Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This lovely guesthouse was ideal for our family break for the week we stayed their we were made to feel at home by the delightful Lady of the house shiela. She was ever so kind pleasent and helpfyl. The staff were absolutely fantastic with our two children aged 4+5. The rooms were so airy clean and comfortable it was a home from home. A great breakfast menu with plenty of choice to set us up for each day we were there. We will definitely be recommending Westbrook House to our family and friends and we will be sure to return during our future trips to Ennis.

We had a wonderful stay at the Westbook House, and really appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. The breakfast was awesome (try the crepes with mushrooms and cheese). The house is about a 20-minute walk to town center, but it's an easy walk. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity to return to Ennis.

This accommodation was one of my favourite places to stay. The rooms are clean and tidy with no frills simplicity, just the way it should be in West Ireland. It has all the amenities necessary to have a perfect stay. The breakfast was freshly cooked in the morning and was of a high standard. I would definitely stay here again. It is in a perfect location for a short walk into town to sample the local night life, with enough distance to clear away the nights festivities. The grey bearded man at reception was a fascinating character, I wish to see him again in the future.

We stayed here at the weekend for a stag. The woman running it was lovely but was away for the weekend at a wedding. She said there would be someone around in her place. There was'nt. I was locked out of my room hanging around for an hour and a half because there was no one there. When I did get in, there was no hot water and no one to contact, so none of us could have a shower. The breakfast was good. Not great overall.

My husband and I and sister and her husband stayed at Westbrook House on our last night in Ireland. Shelagh and Donal were wonderful hosts helping us settle in. Our rooms were lovely and everything was clean and comfortable. In the morning Shelagh and Donal got us going to the airport with an early breakfast and accurate guidance regarding timing and customs. Highly recommend. If I should be so lucky to return to Ireland and Ennis, I will certainly return.

We enjoyed our stay as always, The room was nice and spacious and warm, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was better than any hotel with great choice on the menu. The B&B is suituated within walking distance of Ennis town which makes it so convenient and it has good parking facillities.

Came as a recommended stay by Exploring Vacations and they missed with this one. While Sheilaugh was pleasant and the breakfast adequate, the rooms were spartan, the beds substandard and the bathroom was rather dirty (hair on the shower walls). Yours can probably do better in the Ennius area.

I picked the Westbrook House for our overnight in Ennis based on previous very good reviews. I was very disappointed. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable with a big dip in the middle. My husband and I spent all night half awake trying to stay on the edges and out of the dip. Not an easy job in a small double. The room was clean but very basic. Loose teabags stirring in a basket exposed to dust and hands of previous occupants were not tempting at all. The lock to the door was very tricky to operate. There was mould in the bathroom and the towels were rough and quite small. My husband said that the full Irish breakfast was ok but not the best by a long shot. Outside of cooked breakfast the options were slim: Lidl yogurt and cereal and toast with butter but no jam. I have to go back to ennis in a few months and will be taking my chances with a different b&b or hotel option.

Westbrook house is about a 30-minute walk from the center of town. I would have preferred something closer, but it worked out very well. The owners gave me a ride into town to hear some live music, which I really appreciated. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. The wifi wasn't working in my room for most of my stay, but did work in the lobby.
