The hotel was perfectly situated for us visiting family in the area and the customer service from the desk was great. However, as non-smokers there was a smell of smoke consistently throughout the building. This is not helped by the smoking at the front door which constantly has a stream of guests. Non smoking hotel but somebody in the room next door was definitely smoking - once reported it stopped to be fair - well done to the staff for sorting it out. Breakfast was including and great for adults. However, an option of cereal for children and/or adults would have been nice.
Stayed at Holiday Inn for 1 night. Really pleasant stay at spotlessly clean hotel. Met George at reception and he is such a welcoming and helpful member of staff; as well as extremely hard working!!! Felt safe throughout hotel where Covid protocols in place and adhered to. Pleasant bar area with large tv in lounge area. Public toilets spotless. Room was good size, decent sized tv, room pleasant enough and spotlessly clean. Had great nights sleep. Breakfast included which was nice. Would recommend. Close to town centre and waterfront. Hotel provides meals but visited nearby Indian for something different; Delhi Deluxe where food was outstanding and best Indian food I’ve ever had!! Thank you for pleasant stay.
The room key mechanism failed when we had already unloaded some of our luggage, we were waiting In the hot corridor during attempts to fix it. It was eventually opened with a master key and we were moved to an alternative room. Room 203 has very noisy plumbing. Breakfast was very good and safe and had Gluten Free cooked items available as promised when we checked-in. Staff did well to control a group of workers who didn't seem to be aware of covid rules. It's an easy run to The Erskine bridge for a morning crossing without joining Glasgow traffic.
This Holiday Inn Express hotel is ideally located off the main A78 dual carriageway through Greenock, a few minutes’ drive from the local town centres and waterfront eating places. It adjoins the EE and Royal Bank of Scotland office complexes but is pleasantly set-back in a well-screened and landscaped plot. My room was a good size, nicely decorated and well-equipped including a large sofa, good wifi, hospitality tray, etc. The bathroom was large with a big double-size shower section and plenty of space for toiletries. Evening meals were available in the attractive lounge. Breakfast was good with a full cooked breakfast including toast and orange juice, as well as a continental option. Breakfast could be had in the lounge or in a takeaway bag. In the lounge, it was served with proper crockery, metal cutlery and glass/mug – a welcome step-up from the cheaper plastic/polystyrene containers that seem to be in use in some competing hotel chains at present. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were free newspapers available and I received a free drink and snack as part of their loyalty scheme. My room rate was very good value. Overall, this is an excellent branch of the Holiday Inn Express chain and recommended if you’re visiting the area for leisure or work.…
This was a one night stay, unfortunately evening meals were limited and no booze similar with breakfast, , however couldn't fault the room, even though hotel is not far from main road it was hard to hear any traffic noise.
