From the minute I rang to enquire about the hotel, the staff, managers and the fabulous owners have been genuinely nothing but kind, accommodating and extremely helpful. I stayed in the most beautiful, comfortable room, with a stunning gold canopy over the bed and gold curtains I wasnt able to fit in my suitcase unfortunately. Food, service and covid compliance was top quality. A place you really must visit and enjoy. Elaine and staff, thank you so much for being so hospitable. Cant wait to come back.

We as a family had a very pleasant experience here, We stayed 2 nights just after the reopening and all the staff were great considering the hotel went to full capacity almost straight away. Can't have been easy, but they made it look easy. The food was top class, ye have a great chef. We were made feel very relaxed, and welcome. Sean and Co always made time for the chat which made the stay much more personal. Thanks to all, We'll definitely be back

We had booked this hotel so many times just before , durning and after Covid broke.I am glad to say that we finally got to have our first break away in over 18 months and it did not disappoint. A family run hotel with great food and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. The leisure centre was very well run, clean and organised. The time slots were very well managed. Our rooms were spacious , clean, comfortable and had great views overlooking the adjoining golf course. The food menu was varied with a good selection to cater for everyone tastes. The food served was of first class quality with clean plates left after ever meal. Overall a wonderful stay and considering that the staff are only just back into full swing, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. Looking forward to our next stay which hopefully will not be to far away. Well done to all there, Sean and Elaine keep up the good work.

Stayed here last Sunday night. I was absolutely horrified with the volume of people not wearing masks and no enforcing of same from any staff including management. While waiting in line at breakfast buffet another resident who was not wearing a mask and coughing while looking in over the buffet proceeded to pour the juice off his plate back into a Bamberee in front of the serving staff who continued to serve from this. I cannot explain how horrified I was at this. Bar is an absolute disgrace, absolutely filthy!! Shower curtain filthy and disgusting to have to shower beside. Staff were friendly but not experienced and unable to improvise given current circumstances. Asked 3 times for a wine list and I'm still waiting! Also way over priced given the quality and standard, would expect a lot more from a 4 star hotel. Will definitely not be returning.

Hello Mariad thank you for your review on your recent stay with us last Sunday night and first of all I would like to apologise on behalf of the Hotel for the poor standard you experienced during your stay. Both Elaine and I were on the floor working all of last weekend including Sunday night and we both would have interacted with every guest who used our food and beverage facilities so I am sure both of us would have interacted with you on Sunday night and Monday morning and we did not get any negative reaction like this which is unfortunate to hear it afterwards. At the end of the night I was mingling around the bar and the Hotel reception and I corrected a number of guests who walked around the Hotel without masks and they apologised and immediately rectified the situation and I saw my team doing the same throughout the night so to say there was no enforcing of this situation is incorrect however I do accept that you may have been your opinion. We do have a wine list and the breakfast situation is most unfortunate and I apologise for this again I have used your feedback for retraining our team in the Hotel. I do not agree with you that we are overpriced as we have a large selection of dishes on our menus at different prices and you can have main courses for dinner from €12.95 which in my mind is good value. I am glad to see that you felt our team were friendly and your overall review as you can see on our tripadvisor listing is not reflective of the normal level of service at the Hotel. We take our covid responsibilities very seriously and have numerous sanitising stations around the Hotel as well as branded signage reminding guests of the procedures we have also received the Covid Failte Ireland Safety Charter From our perspective I would much preferred that you would have given us the feedback during your stay as we are a family run Hotel and take our guest feedback very seriously and the majority of our business is repeat business built up over the last numbers of years and based on positive experiences. I do hope at some stage in the future you might give us another try for a future stay. Sean and Elaine Lally Owner / Directors Hotel Woodstock Ennis Co Clare 0035365 6899800

Stayed with my children for 2 nights b&b over the June Bank holiday weekend. It was the first weekend open after the lockdown so I thought there might be some issues with queues, bookings etc. I had booked my breakfast sittings, dinner and pool time in advance and this process was easy to navigate. Check in process was very efficient and trouble free. While I was driving down I got a call from the hotel to ask if I would change my dinner booking from 7.30 to 9pm. As I was travelling with children this time was not ideal but I agreed as I could see they were under pressure. The person who called assured me that we could come down early and have a drink at the bar. When I arrived down at 8.40 the man at the desk seemed surprised I was told this but eventually found me a table outside of the main bar area (in front of an open door) and said someone would take an order. No order was taken and we waited there freezing until just after 9. In the restaurant no one came near us to take even a drinks order for 20 minutes. My kids were getting restless and very hungry at this stage. One of my children is coeliac and there was a very poor choice for him but the chef did agree to do some gluten free fries and a piece of grilled salmon. We eventually got our meals at 9.45pm. While waiting I could see other diners getting frustrated with service issues and delays - meals for groups being brought out one at a time with delays between being one such issue. All in all not a great experience service wise but the food was good. The cost on the bill for my sons salmon was €17.95 but I pointed out that it was a child’s portion with literally a piece of salmon and fries on the plate and they reduced the cost to €10.95. Breakfast was also problematic with the staffing levels too low for the numbers present. The buffet was running very low when we arrived but I was advised it would be replenished. It wasn’t so there was very little choice for breakfast- no fruit, pastries, breads, bacon, pudding. The gluten free options were also poor. They made some toast for my son and found some cereal he could have. I would suggest that the hotel makes a gluten free station as seen in many other hotels to make it easier and no waiting required. Service of tea/toast etc very slow - Our experience on Monday was much better with much better choice, better service as I think it was not as busy. Again the food that we did have both days was good. Positives:The room was very nice, pool was great, and all staff were lovely and friendly, the owner was circulating too both mornings which was a nice touch. Overall loads to improve with some positives meaning I would go back and give the hotel another chance.

Thank you Zenagold for taking the time to complete your review on your stay at Hotel Woodstock on the June bank holiday weekend. Clearly there are some quality control issues that were not to the usual standard during your stay with us it was a very challenging opening weekend just gone adhering to all of the covid procedures but thankfully as the weekend went on we got better from our side for the service and ironed out any issues we experienced over the first few days. I am glad to see that you experience this improved service yourself on Monday mornings breakfast service. I have discussed these issues with my team and we have addressed them as a matter of urgency. Consistency is vital if we wish to be considered at the highest level and I am disappointed that we have fallen down on some basics and I am very much aware that we are only as good as our last cup of coffee or our last lunch or dinner that we serve. We are a family run Hotel and connecting with our guest is at the core of everything we do and clearly this did not happen on this occasion I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. Kind Regards, Sean and Elaine Lally Owner / Director Hotel Woodstock Ennis Co Clare
