have contacted the hotel on numerous occasions, but no reply, my bank are involved now so hopefully this will soon be sorted

Although I had booked a 'deluxe double and single room' for my 3 daughters, it was only a double room with a collapsible bed wheeled in at the last minute which stayed in the entrance of the bedroom for the 3 nights of the Easter weekend. Their window looked out at the wall of the adjacent building so the room was very dark and not a pleasant place to stay at all. I had asked for adjoining rooms but none were available. I was told the hotel was full and these were the only rooms available even though I booked in January. There are no toiletries offered, only a soap dispenser in the shower and sink. There are no facecloths, umbrellas (it lashed rain all weekend) or sewing kits. The breakfast is plentiful but mediocre with powdered eggs and low quality sausages. The staff were nice and helpful . And the hotel is well located. However, given the cost of the rooms. we paid over €200 per room per night, there was a general feeling of bargain basement hospitality. We will not be returning.

We stayed here for 2 nights for our mini moon. It was our first visit to cork and we loved it. The location was perfect.. It was a 5 minute walk to the main Street where all the shops and restaurants were. We had breakfast which was served in the main restaurant. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We loved our stay and will look to book again with Maldron.

Great hotel and friendly staff. Shelly at reservations was great sorting out our large group and checking us all in. Central location, perfect for St Patrick’s Day. Brilliant value for money, would recommend.

Hotel location is amazing! Visited cork for my birthday with 5 friends, we had 2 triple rooms that were interconnected (upon request) and this was a huge benefit to our rooms. I had requested early check in due to our early flight arrival and was told this couldn’t be guaranteed but upon arrival the rooms were available which was amazing! The rooms were almost identical. Spacious and extremely comfortable beds! The bedding was lovely quality and bathrooms sizes were both good (one with bath and overhead shower and the other a walk-in shower) water pressure was also good. Only issues we had were that only 2 towels were left on the second day in both triple rooms. The water was cool on the first morning but lovely and hot the second morning so assume it was just pure volume of people as the hotel was pretty full for st Patrick’s day. The breakfast was good value when prebooked but I’m glad we didn’t have it both days as the farmgate cafe in the English market was delicious and shouldn’t be missed. I had read some reviews about noise and given it was paddy’s weekend expected this to some degree. We were in rooms 502+503 which were close to the lifts and I think in the centre/back of the hotel. There was some street noise but I wouldn’t describe it as excessive. All of the staff we encountered on our visit were extremely friendly and accommodating and the person who checked us in went above and beyond to make sure we were able to access our rooms. Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.
