We wanted to see a lot of Ireland's west and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The family was charming, the home was quaint, the beds comfortable and breakfast was custom tailored to our wants. Advise was freely given and always worth checking out.
A truly wonderful experience and Matilda and Ann made us feel at home. Rooms are well kept and spacious. Beds were SO comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Try Matilda's homemade scones and brown bread. I would absolutely stay here again!
Stayed here with Matilda and Anne for 5 nights. They are full of knowledge and genuinely interested in making sure you have the best visit to Ireland you can. Breakfasts are delicious and tailored to you. Will miss them but look forward to coming back in the future.
We have enjoyed two nights with Ann and Matilda. The farm is close enough to Ennis to slip in for a meal but far enough away to enjoy the peace of the farm. The rooms are well appointed and the en-suite bathrooms lovely. There is a major road behind the property at a distance, but you hear nothing and I personally enjoyed watching the traffic at times. What made our stay was being looked after by Ann and Matilda. Breakfast was delicious and tasty, kept us going all day. Nothing was too much trouble, information about places to see, our hot water thermos prepared for a coffee on the road and inquiring about a day, their interest and care was great. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed our stay here while tracing family origins nearby, O'Hallorans as it happens. Easy to find. Sparkling clean accommodation and very welcoming hosts, especially Matilda. One of the tidiest farms we saw in our travels and we said so. So very very pleased we bumped into Matilda's father as we were leaving. Once we explained the purpose of our visit he directed us to a graveyard not far from the intersection where Norrie Henchys bar is and as promised it had plenty of O'Hallorans in it. I'm still working on the connections, if any, to our family tree but after meeting a representative from the Ireland Reaching Out website later that day who introduced us to a woman who is my husbands 3rd cousin I wouldn't be at all surprised if there is a connection to the Elmdale O'Hallorans. Thanks for making our trip even more special Matilda. Carol…
Perfect place to stay to take in the Cliffs of Moher, Ennis, Bunratty Castle & Adare. My husband and I popped in for a quick one night stay and were greeted by Ann, Matilda’s mother and were shown our room. Everything was clean and neat, and a full Irish breakfast. Beautiful view from our room and the breakfast table. Very fun to be in the country, could even hear some cows in the distance.
We recently took a six day road trip through Southern Ireland. This was our first and second night accommodations. We really liked it. Our hostess- Matilda - I believe was friendly and helpful. She even made me some homemade bread suited to my diet. The room was clean and comfortable. Small- as all B&Bs are- but big enough to set up our suitcases
We stayed two night during our vacation in June 2018. The B & B is very modern and clean. Breakfast was very good and my family enjoyed our stay. Very convenient to the Cliffs of Moher and the Cities of Ennis and Galway. We were very pleased with the B & B.
Matilda welcomed us warmly and gave us the key and showed us to our room. She made the stay very comfortable. The room was neat, clean and very comfortable. The full Irish Breakfast was very good and she was attentive and made sure we enjoyed our stay and the food. She gave us some great suggestions for dinner and places to see.I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting this area.
My husband and I stayed at Elmdale for 4 nights in March 2018. We booked it because of the good reviews, location, (county Clare, the best) and beautiful photos. We were in Ireland for 6 nights total and what I miss most about Ireland, is Matilda, our warm and gracious host. She and her mother treated us like family and we feel they are now our friends. Matilda steered us all the rights ways with restaurant suggestions, directions and day trips. She helped me make an appointment for a massage and assisted me when I felt unwell on our last morning. Matilda and Ann love their wayward travelers and provide a lovely, comfortable room and home. The brown bread with breakfast is made from scratch. We felt cared about during our stay in their home. It's no wonder that Matilda keeps receiving awards.…
