What a wonderful stay. Our hosts were amazing. Lots of helpful info & a great personal touch’s, calling cabs, directions, etc. nice location. Lots of recommendations on places of interests & how to get there.
Me and my parents had a problem with our reservation in another place. The owner made the imposible to help us. She could finally give US a triple room. I would be gratefull for that for ever. The room was clean and big. Breakfast excelent
This was our first stop at a BnB in Ireland. We arrived early for the check-in, but the woman (Valerie) let us in anyway, which was very fortunate for us after spending a few hours on the road. The room was neat, clean and spacious with a modern bathroom. She introduced us to Andy, who took care of us and made us a great meal the following morning. We were very happy with our stay. Val gave us the pointers on what to do once we got up to Blarney Castle and what to expect at the village. *Check-out here was at 10 am. We didn't know. But the housekeeper was not angry at us. We were out of there by 10:20 am.
Room was clean but decor a little over the top glitzy. However we slept fine and had a nice breakfast in the morning. Good location. Not the typical Irish pot of tea greeting, but host was pleasant and helped us with our bags.
This establishment is very cute and fashionable. Beautiful lounge and breakfast area. Comfortable, clean and very nice smelling room. The bed, pillows and towels were high end. Overall a very nice facility in a convenient location to local attractions.
We stayed at the Beechwood house last evening in Blarney. The host was incredibly rude from the moment that we arrived. He asked who my fiance was with a nasty tone. We asked how his day was going and he said not good, I just finished cleaning. We had a full house yesterday. We arrived at 16:30 pm and check in was between 15:00 and 20:00. So we were not early. He did not even try to conversate with us. He also immediately informed us that he no longer offers breakfast at 8:00 because no one "bloody comes down." Then this morning, he was rude again. We came down for breakfast at 9:00, sat an an empty table and poured ourselves coffee from the coffee bar. We also grabbed a cup of fruit and were enjoying the start to the day. The host then walked in with a disgusted look on his face and sighed. He did not greet us with a good morning. Instead, he told us we had to move because we were sitting too close to another table. Mind you, there were four open tables and we picked a two seater in case a larger table came in the room. We were trying to be considerate. At that, I said to my fiance that I did not want to stay and he agreed. So, we went to gather our bags and were leaving. The host then just said did you leave the key? He completely ruined our day and night. We had such a lovely experience at the Abbeyville in and to then drive to stay at this place, it was a vacation ruiner. My fiance and I are an interracial couple. It was very evident that Norman, the host, is racist and made us feel incredibly unwelcome in his home. Considering this establishment is deemed to be four stars, I think you should know what kind of man is running this establishment. He ruined our Cork and Blarney experience. If he is unwilling to treat all guests equally (because he was treating the other guests very differently), then he should not be allowed to host guests.…
From the second we arrived to the moment we left we felt wholly unwelcome. Really never experienced a B&B like it. Didn’t even get the mans name as he didn’t introduce himself. Awkward check in and out times. Check in at 6-8pm check out by 10am. Just bizarre. We had only been at the property for an hour and a half and my sister had an episode as she has special needs and were asked to be quiet because their baby was trying to sleep at half 7 in the evening. The tv barely worked, just RTÉ one and two. Netflix was available but the WiFi connection was very weak so it buffered. The breakfast time is just 45 minutes from 7.45 to 8.30. There is limited selection we chose the full Irish for the first morning. It was poor, as if it had all been cooked and then reheated later. Very cold atmosphere in the breakfast room. We had Waffles, pancakes and scrambled eggs the second morning. The waffles and pancakes were just taken out of a packet and microwaved and the scrambled eggs were just ok. Just all round poor experience. I could go on more but I’ll leave it at that. …
We stayed with Adam at his B&B (son owns one house and his father another on the property). The house was beautiful and recently updated. Bedroom was clean and large. Beautiful large bathroom. Beautiful breakfast. Great Wifi and water pressure. Blarney castle was a 5 minute drive. Town was close by and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this B&B and stop to anyone coming through Ireland.
Welcome was a tad offhand initially, but soon warmed up and found us a sensible place outside to park our bikes. Room nicely decorated in a very modern style and comfortable, though a few missing hooks & door surrounds a bit odd. Good shower. At the back, so not really aware of the road (which isn't that busy) and had a good nights sleep. Really excellent breakfast, with delicious fresh fruit and a good choice of other options. Would've been lovely to've tried out all our hosts recommendations and suggestions, but sadly no time. Thank you.
Norman and Val are great hosts who really know how to make you feel welcome. The accommodation is first rate and the house is well kept. The room was well appointed and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and Norman definitely has the gift of the gab. I’m not going to state here how they went they went the extra mile for us (in case subsequent guests expect it) but I’d like to thank Val for going above and beyond what I would have expected to help us out. Her hilarious anecdote about Norman’s heroics in rescuing the guy will stay with me for a long time!
