This hotel DOES NOT have air con as stated on some booking sites. We did get a fan after asking. No apology given. We only booked this hotel for air con. For money we paid we wouldve booked another that was in a better state of repair. Very very very tired worn out hotel. 1980s decor everywhere and rooms in dire need of upgrading. Sanitary wear in very bad state. We had 2 rooms and both same poor state of repair. Electrical equipment (heated towel rail) had PAT certified 2009 !!! Plus exposed wires. Chipped and mould around bath. Shower curtain rail had almost no chrome left. Shower head had mould all around. Unacceptable. Only worth £59/night. We paid over £550x2nightsfor 2rms bfast inc. (bfast was good) two very small rooms

The room was really dirty, the carpet was covered in hairballs and dust. The inner corners of the chairs and sofas had handfuls of dust. There were splashes and spots on the walls, radiators, skirt boards and the bed's headboards. The tap in the bathroom was broken and it was very difficult to turn on and off. I asked for the room to be cleaned and hoover, but after room service, the room was as dirty as before, so I had to ask again for extra hoovering. I gave up after that and I bought cleaning wipes and cleaned the main surfaces myself to keep my children safe. There were dents and holes in the walls of the bedroom and bathroom. I asked for another room but they refused as they told me that they were fully booked. The Reception noted the broken tap but they never sent anyone to repair it. I can't believe that during this Covid times the hotel has such poor cleaning standards. It's a pity because staff at breakfast was really friendly but that's about it.

My mum and I enjoyed a break away for 2 nights and booked the package deal (dram on arrival, 3 course dinner, afternoon tea, breakfast and bed x 2 nights, Prosecco in bedroom). This package deal did not disappoint. Food really was lovely and we enjoyed every meal. Staff were friendly and helpful and professional. They work hard. My only grumble would be that room was small and decor dated. Bathroom a bit run down with damage to the door and grout around bath a bit grubby. No air condition but we requested a fan due to being a heat wave and this was not a problem and really helped. Hotel is in a brilliant location and we would def stay here again. Hopefully next time in one of the newly renovated rooms. Last thing was we couldn’t get parked in the hotel parking as it was too busy. However, we found on street parking and therefore saved ourselves £15, which made the short walk to the hotel def worth it! See you again 😄

This hotel screams that it was once grand and the owner has fallen out of love with their job. Everything was a bit sad and very dated. Parking in the hotel carpark costs an extra 5 quid on top of the over priced stay. The rooms are very old and I think some of the fabrics in the room were older than me. The bathroom wasn't very clean and water pressure was nonexistent. Breakfast was good but didn't make up for the drab and depressing décor of the hotel. Location is spot on but the main benefit us that you can go to better bars and restaurants as soon as possible.

Expected more in terms of the room quality based on the price we paid, but I suppose that's what you pay when moving through Scotland in tourist season. The room was a bit antiquated and could do with a good freshen up. Shower in the en suite took a bit of working out before we got our hair wet. There was a big stain on the room carpet which was a bit off putting and should have been attended to prior to our occupancy. Breakfast was included in the booking fee and to be honest this was very poor quality in comparison to the breakfasts we had in all the other hotels we stayed in that week. I was taken by surprise, that when checking in, we were informed we had to pay another £5 for the car park at the hotel as the parking supposedly was not part of the booking fee ????? Never before has this happened when booking a hotel stay. Dont think I would rush back to this place. Very average.
