#13 of 23 hotels in Fort William
The Cruachan is designed with a traditional Scottish Highland façade and whilst the hotel has been, continues to be, sympathetically upgraded and modernised internally to provide all modern comforts, it has not lost its original character. The hotel has an enviable location overlooking Loch Linnhe and beyond the loch to the Morvern Hills. Guests can sit on the terrace outside the hotel in the summer, watching the boats on the loch and enjoying a quiet drink.

I stayed here for one night while I was walking the west highland way. Good location just a few minutes from the Main Street and overlooking the water. Quick check in and room was comfy, booked breakfast time the night before. Good sleep, tea/coffee in the room, free WiFi and toiletries. Breakfast had a good selection and a hot option to follow. Staff friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place and stay here again if passing through.

Booked a triple room for a long weekend with friends. Very clean, very well presented, brilliant breakfast and service. Couldn’t have been more happy with the choice of accommodation. Definitely recommend!

We stayed here for one night during our travels. I was impressed by the covid measures they have introduced. The room was a little tired. The laminate was peeling off the bathroom door and the carpet had a stain. The bed was comfortable though and we slept well. Breakfast was served very speedily and was okay. Not a big fan of the little long life milk cartons though for my tea - a small pot of fresh milk would be an improvement. Similarly, the mini packs of butter, margarine, jam and marmalade remind me of 1970s B&Bs. Some fresh local produce would have been preferred, especially considering the room cost was £130+ for the night.

This was our 40 wedding anniversary celebration (Ruby) our hotel was notified of this when we booked We paid 290 pound for two nights double room. We arrived and went into our room to look at view hoping for at least a view of the loch All we got was a pile of rocks outside window We queried with reception and dead told you have only booked a double and we do not have a superior to offer you We feel really disappointed and let down that no attempt was made by hotel in recognition of our celebration very cold To top it off on the last dat just after checking out due to inclement weather we waited in reception to get a drink for three hours as bar was closed after being advised it was open at 1600 we entered and got booted out because we had now checked out We felt we could have been advised of this The bar manager was quite rude in front of other guests We felt we could have saved a lot of money staying in the travelogue Would I recommend this hotel. NO

Excellent. Lovely room, recently renovated to high standard. Very good food and friendly attentive staff. Nice modern bar with good selection of whisky. Would definitely recommend and will be staying again as soon as possible.
