Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was here today with the lovely Ursula and our son Leonard. Beautiful sunny day sitting outside. Excellent service, food was delicious. I had a vegetarian potato in skin stuffed with garlic mushrooms and topped with melted cheddar yum yum Very good value and happy with experience. Highly recommended

Our family agreed this was our favorite stay of our trip. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. You really feel like you're staying at a small family b and b. They assisted us with our baggage as well as parking (being American and pulling into the tiny lots can be intimidating) The breakfast was so delicious and the hotel is located directly across from the castle. The rooms are clean and sweetly decorated. We drove into Cork City twice while were there but you could easily take a car if you're not renting. Highly recommend!!

Never being to Ireland, I booked this hotel based on the location. It was a small, very cute hotel in the best location while visiting Blarney Castle. Friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. The double bedroom was very spacious. We were able to walk over to the castle when it opened and returned to check out. We would definitely recommend and stay here again!!

Stayed one night at this nice local hotel, very friendly people, big rooms and just across the road from Blarney Castle itself. Nice food good selection of different drinks. Only downside our car was hit in the car park, no cctv so no chance of catching the person who did it other than knowing it was a red car…

The service here is excellent. The beds are perfect. It was the best place we stayed on our trip to Ireland. The village is wonderful to visit. Every need or want was already met without asking. The staff are super personable and go out of the way to assist you. The breakfast is wonderful. Also, Paul is super helpful and kind.

We had a family event here and the hotel could not could have not been more welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff- simply amazing! The function we had was excellent and the service and food was amazing. It went on very late but the hotel permitted us to have a honesty bar. The breakfast was good, standard breakfast with different options and again, the staff were so helpful especially Holly but all the staff were exceptional. It is a testimony of the place that so many locals use it for lunch and dinner- it’s highly recommended.

We recently hosted a family event at the Castle Hotel and Ian, along with his team, were fantastic. Ian made organising the event so easy, he listened to our needs and went above and beyond our expectations. The room was beautifully decorated, with the loveliest personalised banner, each table had little flags representing the countries of the guest of honour, the food was fresh and delicious (as well as plentiful, I think everyone had seconds!!) John, the chef, introduced himself before service and pulled out all the stops. Ian’s team of servers were one better than the next, friendly, helpful and efficient. For a flawless event in a comfortable, traditional setting you cannot beat The Castle Hotel and the Forrest Family. We had a wonderful, memorable family gathering and cannot thank Ian enough.

Mixed feelings on our stay. Upon arrival it was unclear where to check in, there was no one at the reception desk and we had to walk through the bar and restaurant to try and get a staff member to help us - over 20 mins later we were finally assisted. On a positive note the room was very clean and comfortable. We went downstairs for dinner and again had to wait ages to be acknowledged and seated, we were met by the bar manager who was extremely unpleasant and seemed to have a bad attitude, I don’t think it is acceptable for him to roll his eyes at guests. The food arrived after a wait of one hour - there was a mix up and our had not been put through which given the busy period was understandable, our meal was lovely and all young staff in the hotel were very polite and welcoming. When we went to check out again there was no one at reception, we manage to grab a staff member’s attention to ask where could we leave our key and he barked ‘Reception’ apparently you have to walk behind the desk and leave the key back yourself! Unfortunately I would not feel comfortable returning to this hotel.
