We stayed here for 3 nights as a family of 5 in July.
We were accomadated perfectly in 2 rooms and kept private from other guests meaning our kids could come in and out of our room when needed.
The breakfast was excellent with a great choice to set us up well for the day.
Brilliant location for exploring Clare, with all the attractions little more than 30 minutes away.
Staff very helpful.
Loved Co Clare and loved staying here and using it for our base.

I came here with my husband for one night. On arrival we found the car park to be tiny but the young man at reception was so helpful and friendly in helping us get a spot. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and you could eat as much as you wanted. The room itself was dated and very small but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was so easy to get to town walking. I look forward to going back.

I would never consider booking this hotel. My husband had booked it almost a year ago for a competition he had in Ennis. It was confirmed and on Tuesday he set off on the 5 hour trip to stay in the hotel. When he got there he was advised there was no rooms for him as the hotel was full ofUkraine people. When he asked to see a manager they advised him that an email had been sent to him 4 days before the stay was planned and it had been in the the spam email box. Because of this International competition there was absolutely nowhere nearby for him to stay with the result in having to go to Shannon and pay for a hotel at a very high price. This hotel had absolutely no loyalty to customers who had booked with them and they should have notified customers months ago that they could not honour the booking so that alternative accommodation could have been booked. An absolute sham!!!

A complaint was made about us phoning him 🤣 because of that complaint he asked us to leave i told him what they where hearing was me ringing him because of the paper thin walls , this hotel is used for social housing the family next door where rough loud and you cold hear him and her fighting. Other people where outside arguing under our window all night but the night porter had nothing to say to them the coward . Falty towers eat your heart you . If you like rough places where you could easily get killed on top of everything else work away s☆☆t hole

Absolutely filthy, rooms dirty. Located in a housing estate and back of a mechanics. Realised within minutes we were sharing a hotel with people who were made permanent residents as they were drug users and homeless. Left early. Staff were as friendly as they could be and understood our frustrations

Booked last minute, overpriced for what you get, clean sheets and bathroom but dirty carpets, curtains, lampshade. Lumpy uncomfortable bed, smelly halls, rickety lift. Breakfast was OK but seating held old lumps of food. Not good.

this hotel was closed for a while for refurbishment but i think it opened that bit too early cos it wasnt near finished, so many little things went wrong, when i got to my room we were advised to let the taps run cos the water was brown, when i did that i couldnt get the plug up to empty it had to go down to reception to get it fixed, the other girls had little things wrong in their rooms too, then we went to dinner and when we got back we got the key cards, we were getting ready to go out i was using the iron and board which wasnt very secure and the iron had bits broken off it, my friend went to plug in her straightner and the plug socket was loose and nearly got electrocuted, we left to go out and after a long night we got back to the hotel and when we went to get into our room the key card wouldnt work there was no night portor we had to ring a number and he was 5 mins before he got too us, he tried two different cards both didnt work, then he went to get emergency key card which didnt work either he then fobbed us off by letting us stay in a diff room we had no clothes to change into as all our belongings were in the other room, there was no irish breakfast only continental and no residents bar either.. he didnt even offer us a discount. was very dissapointed and would not reccomend this hotel to anyone..

Avoid like the plague! Greeted by an awful smell in reception and throughout hotel. Given no information on arrival about early closures. Parts of our group sent to bed at 10pm cause barman had to go to bed!
All we wanted was a communal area to all sit together and chat.
Place locked up when we returned from our dinner the following night at about 10pm. No night porter or any information on how to contact staff incase of emergency during night.
Damp stains on my ceiling. Extremely uncomfortable bed.
When asked how our stay was going we tried to express our dissatisfaction- owner went straight on the defensive. He was rude, unprofessional and completely out of order. Cut my stay short by a night.
Would never stay here again.

We were looking for a nice Hotel to stay in Ennis for a weekend and judging by the photo's on booking.com.... thought we were staying in a lovely modern hotel, unfortunately what we found was nothing short of shocking. On arrival we were greeted by wonderful staff at reception and shown to our room and that's when the shock factor kicked in. Firstly the room was freezing cold and smelt damp my husband turned on the heating which sent out an awful strong musty smell all over the room much to the point that we had to have the door open. The mat for the shower was all mouldy there was no way we would use it. There was nail varnish stains all over the walls, the table was full of burnt marks, the bedside lamps them self's were broken. When we went to bed the bed smelt of mould as well. The following day we went to Doolin Caves which our car was broken into with the window smashed and my handbag stolen and we had to wait for the police. After all this we decided we just wanted to go home and made our way back to the hotel, we told the girl at reception what happened and that we wanted to check out a day early. The owner then came down and said he'd not charge us for the 2nd night but asked us we could hurry up and be out by 6pm (it was now 5.40pm) which we thought was a bit unsensitive after what just happened... The only good thing about this hotel was 4/5 staff members but not the owner and I'd never recommend this hotel even to a dog, it is rundown and filthy and in my opinion i don't think it should be open unless major must needed work is done.. Also the safe didn't work and the parking is minimal and the door took its time to lock.

Response from SeanM1956, Guest Relations Manager at Ashford Court Boutique Hotel
Responded 22 Apr 2017
Dear Tracey G, I am very sorry some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations your feedback is very important to us. It is unfortunate that you did not voice any of these issues during your first nights stay with us and we would have tried to resolve these for you. Again, we are extremely apologetic for the unfortunate events that took place in Doolin and shocked as this would be exteremly rare in this area and completely understand why at this point you wanted to cut your trip short and go home. We are sorry you felt pressured to leave as this was not our intention. We did not charge you for your second nights stay as this was an extremely unfortunate event. I will share your comments with the team who will take all of your comments on board. Kind regards, Sean
