From the moment we arrived we were totally impressed by this hotel. All the staff are so pleasant and the meals exceptional. The reception staff had ensured that the room suited all our requirements and was spacious with luxurious en suite facilities. The grounds are beautifully kept and provide an excellent backdrop to this beautiful hotel.
This time we were in room 237 which is a double aspect room which afforded views to the north and to the east. The building was built in the 1870s so the interior is light and airy. Because of Covid there are only two sittings for dinner - 6 p.m. or 8 p.m. This is to allow the staff to wipe down between service times. At dinner and breakfast service was prompt and courteous. There are beautiful relaxing woodland walks in the grounds.
Two nights at the Atholl Palace has been the perfect way to move towards normality. Their excellent organisation of COVID requirements enabled us to feel very secure and safe. Staff were amazing, very helpful and courteous. Food was outstanding and our room comfortable and well appointed. However the star of the show has to be the magnificent grounds. Spectacular. A bit staid but suits the clientele. Most certainly will return.
I was gifted an overnight dbb here. The cost was £229. It's a lovely hotel with stunning views but that's all i can say about it. The dinner was mediocre. Too many plus supplements on the set menu. The beef was fatty and tasteless. The fresh fruit salad came in a glass full of pineapple juice so was i supposed to pour my cream into that?? And the pool and spa were still closed even though legally they could open the hotel just chose not to open it. So my advice is spend your money elsewhere. Pitlochry is beautiful and there's lots of nice places to eat and stay
My wife and I recently stayed at the Atholl Palace Hotel for the first time , on a two night Dinner Bed and Breakfast booking. We have relations who had previously stayed there and were very impressed. We had seen the television adverts about the hotel recently and fancied booking a short stay for ourselves. This is a beautiful Country Mansion House in an equally beautiful setting. The grounds are very extensive and well Hotel itself has magnificent architecture, dating from the 19th Century. The interior is in keeping with that time, with the furniture and decor blending in perfectly. Our room was lovely and comfortable with a lovely view and ample facilities. The Staff were both friendly and helpful. On the day of our arrival there was a problem with the lock on our room door. Kirsty at Reception dealt with this very quickly and professionally and we were given a replacement room quickly. The Staff were both friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The Verandah Restaurant served up a lovely menu, again all the Staff were very friendly. Thomas the manager was a lovely man, chatting to all of us at our tables. Anna, one of our Waitresses was a sweet and lovely lady who gave us great service with a smile. Another young lady, a supervisor I think, Ms Galenko, I didn’t get her first name, was also lovely, helpful and friendly. Our stay was great and we wish it could have been longer. We would love to return some day and will recommend to others without a doubt. Thanks to all at the Atholl Palace Hotel, who made us feel special while we were there.…
