Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely fantastic food. We had the taster menu which was €80 for two people, so good value. What they do with vegetables here is unbelievable. The staff are lovely too. A big treat for my vegetarian sister who usually has to do with soup and chips.

Horrible absolutely horrible staff, I was never treated so bad my entire life. The moment we walked in the staff Sam was extremely rude with us. He was agitated and in the end of the day he invited us to leave we didn’t eat anything and we left with the most horrible experience we ever had

They only a couple of rooms. Both are comfortable and quirky. Novel but excellent breakfast. Organic soap and shower gel – a bonus! And the restaurant downstairs is as eccentric as ever. In short: we love this place, and will return.

Took a last minute trip to Café Paradiso in Cork city, and decided to book into the guesthouse. The food, drink and service in the restaurant were excellent and the guesthouse was gorgeous. The breakfast in bed the next morning was a great addition, and we were happily surprised by the delivery of fresh pastries. The room also featured a rainfall shower which is always a welcome addition.

Based on Cafe Paradiso's reputation, we expected a memorable and inventive evening meal and I was not dissapointed. Such gorgeous delicious food that I ordered all the cookbooks as soon as I got home! But it was the guest room really exceeded our expectations. We anticipated an ordinary adequate plain room over the restaurant. I knew there were only two rooms. No way to book online so I had to call to reserve. We couldn't believe our eyes when we opened the door. Lovely large room with three big windows overlooking the street. Every item of the the furnishings was carefully chosen, maybe curated is the right word. Darling little frig with breakfast makings. Plus they brought us fresh berries and bread and Irish cheese. Little French Press coffee maker with freshly ground coffee and divine Irish milk and butter. Comfortable bed, nice pillows, big duvet. Heavenly spot in a good area of town. Caught some great local music at a nearby pub (An Spailpín Fánach) on recommendation of Paradiso staff. Wish we had planned for several nights.

Lovely atmosphere, good restaurant staff, really imaginative delightful vegetarian feast. And the rooms are thoughtfully lovely - nice space, spotless, no TVs, stereo with nice selection of CDs, and breakfast to self serve at your leisure. Why aren't more places like this? Really special.

Room and staff were lovely. Breakfast goodies were left in the fridge for us while we were out for the evening - yoghurt, granola, cheese, fruit, freshly-squeezed OJ, lovely coffee and pastries... Husband is a full-Irish-breakfast man, but he said it was the best breakfast he'd ever had!
