In February my self and family gathered in Blarney Co. Cork for specail occasion
and had lovely time..Blarney is lovely place to visit with many things to do and see and some nice walking areas.hours can be sepent browsing the castle and gardens along with Blarney Wollen mills and all the beautiful products they produce and sell.
there is also traditional music in the local pubs and good pub food too.
Blarney Wollen Mill hotel is lovley place to stay, and rooms are clean and comfortable ( slight bit noisy if near front) they serve great food all day and the breakfast is great, staff helpful and friendly. we lookforward to returning later in the year.

Room was ok - clean, tidy and had all amenities you would need for 1 night stay. I had no sleep at all as the walls are so thin you can hear absolutely everything. Someone in room next to me was snoring all night and it was unbearable to listen to. You can see the hotel is old and it really needs a good revamp. Staff was very nice and breakfast was good. You have few healthy options to grab on your own and the rest can be ordered over the menu.

Very nice shops 3 levels of shopping that is well worth exploring and if you let her your wife will spend money in. The restaurant area is very clean and has a good selection. We enjoyed the turkey, dressing, potatoes and dressing sandwiches. Trust me when I say the sandwich was mouth watering delicious.

I bought a bottle of mead and some marmalade to send to my tutor on the US. I'm switching careers which is scary but I think I'm on the right path and my tutor has been great. I was disappointed to see the mead was just honey and white wine so it's not really mead. The marmalade only contains a small quantity of whiskey but it looked looks like the better option. Again disappointed with blarney woollen mills which is a pity as it's very near where I live

The Blarney Castle is a good venue and great opportunity for some wonderful photos--see my review of it. The Mills are located at the entrance to the castle. It is a bit of a walk to get to the castle and back, but the mills provide you with a diversion as you wait for the rest of the group to return to the busses.
The is shopping here, but the real service is the cafeteria to give you a warming lunch after touring the grounds! We had the beef stew and the quiche as well as side salads. More than enough to prepare for the ride back to the ship. The cafeteria is huge--as are the crowds. There is a bit of a wait in line, but it is not terrible.

Stopped here on a bus tour. I only wanted a water, so I stepped up to the counter, but had to wait for two people to order and pay for food. If this is a tourist stop, they either need to sell cold water downstairs, or have two lines upstairs. We have limited time on bus tours.

Stayed here for a week on business. It’s right next to the national park where you kiss the Blarney Stone. Building looks lovely and would appeal to tourists. Staff were lovely and breakfast was very good. Only thing lacking is no leisure facilities. Would stay here again if in the area.

Our coach tour of Ireland had a scheduled stop at Blarney Castle. My husband and I expected rank commercialism and a tourist trap, but wow! were we surprised. We loved it the whole experience, and it was one of the best stops on the tour. The castle itself is a romantic looking ruin. No, we didn’t stand in line for over an hour to kiss the Blarney Stone. Instead, we wandered through acres of beautiful gardens rich with diversity of colorful flowers, trees, and grasses—just gorgeous! Many Kodak photo opportunities. Then we walked back through the little picture-card village of Blarney, and arrived at the Blarney Woolen Mills. Oh my! World-class shopping with reasonable prices! In addition to sweaters and designer knits, the store carried jewelry, scarves, chocolates, children’s clothing, CDs, and household goods including Irish linens. I didn’t even make to the second floor. While I shopped, my husband relaxed over coffee and scones in the mill’s large café. The cafeteria-type café had lots of choices for various appetites and a huge amount of seating both inside and out. My fellow tourists and I returned to the bus full of good food and carrying bags of souvenirs.

The Woolen Mills will ship your purchases back to the USA provided you purchase at least 250Euro. You pay only for insurance which cost me 15Euro and was worth me not having to lug around my purchases on holiday. The parcel took about 10 days to arrive. There is a HUGE selection of fine quality woolen items and the bargain bins are located on the upper floors.

Very disappointed with our visit to this so called hotel. Blarney woollen mills is a very large retail outlet, which has a section of the building containing bedrooms on two floors. The hotel section trades under the name, The Mill Hotel, in my view, it is a bit of a con job, no dinning room, a tiny bar in the corner of a large public area, breakfast is served in a very large food hall which also caters for the large number of tourists who visit the retail units through out the day, they come by the bus loads. If you think you are going to get a standard hotel experience here the think again.
