Stayed here for 3 nights in January 2020. It's only about 15-20min drive by car from Cork Airport. The hotel is fairly new and very clean. It's accessible and has a wheelchair lift right at the entrance, an automatic side door and revolving door on entry. In fact everything felt like it had been well thought out with slighter wider than average doors, walk in showers and a toilet slightly higher making it easy to get up from, if that's important for you. Beds were extremely compfortable and the nights quiet, were were on the 5th floor and it was a quiet time in Cork generally so can't comment as to the noise at other times of the year. Plenty of sockets in the rooma nd a phone if you need reception. Curtains work really well and keep the room nice and dark.

Reception staff are very friendly helpful and effecient and nothing is too much trouble. A smile and a sweet treat await you on arrival at reception. Check in is straightforward and has the usual card key which you need for both the lift function and door entry.
We had booked breakfast with our booking and we were very impressed. All self service with plenty of choice for everyone, everything tasted fresh, there's the usual cooked breakfast items, which we found never tasted overdone or like they'd been left under a heater too long. If that's not for you then there are plenty of baked goods, pastries, cereals yoghurt, honey, toast etc and of course fruit juices and tea and coffee. Lots of seating in the dining area. We used to take some pastries with us for later as we explored Cork, which were very nice. Tea and coffee making facilities in your rooms, really clean rooms and bathrooms are spotless, some towels a little tired looking but that didn't bother us as they were clean. Didn't see cleaning staff but rooms were tidied and restocked everyday when we returned so all good there. There's ahair dryer and iron with board in your room.
One of the real assets of the Hotel is it's location. You can walk to anywhere from here really. Nights out you won't really need to walk further than 15 mins or less to get to a lot of the pubs and bars which serve great food and music. Car rental is also about 15 min walk away in the Victorian Quarter. There are buses near the hotel and walking around for shopping is really easy being lots of streets and roads inter connecting and you'll soon know your way around. Lovely place to visit and a great Hotel to see it form.

I have stayed in over 25 hotels in Ireland for work over the years but this is the first time I am ever writing a hotel review as I felt the customer service was exceptional.
The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean with fine attention to detail with great in room amenities and a lovely rainfall shower.
On my past visits, I have enjoyed the buffet breakfast but due to the Covid-19 pandemic the staff have had to adapt to a table service. They have done so flawlessly; breakfast was well organized even at busy peak times in August, and staff always gave a friendly welcome. There is a wide variety of choice for table service breakfast with both continental and hot food options and you can order as much you want. Additionally, I was impressed with the additional hygiene measures in place and the staff thoroughly sanitized the tables and chairs between customers, all wore masks, and I felt comfortable and safe.
The added bonus of this hotel is the prime location for both business and leisure, in the heart of the City Centre with businesses, restaurants and retail outlets within a few minutes walk.
Particular thanks to Donna, Nigel and Samantha for going above and beyond, and attending to all my requests and particularly for accommodating my individual needs during a recent long term corporate stay. Many thanks also to Emanuel, Patricia and all of the management and staff at the Maldron South Mall for making this an enjoyable stay.
I am already looking forward to my next visit!

The room was spotless with a sticker on the door showing it had been sanitized. We checked in online making it quicker in the reception. The bathroom was great and the showers and amenities were perfect. The tv in the room was very big making it convenient for us to watch tv . The room came equipped with a hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Would 10/10 recommend and we are planning another visit for next month!

The Maldron hotel in cork is probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. We arrived in August 2020 following the temporary easing of covid restrictions and our stay was exceptional from start to finish. It is now July 2021 so I can’t remember the names of staff but all staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. We checked in and got up to our rooms which had a sticker on the door, indicating it has been cleaned and sealed to prevent any covid spreads. We entered the room and it was clear to see that the notice on the door was 100% true. The smell of cleaning sprays was still strong in the room. The room was modern and spacious for 2 people. A large window from floor to ceiling providing a great view was a nice addition. The bathroom and it’s facilities were incredible and the tv was the most modern ive seen in a hotel. Not to mention the comfortable bed and coded safe for belongings and that extra peace of mind. The next morning at breakfast the service was again exceptional. Although the traditional buffet was out of action due to social distancing the breakfast menu was extensive and nothing was a problem for the staff. From fry’s to continental breakfasts and warm and cold beverages the menu had everything. We were that impressed we opted for dinner in hotel rather than one of the many restaurants situated around us. Again, dinner was of the same high standard that was set at breakfast. The young waitress was incredibly friendly to everyone and her positive and welcoming personality was the highlight of our meal. The hotel itself is in a central location- parking is about a 5 minute walk across the river lee. This may be a problem for those who are unable to travel back and forth. However the parking is secure with automatic doors, only allowing access to car users that have a ticket. Overall an extremely positive stay, I personally would not stay anywhere else in cork. The service and facilities are exceptional for the reasonable price. 5/5

Booked executive king room, found it to be very small and pokey, no bath tub, no coffee in room, 2 small bottles of water for duration of stay. Went to the restaurant bar on both nights, on both nights we sat in the outside area and even after reminding staff we were there we were never served, ended up going elsewhere to eat. Reception staff were very nice to be fair. Room not worth the money in my opinion.

Dear Linsey101, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts of your recent stay with us. I am very disappointed to read of your experiences during your stay and that you didn't like your bedroom. Our executive rooms range in sizes and some have the walk in rainfall shower and others have baths so we can accommodate all of the different requests we get. My apologies your room didn't have a bath but we can of course give one to you on request! I am sorry to read the team didn't serve you in our courtyard. It has been full quite a lot recently due to the wonderful weather and I will speak to the team on ensuring all of our guests are served in a timely manner so you can enjoy the fresh air! I do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back again Many thanks Samantha Stewart Deputy General Manager

I was staying here for a night while meeting some old friends and we got a great value dinner, B&B deal, so straight away, full marks for value...

The hotel itself is quite new and is clean and fairly nicely appointed (nothing spectacular, but fine for the price). The food was quite good, and the breakfast was varied and plentiful.

What really stood out for me, and what earned this hotel a 5-star rating was the staff:
Reception staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating - they even got us three rooms close to each other on a busy weekend!
Restaurant staff were also very good. There was one mistake made (my steak was cooked medium instead of rare), but they were REALLY quick to react when I pointed it out, and both the waitress and the manager apologized for the mistake.
Accommodation manager (Aga) was fantastic - I forgot my toilet bag when checking out, and when I contacted the hotel to see if they had found it, she was very quick to locate it on their lost and found system and made clear arrangements to let me pick it up later.

In general, I find that, regardless of the facilities of a hotel, if the service is good, the stay will be good. And here, the service was GREAT!

Upon arrival at check in we received a warm welcome from staff & management before being directed to our fabulous spacious spotless generous rooms on the 8th floor where we found 2 large very comfortable beds in each room and big spotless bathrooms. We all slept soundly & didn’t hear a thing from the street which we were pleasantly surprised with as it is so central. The service in the bar was excellent & the staff were very pleasant although under pressure as it was busy each time we visited. We found the staff at breakfast so helpful & friendly but the food was disappointing overall and due to covid the amount of packaging being used was so disappointing.
The location of the hotel is excellent as you are literally minutes away from the city centre,There are plenty of sanitising areas dotted around the premises for your perusal.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend the hotel and we will most definitely return.

Stayed here the weekend of The Ireland v Wales rugby match a few weeks ago.
At the risk of falling into the usual cliches let me start with the phrase. “ Location, Location, Location “
The hotel is perfectly situated being only a two minute walk from Oliver Plunkett St, with all it’s fine restaurants, bars, shops, English Market etc.
To be honest , for the price we paid ( part of an Irish Times deal ) we were at most expecting a 3 star budget quality hotel.
Indeed the opposite is the case. Be in no doubt that this hotel is way above that standard, the standard and size of the room far exceeded expectations. Great common areas, ,great food, we ate there on the Sat evening , and great staff being attentive all the time. This one is hard to beat.
Many thanks to Nikki on the front desk who is a great asset.

Stayed for 2 nights, clean and fresh amenities. Air conditioning so very handy during heatwave. Free bottles of water
Food in hotel was very tasty. Couldn’t get room cleaned unless all personal stuff was packed into a cupboard so they could spray the whole room first.
No view at all from our room.
Friendly staff
Good location, walking distance from main streets.
Parking about 5 min walk and hotel do a deal for it.

Is there free parking
Answer from Evelyn M

The parking was subsidised.I paid 14 euro and then 12euro for a taxi over because we had lots of lugage and I had to drive for ages to get back to the hotel to pick up my passengers ..The location of the Maldron was very good but the inconvenience of the parking spoilt my entire experience there.
