Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

My 22-year old son and I stayed one night at the DavMar B&B on a recent trip to southern Ireland. I have stayed in B&B's in 6 different countries in Europe many times over the past 30 years, and would rate the room as among the best. What this purpose-built B&B lacks in old-world charm (as compared to a 400 year old period home in Venice, for example) it makes up for in clean facilities, comfortable beds, ample ensuite bathroom facilities (ours was shower only), excellent FULL breakfast, and extremely friendly and accommodating owners. We found the distances from the DavMar to the village and castle reasonable (5 and 8 minutes, respectively), but we enjoy walking at a brisk pace (my son is youthful and very fit, while I am road-proven and obstinate!). We would recommend that the DavMar re-calibrate their descriptions of distances ("times to locations" are too dependent on the approach and fitness of individuals) from the main road, village, and castle - these seemed just a bit farther than presented online and in emails. But this one issue is a minor point, compared to the facilities, breakfast, and amiable hosts. We would return to the DavMar, should we visit Blarney again under similar circumstances.

We stayed here for only one night sadly but it was 100% worth it. We rented a car and was traveling from Dublin to Galway and decided to stay the night in Blarney before doing the castle. The room was spacious and cozy and very clean. The oweners are a family and super friendly. Theres plenty of hiking trails around there and your only about 15min walk into the town of Blarney where you can find lots to eat and drink.
Free parking is on site and it was so nice to have a queit get away from all the other cities we had stayed in.
Would love to come back!

You have to drive into Blarney from this B&B so I think it is a little overpriced for the quality of the service. Check in is a bit late (16h15). The room size and cleanliness was good but the towels are of poor quality and our TV didn't work.

Me and two of my girl friends stayed at this lovely b&b last night for the jazz festival The owner is so nice and so accommodating. The rooms are spotless and beds are very comfortable. It’s close to the city and the grounds are kept beautifully. It’s very reasonably priced even on weekends that have a lot going on this b&b doesn’t try to over price their guests which is excellent. Would highly recommend.
Thanks a million Margaret well done on this top class service.

We stayed at the Davmar B&B after visiting Blarney Castle. The residence was right up the street in a lovely and secluded location. The hosts were very nice. We loved the cool breeze and the chirping birds. There are 4 rooms but it was very quiet. We never even knew anyone else was there. The private bathroom was very nice and I LOVED the water pressure! It was like a massage for my head! Breakfast was nice. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

David was really wonderful! We arrived very late and he accommodated us regardless. The room was very lovely, very nicely decorated, and very clean! Breakfast the next morning was delicious and plentiful. Our only regret is not being able to spend more time here!!

Also, as in all of the B & Bs we stayed at, keep in mind that walls are thin and packing ear plugs is recommended for light sleepers. This is in no way the B & Bs fault. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

Location is super convenient to begin Ring of Kerry and for visiting Blarney Castle.

My fiancée and I had spent the weekend in Dublin and drive down to Cork for a couple of days we stayed in this lovely little bed and breakfast. We arrived and were met by the very friendly Margaret, she showed us round and explained everything we needed to know and then took us to our room. They have four rooms all with ensuite. Our room was tidy and had everything we needed for a basic stay. The ensuite was tidy and clean.
Unfortunately for us when we arrived it was all over the news that hurricane Ophelia was due the next morning! We hit up and had a really lovely Irish breakfast made by Margaret. There was a choice of cereal too and fresh orange juice and coffee and tea.
Once breakfast was over we stayed in our room as everyone was being advised to stay in doors. Within a few hours the electricity went off and we had very little we could do. We went and sat in the communal sitting room and read a book. The weather was awful and trees were falling down and blocking roads.
Despite us having no electricity and not being able to go out Margaret and David came and made sure we were ok and even gave us some lunch when they didn’t need to. They were so accommodating.
We went out that eve when the storm died down although still no electricity. When we finally came back about 10pm the power was back on but roads still blocked with fallen trees. The next day again Margaret and David could not have been more helpful as we needed directions to find a location and were aware that trees were down David gave us a number of options and we left and managed to get to where we needed to be and avoid all the fallen trees. So I would recommend this place it is really close to blarney castle and about 29 min drive to Cork city. Margaret and David are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. We will def return in the future
