Had breakfast all items from buffet breakfast cold and coffee very bad taste We went down for breakfast about 9am on the Sunday morning . I heard other people also complaining For the price paid not good enough
Enjoyable stay, very good facilities. Having the pool and spa was a very welcome bonus. Live entertainment each evening was very good. The breakfast was plentiful and the staff really did do all they could to make the stay as pleasant as possible. All I would say is the place needs a bit of a refurbishment as the bathrooms and the carpets do let it down a little. Nothing to ruin out stay but would make it even better
Great stay, but my wife was in wheelchair and found toilets akward , I had to wheel her into ladies toilets to get to disabled toilet. If theiŕcould be a seperate disabled toilet that would be easier in future
We enjoyed our stay at Treacy’s. Food in the bar was good and breakfast was plentiful and satisfying! We all Loved the pool however the lack of locks on the lockers In the changing rooms is unnerving! Bedroom was great - we had bunk beds which the kids adored however the bathroom does need modernisation! Lovely stay overall
The Good: -Buffet breakfast works well and staff work hard to ensure everything is kept topped up. -Reception, housekeeping and leisure centre staff are very friendly and helpful. -The pool is nice and there is always a lifeguard on duty which is reassuring. -Good selection of tv channels in the rooms and the cooling tower was very welcome during the warm weather. -Nice to have entertainment in the bar at night. -The kids area is a nice touch especially for those with small children. -Plenty of car parking spaces. The Bad: -Family Rooms are tight and the double bed is very small for two adults. -Our room keys had to be reprogrammed every evening as they just stopped working. -Bar food wasn’t great and lukewarm at best. -Service at the bar is very slow and wasn’t particularly busy. One barman in particular was like a magician who kept disappearing out the back when he’d see you approach the bar. Another staff member was more interested in cleaning up an hour before closing instead of serving the customers waiting at the bar -Tables in the bar were sticky so not properly cleaned. The hotel is very dated, however, to be fair the price we paid is probably reflective of that. Overall I would say it’s a hotel just to be used as a base for exploring the beautiful county of Clare.…
Grubby and run down, and a bit of a Basil Fawlty experience at reception. I emailed about booking an early morning taxi to the airport days before we arrived and was told by email 'We can book a taxi for you upon arrival". I was instead directed to the AAA Taxis direct line. We also had difficulty with the reception staff on arrival refusing to book our prepaid restaurant meal . We were told that the restaurant was fully booked by a rather curt young female receptionist with dark hair, while in fact we ended up being one of only two tables (truth was that wanted to shut the restaurant and focus staff of a coach group and wedding party) and I had to ask for the manager a few hours after we'd checked-in to force the issue about the restaurant meals already paid for. I had been frantically search for alternative hotels in the town (it was just run down) but there were none. I suggest reviewing the relationship with AAA Taxis and the day reception teams disinclination to be helpful and friendly of arrival. Perhaps, if you're going to continue having the direct dial to AAA Taxis you can insist that they book, and honour, rides for your guests (especially drop off to catch flights, or for important occasions). I needed to book a taxi in advance, since we were relying on it to catch our flight, as your team originally suggested we could. The night security guard saved the day are drove up to the airport! I emailed three times about the experience and questioning the set up with AAA taxis - no reply. I can only imagine there's a kick-back or it's family.…
When we arrived at this hotel , the receptionist very friendly and helpful. However I must say disappointed with the decor . It was very dated and in need of a lot of tlc. Tge photos on the website were taken along time ago. The double bed was one of the smallest I have slept in. The breakfast was lovely, the dinner was adequate. The leisure centre is the crowning glory of this hotel along with the friendly helpful staff. There is a play area near reception. This is lovely for small children.
I have stayed in 60+ hotels across Ireland and this is without a doubt the worst experience. The hotel needs modernized but you can get over that. It’s unclean, I mean on 2 separate days I had a hair left in my coffee cup in the room. And the cups always came with tea/ coffee stains. I got to take a break from the kids one night and thought I would go for a pint of Guinness. My first sip and I got a piece of paper in my mouth. Second time round there was a hair floating on top. The barmen thought it was hilarious. As for the kids club, it’s just a room to dumb your kids in. Ours hated it meaning they missed out on that entertainment it should provide and we missed out on getting a break. Very little interaction with the kids and not much toys etc to play with. The lady at reception asked us on second night why we were not putting the kids into the kids club. We told her we tried and they hated it and won’t go back. Judging by her reaction I don’t think it was the first time she had heard this feedback. The worst experience of the stay was the food. I think it’s hard to get breakfast wrong but they manage to do so in a spectacular way. I stuck to cereal and toast as the hot food was awful. On the first night we arrived we opted for pizza in the hotel and could only taste 1 ingredient- cheese. Apart from that we went to other hotels and restaurants. The leisure centre I would describe as ok. I mean the pool is decent but the changing room floors and lockers are filthy. Jacuzzi doesn’t work and I believe it’s been like That for months. I just don’t have any positives…
We stayed at Treacys due to an unexpected overnight layover @ Shannon airport! Mary & her team were super organized at providing rooms to a bus load of very tired travelers that had to stay overnight. The staff welcomed us with open arms. Ennis is a very pretty town with great shops and lots of history. After settling into our cozy room we walked into town and everyone we met in the shops was very friendly. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the bar. Sadly we could not stay awake to enjoy the live music! Breakfast in the morning was top notch!
Had a great time staying at Treacys during the recent Junior Tour of Ireland cycle race. The welcome was fantastic, the staff were really helpful and looked after us brilliantly, and the food in the bar was fab.
