We were unfortunately unable to stay in our house due the storm damage. With no electricity , water or means of heating we decided to relocate to a local b & b for the night of January 25th.It wasn't great and rather expensive for what it offered so on Sunday 26th we searched for a better option. We had seen Hotel Woodstock advertised regularly in the Sunday Independent and offering a very good deal for short breaks. We had intended to try it ourselves when the opportunity arose. We went online and discovered this was still available so we booked three nights from 26th to 29th of January as we had been told our electricity would be restored on the morning of the 29th.Are we glad we did? Emphatically yes! Our stay exceeded our expectations and helped alleviate the strain of the preceding days. For 129 euros per room per night we had a large bedroom with everything required for a comfortable stay, a delicious breakfast, with a choice of full irish or continental and a two course dinner. The beef choice was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would have trouble finding any fault with our stay at the Woodstock.

We went to hotel Woodstock in the New Year and had such a lovely time would definitely recommend. The rooms are so comfortable, spacious and we loved that you could adjust the heat to our preferences. Food was fabulous my partner had the slow cooked beer and he said it was the best ever, I had a burger which was also very tasty. The staff are so friendly including reception, bar, cleaners and pool staff it really adds to the whole experience. My 5 year old feel outside the pool and one of the the pool staff noticed and came through with some sweets to cheer him up. Loved the jacuzzi also! The open fire gives such a cosy welcoming vibe and was great live music in the bar one of the evenings, we can’t wait to go back!

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights last week. On arrival we got a warm welcome & were given a lovely room overlooking the golf course. We ate in the restaurant and the featherblade beef was so tender it really deserves a mention. We headed to Scattery Island for a lovely day trip before returning to the hotel to change for the Cold Play concert in Limerick. We were back to the hotel for a nightcap by 11.50 after the concert and would highly recommend The Woodstock as an ideal location for any events in Thomond Park. We enjoyed our stay and will be back .

Cathriona we would like to thank you for your 5 star review on your recent visit. Feedback from our guests is very important to us and your input helps with our continuing efforts to provide excellent service and a great stay. There isn't a town or city to rival Ennis in Ireland with the amount of world class tourist attractions on our doorstep the majority of which are within a 30 minute drive from the Hotel. Scattery island is one of our most popular attractions for our guests and yes we are a great base for the concerts in Thomond Park. Thank you so much for your business and we look forward to welcoming you in the future if you get a chance join up to our mailing list where you will get a 5% discount on our rates and we are always 20% cheaper to book direct as opposed to booking.com or expedia. Stayed here recently for one night on our way to Bunratty folk village for the Santa experience. We had asked for a room in a quieter part of the hotel due to us having a 1 year old with us which the hotel gave us. Unfortunately, this room was on the second floor and the reception had not told us the lift was out of order. As anyone travelling with kids will know this was far from ideal considering the stuff you need for a baby. So we had to do a couple of trips up and down (without any assistance). Not the best start.
Room: The room was comfortable and had everything you’d need. The hotel was busy with their own Santa experience and Christmas parties and yet we heard nothing which was great as the night got into later hours.
Food: We ate in the restaurant and the food was of good quality and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was decent and the staff were very friendly again.
Staff: All very friendly and it was clear they are all happy in their jobs.
Advise: Some tips for improvement, inform guests of breakfast and restaurant times at check in, and location of spa/pool facilities. We had to ask after we had checked in. Also when we got to the restaurant at 5:30 we were told it was not open until 6 even though reception and the hotel booklet said 5:30. Luckily other families came at the same time and we were all then taken into the restaurant as the bar was full with Christmas parties. Just some minor improvement in our view.
Overall, we would stay here again but minor improvements above would have given us a better experience.

We stayed at the Woodstock last weekend but were disappointed with the overall experience. It began with the receptionist offering us a pen to sign for our room that she had earlier held in her mouth. We were then given incorrect information about the leisure centre opening times for the following morning (finding out later that the receptionist had got her days mixed up). We then found the information in relation to breakfast opening times to be misleading. There was an information sheet at reception which stated 10am on Saturdays, the receptionist clarified that this was 10:30am on weekends (which I later thought might be something that also got confused with weekdays) before we discovered the information booklet stated 11am on weekends. Having no idea what time breakfast was served until, we arrived around 10:15am, just before the curtain got pulled (literally) on hot food at exactly 10:30am. This was before we were even ready for it. I think this is a little premature considering that breakfast remains open until 10:30 (if not 11am per the guidance offered in the room). However, the staff were very helpful throughout and had no issues re-opening hot food. The biggest disappointment though was the 7am fire alarm on Saturday morning. Having travelled a long distance on Friday with a small child, and getting to bed late, the last thing we needed was an unplanned awakening at such an early hour on the weekend. The weekend was planned as rest and relaxation which certainly was not the case on Saturday (tired child). We appreciate that these things can happen, but for the hotel to fail to neither acknowledge this nor apologise for it, is something that I consider to be surprising and discourteous. There were other minor issues such as a lack of fruit at breakfast and no soap in the leisure centre changing rooms which also contributed to our overall disappointment. Your prices are not cheap which would suggest a high quality service is offered. But our experience fell very short of high quality and we departed feeling disappointed. I notice from other reviews that there are a decent number of people that have also left disappointed and that there is a pattern where the hotel takes this feedback on board before committing to improving the service offered. However, given the number and frequency of disappointing reviews, I am not convinced that they really do take this on board because it doesn’t seem to be getting followed through on. Furthermore, the feedback form that I was asked to complete when I got home did not get a response. I have stayed in this hotel a number of times some years ago and had a pleasant experience on each occasion, so was surprised with how low the quality of service has dropped.
Any stay that we decided to take here in the future will depend on whether or not the reviews improve. That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our visit which I do need to acknowledge. I would also like to send kudos to the chef for the granola which was the best I've ever had.

Hello Kevin thank you for your review on your recent say with us at Hotel Woodstock last weekend. First and foremost I would like to apologise that everything was not up to the standard you would expect from Hotel Woodstock. I appreciate that things may go wrong every so often but would hope that when we make a mistake that we try and rectify it during the guests stay to ensure that you leave the Hotel feeling happy and relaxed. I am sorry to see that this did not happen on this occasion as our motto is “You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend” and obviously we did not deliver on this with your stay. I have spoken to the receptionist who checked you in with regards to the pen and the weekend leisure centre opening times and she sends on her apologies. There is no information sheet at reception with the breakfast opening times so not sure what you are referring to here you would however have got an e mail 5 minutes after you checked in with all the details of the hotel, the opening and closing times etc and facilities that were on offer during your stay and the receptionist did confirm to you that it was 10.30 at weekends for breakfast which was the correct time. The times in the bedroom folder were incorrect hands up this was our mistake we updated the information sheet with the new hours when we changed the breakfast times but for some reason we put the new sheet into your bedroom folder but also left the older incorrect sheet there as well and that was obviously the one you read and this has since been rectified. I looked back on our CCTV cameras over the weekend at breakfast on both mornings and it was 10.40am each morning before the curtains were pulled which is fair enough when you consider breakfast finishes at 10.30 am but I am glad to see that you were facilitated with your requests for hot food after this time. Thank you for acknowledging our friendly and reactive team at the Hotel which is very important to us and our chefs Granola which is homemade at the Hotel. From reading your review and from our follow up communication I see that your biggest issue was the fire alarm going off on the Saturday morning however I cannot make any apology for this as we take fire safety and the safety of our guests very seriously at the Hotel and do not take any chances in this area if this impacted on your stay then so be it but our first priority is the safety of our guests and your own safety. Thankfully, it was a false alarm in this case caused by an over sensitive smoke detector in one of our bedrooms which was changed out that day. You say we have big prices so this opinion is relative and for most nights over the Easter break we have bedrooms available at 109 room only and have these advertised nationally so I believe this is good value if however you book through a third party like booking.com or Expedia you can expect to pay 20% extra. You also state that in other reviews a decent number of people have left disappointed and that we don’t act on the feedback from our reviews or that we don’t respond to our customer surveys you are incorrect in all cases here and I have privately shared with you the action plan around your customer survey feedback and this plan was initiated and shared with my management team the day of your survey response and you got a response to your customer survey the following day so to say we don’t respond to our reviews is disingenuous. I personally respond to all our customer surveys and our customer reviews on every platform, and we analyse our feedback and put plans in place so that we can get more positive reviews and cut out or reduce the negative reviews and we discuss this feedback at our weekly management meetings and our daily morning prayers meetings. In our follow up communication, you refer to a review that happened back in 2019 that is 5 years ago I rest my case!!!!! We are a family run Hotel and are very serious about our business and constantly striving to improve our business and that is why it is very frustrating to get reviews like yours hands up we were wrong on a number of cases that you have rightly pointed out and I have apologised for this we are far from perfect we do make mistakes but we try and recover from them however I have a serious issue with your assumptions that we ignore customer feedback and reviews. I will let the customers make their own mind up on your review. Kind regards. Sean Lally Owner / Director Hotel Woodstock Ennis Co Clare 0035365 6899800

The front lobby has a lovely appeal, which is the only positive aspect we had. We rented two rooms. One was supposed to have a king, and the other was supposed to have two beds. Ours had a double, or a small queen, and our other booking had a double and a king. The restaurant menu listed allergies on the menu. We ordered the lamb because it was dairy-free, but we were told that a few items (the mash and the carrots) of the dish contained dairy despite not being listed on the menu. We were offered a few baby potatoes instead. Typically, when there are questions about allergies, Chefs come out to ensure the safety of the meal and not let young servers who are untrained guess what the dish contains. The servers also seemed uninterested and did not check on us or refill our drinks. Regarding the meal, it was unseasoned. Just because we need dairy-free for safety doesn't mean that nothing else could be used. Lastly, we arrived at the hotel after 12M on our second day after visiting Galway, and the lack of security was shocking. A key card was not required to enter the hotel, nor was there an attendant at the front desk when we arrived to ensure we were guests of the hotel. Coincidentally, our card did not work to enter our room; I went back down to the front desk and called out for assistance with no answer. Eventually, I had to ring a bell for assistance. He finally heard me as he appeared to be cleaning the bar area after it closed. He was very friendly but strange a key card is not required to enter after hours at such an establishment. Overall, I was disappointed in the entire stay.

Thank you Jason for your review on your recent say with us at Hotel Woodstock. First and foremost I would like to apologise that everything was not up to the standard you would expect from Hotel Woodstock. I do not have access to your booking and my apologies if it was incorrect to what you booked we lost the allergies on the menu which usually take care of most questions in this area and the front of house team are trained on them apologies as well if the front of house team seemed disinterested this is certainly not the normal standard at the Hotel. We always have a night porter on duty at night time and as you saw he was doing the front of house cleaning at the Hotel so there is always cover at the Hotel and if he is in the bar the phone is there with his number to call him or the bell is also there which I see you used. I appreciate that things may go wrong every so often but would hope that when we make a mistake that we try and rectify it during the guests stay to ensure that you leave the Hotel feeling happy and relaxed. This is a lovely family run hotel and we enjoyed it from beginning to end. We stayed in a deluxe king room as we wanted views of the golf course and interconnecting rooms were perfect so that I could pop in and check on my parents. We stayed for 4 nights and really felt rested at the end. Some reviews on here mention that some things such as furniture are old or worn. I found everything charming. The difference between this hotel and some others around the country is that has a cosy home from home feel (not that franchise feel where everything is the same in every hotel), and that "family run" feel really comes through with the owners coming up to you to have a proper conversation with you and not just saying "Welcome" and the usual blurb. The room was spacious and the bed very comfy. I loved the curtains in the room which were an elegant feature. People or " golf player" watching was very enjoyable. There isn't a fridge in the room but that actually didn't bother me and the coffee was instant but really tasty - I couldn't stop drinking it. We asked for ice buckets for the room which did the job we needed to cool drinks etc just fine. The Lally family have spent a lot on the restaurant which really was lovely and their son was telling us that other rooms of the hotel are also due for an update which is very exciting. The bar is cosy and comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed the gym which is in 2 rooms and small but perfectly sufficient. We also used the pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi wasn't working on the 2nd visit but when it was working OMG it was the best Jacuzzi I have ever been in and I have tried a lot. There is a courtyard/outside area too and lots of children enjoyed being out. There isn't much to it but my husband and I took a bat and ball and had fun out there with that so think outside the box with ideas for entertainment also. To finish off this review, I suppose the main question is, would I go again? Well we did book again before we left for this coming October and are really looking forward to it. Well done Hotel Woodstock and thank you!

This was the best place I have ever stayed in and ye were off to a great start when I saw the big red ribbons on the door and a beautiful decorated lobby. This is the place to be if you love Christmas all the staff in the Christmas spirit.
When I was checking in I was greeted by a lovely young girl in the reception. I think her name was camila I heard another member of tlstaff calling her that. Who gave us all the information I needed about the hotel and she even sorted us out with a taxi that evening when we wanted to go to Ennis Town for the evening to see the Christmas Market.
When we arrived back later that night we dediced to use the pool greeted by another lovley young staff member called Jack. Despite it closing in 20 mins he let us use the sauna and jacuzzi. Which was lovely. The following morning we came down again. Which we got to experience the gym and the the pool as well. Afterwards we were talking to Jack who was very knowledge able on the things to do around clare. From his knowledge I believe he is a local in West Clare.
The food in this place is to die for hats off to the chef and his team. The only downfall I had was the service was a bit slow but I put this down to it being prepared to perfection. David our waiter he was very helpful even recommend we try the beef which was to die for especially the mash and gravy there was no need to clean the plates after us as there was not a drop of gravy left.
Also hats of to the house keeping staff as they had the room in immaculate condition when we arrived and there was one woman in particular going around polishing everything in the lobby. At one stage I even saw her polishing a santa. Which she did with great care. The rooms were lovely and spacious with great view of the golf course.
As I said at the start this was the best place I ever stayed in. I believe all the staff are a credit but the 4 that stood out to me were the lovley receptionist Camila (I think) Jack in the leisure center, David in the bar, and the lady polishing everything with great care.
I also had the pleasure of meeting not one but the 2 owners of the hotel. It was your videos that attracted me keep them coming I love them.
I will definitely be back.

I arrived to this hotel stressed to the hilt and left floating on a cloud. The hotel is pristine, cosy and nestled in luscious greenery. We felt welcome by every staff member we came in contact with. On the night we stayed, there was a big event on in the hotel. The bar staff were able to keep both the event and the bar running seamlessly. The room was perfectly quiet with no music audible from the bedroom. The tortellini was recommended and did not disappoint. I can't wait to be back even just for lunch. Looking out at the treetops while relaxing in the jacuzzi is shear luxury and a definite hidden jem. Overall, I was delighted with our relaxing stay and I can't wait to return. 10/10

Check- in was delightful with an excellent service with a smile. Rooms are clean & tidy with good facilities ( the odd lick of paint :) ). The dining room was exceptionally run with a lovely menu and staff that engage and provide good insight to the menu and offers of accompanying drinks to match the plate. Food was tasty and well presented. The bar had a lovely trad session in full swing which was great to listen to. The famed Sean was serving in the restaurant too but understandably not got the opportunity to chat. The Woodstock is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Ennis with lovely food and staff. Well recommend a visit

Hello Quest thank you for your booking and looking forward to welcoming you to Hotel Woodstock we do not have a shuttle bus but you could get a bus to Ennis and a taxi from Ennis to Hotel Woodstock which is 4km away from the town centre.
The other option is to get a taxi directly from the Airport to the Hotel.
There are more places to choose from in the Ennis area.
