Detailed Reviews
A very pleasant 3 day stay at this comfortable and welcoming accommodation . We arrived late, around 10, but there was someone there to welcome us and give us appropriate information, including a map and recommendations for places to eat and drink.
Breakfast from a varied menu was excellent and freshly cooked.
Location was quite central and within walking distance of the town centre.
Best of all, our host, Tim, insisted on driving us to the airport on our final day as taxis were not operating due to many disruptive road closures because of the Big Event, the Cork Marathon.
Many thanks for an enjoyable stay.
Patricia and Michael McMonagle.

We came for a long weekend having hired a car at the airport. Although the rear carpark was full, there was ample room within the front of the property. We had a lovely welcome from Tim who provided some great recommendations for pubs etc. The double room was spacious and well appointed with a roomy wardrobe, dressing table with mirror over and kettle tea, coffee and biscuits provided. The bathroom was very adequate, although a little tired. The shower was plenty powerful, easy to use and hot. Breakfast was served in probably the best BB dining room we've ever been to. Café style, Aideen was very attentive and the food excellent. Altogether, a great stay and highly recommended.

The bed was huge and quite comfortable. The room was very clean. The heating was on, but adjustable. The breakfast was made to order and very tasty. The owner was very friendly.
It's only 10min walk from the city center and there are many nice restaurants and pubs a few minutes away - and also free parking. Will definitely be back.

Shabby. I'll maintained. Bathroom had major problems with shower, basin, tiles, drains & window.
Breakfast choice was porridge or a range of cooked breakfasts. No cereals, fruit, croissants etc.
The price was too high for the service provided.
The only good things were the clean beds, the car parking and the proximity to the city centre.

Lovely comfortable bed, bathroom was very modern. Great location plus Tim gave us some brilliant tips on the best places to go. The breakfast choices were amazing, and huge portions. I had the smoked salmon with scrambled egg one morning and it was a full salmon fillet, smoked the traditional way plus the eggs were perfect, slightly loose and well seasoned instead of bland and dried out as you so often experience.
Overall a really good experience, thank you Anam Cara!

This is a very nice place, clean and comfortable. It's walking distance (5-15 minute's) to in town sights, shopping, bars, and restaurants. The couple that owns it were very helpful and the included breakfast very good. Free parking also! It's a college area, so a bit of noise on the weekend nights with the windows open.

Nothing to be impressed by. Ok, if you just need a place to sleep close to the center. Free parking behind the house and good wifi. Clean room and bed. The place is somewhat worn down. Breakfast heavy and very old fashioned with mainly meat and fish, hardly any fruit or vegetables. Seems like they’ve stopped in time about 20 years ago. Service ok.

Located a reasonable 10-minute walk from the Cork city centre. Parking available in back. The room, although reasonably clean, was quite small and dated. Have to haul luggage up steep, narrow stairs. Did not find the host to be overly friendly/welcoming.

We stayed her for one night while visiting Cork. The location is great. It's a short walk from the city centre as well as from the lovely Fitzgerald park, which is a nice place to have a lunch. The room was comfortable and clean. We got a very nice welcome, with recommondations for dinner, drinks and things to do. Breakfast was good as well.

The reviews are deceiving. This is a dirty poorly kept B&B. Layers of dust on window sills & wall pictures. Carpets in room and stairs filthy. The mattress was old and sunken however the bed Lenin was clean. Timber panelling missing in two areas by window with concrete brick wall exposed. Latch broken on press door to access kettle. Tea bags not wrapped and unhygienic as may have been handled by previous guests. Clean towels in room but did not risk taking a shower as area unclean. Door lock not very secure & no reception to return key next day. Full amount (€60.00) taken at time of booking so no option to checkout and go elsewhere. Neither was there anyone available to complain to. Stale odour in room & throughout premises, this odour lingered on my hair and clothes the following day. Breakfast was choice was ok - cooked breakfast only available, no continental options. Given filth of premises did not order breakfast as standard of cleanliness in kitchen uncertain. Expensive (€60.00 for solo traveller) and represented poor value for money. Surrounding street filthy also and littered with excretiment which made walking on pavements difficult - this is an issue for the city council however business owners have a responsibity also. Will never stay in B&B in Ireland again.

"We were at the front of building so had road noise when window was open. Once closed the soundproofing was excellent."Read full review
"Room 10 - very quiet double room at the back of the house, will definitely be asking for it again!"Read full review
"I had room 6 - ground floor to the front - not a problem for me as I'm used to the student nightlife sounds of Cork but if not be prepared for a certain amount of noise - keep windows closed. There is a boiler or pump beside the room on a cycle of some sort so difficult to get to sleep although didn't disturb once I feel asleep. The room could do with painting and I could actully slip my stockinged fool all the way under the door there is so much of a gap. There is no bin in the bathroom only the room itself - fine for me as I was travelling on my own but not really hygenic for more than one."Read full review
