Some pros and cons about this hotel Pros. Easy to find, free parking(though tight for manoeuvring and too small.), staff friendly enough. Breakfast ok and good location. Cons. Very hard bed, this is personal but i didn't sleep well in the 3 nights here, decor on inside of hotel needs urgently updated. Reception newly done but elsewhere needs refreshing. Cleaning in room also not good top of our wardrobe was thick with dust, which I found out after moving a spare blanket to make space and got covered in dust. In general i would stay elsewhere in future as bed was really uncomfortable.
As a local to area, thought I give it a try, I ate before lock down was lifted, limited menu, but great food, tasty, presentation was woderfull every course, Ate again last week,All l can say , not same person, in kitchen, menu limited again, no ala carte menu, handed piece paper, really under staffed, some tables not being sprayed after use, Asian waiter looked tired, kept disappearing, touch of FALTY TOWERS , presentation poor, at the prices charged, most resedents eating there were moaning, not good enough, need professional staff , receptionist friendly, locals won't come at prises, if you need to find out how to do it, go isles Glencoe or wetherspoons, better food offered 1/4 of the price.
Without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Where do I start, firstly your in the middle of stunning scenery in Scotland and on entry to the newly refurbished hotel you are greeted with oriental style furnishings which are very garish and totally out of place. There is even a big picture in reception of the owner of the hotel which was also very tacky. The first room we were given which was sold as a superior room was a double and very tiny, but the worse thing one side of the bed was against a wall, so you could only get out one side. Spoke to the lady on reception who sorted the situation efficiently and gave us a new room. New room all seemed ok apart from the garish oriental furnishings. Decided to make a cup of tea from the welcome tray and went to fill the kettle up. That’s when I got the shock of my life 😬 opened the lid and was greeted with a kettle full of langoustines 🤮🤮🤮 not something you expect to see. Obviously it was some previous guest that had done it, but it should have been checked by housekeeping, but wasn’t. That was the end of the line for us, we took the kettle downstairs and showed the lady on reception who was clearly shocked too. Her response was do you want me to clean it for you 😬😬 we said no thanks we would like a full refund. She spoke to her manager and sorted quickly for us. I have to say the lady on reception dealt with the situation very well and professionally. That was the only positive experience of staying at the hotel.…
First impressions with the unkept car park exterior walls and weeds everywhere I feared the worst, however once inside it really didn’t match the outside. Really well presented inside throughout. We were in room 47 and the bed was huge (3 pillows wide) and very comfortable. The bathroom was really nice with a big waterfall shower. At £5.50 a pint we made the most of the spoons along the road, breakfast was ok but nothing special but the woman who served us was very attentive and most pleasant and welcoming. Not as bad as some of these reviews but I can only comment on my room etc.
We had a deluxe room with a lovely view of the Loch, busy roundabout at front but didn't detract from our stay too much. Room clean & tidy though a bit ' crowded'. Acceptable breakfast although staff training needs to be vastly improved & in the bar too. Absolutely no veggie alternative for breakfast or dinner & dinner menu handed to you, was a sheet of A4 paper that was not discarded after we'd used it but used for other diners. Food a disgrace. Lasagne looked like it had just slithered out of a frozen 'microwave meal' packet & you'd be hard pushed to find the mince. Barely a quarter inch thick. Very fishy smell in dining room, & the potato mash was out of a packet & disgusting.Very much take it or leave it. No a la carte menu either. Incorrect spellings on menu & information posters .... No excuse for that. We cancelled our dinner booking for our 2nd night as menu identical as 1st only the date was different !!! We ate elsewhere. …
