Hotel is situated perfectly at the town centre and overlooking Loch Linnhe. We had the corner room with the full glass frontage , giving a superb view south and westward. It also overlooked the nearby dual carriageway town bypass, but thankfully the traffic sounds never raised above slight background noise, and didn’t bother us at all. The room was a good size and included a fabulous and very comfortable four poster bed. The en-suite bathroom even had a jacuzzi bath installed. The Hotel itself is designed/built in the art-deco flavor and has been well looked after. Decor, furnishings and cleanliness were all of a high standard. We tended to eat out in the towns good choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants so can’t comment on the Hotel’s restaurant. Overall a very relaxing experience, and good value for money.…
AVOID THIS HOTEL!! We had one night at the Imperial Hotel at the start of June 2021 and was very disappointed with our stay. We now understand why this hotel still had vacancies compared to the other hotels and B&Bs which were fully booked for our date. The main positives were easy check-in, close to town centre, and beds were relatively comfy. For the negatives - We witnessed staff smoking right outside the front of the hotel when reception was quiet (this was not a good look for the hotel or for guests who had to walk through the smoke to access the entrance); the decor of the hotel was old and tired; our room smelt of smoke (as non-smoking guests this was not acceptable); there was no privacy in the bathroom - the neighbouring building had a window looking directly into our bathroom and with no blind this meant we had to find ways of getting into the bath/shower without people seeing us naked; and there was very limited parking (only 10 spaces). The biggest downfall was how the reception team/hotel dealt with our complaint - I woke up at 6am to find the ceiling dripping with water. It had obviously been doing this for a while but the sound had been muted by our clothes and other items which were lying underneath the leak and had been absorbing the water. Now fully saturated, the water was starting to ‘ping’ off our wet clothes/items. I went down to reception and found it to be closed until 8am. There was no emergency contact number in our room to raise this issue there and then. We managed to use the bins in the room to collect the water until 8am, although the dripping got progressively worse and spread across the room. It went behind the light switch and behind the TV meaning these couldn’t be used. I’m guessing it was also essentially unsafe with water in the electrics. The water was also brown in colour. When I raised this with the receptionist at 8am, she was rather unhelpful and at one point asked if we’d caused the problem (despite the water coming from above us). Whilst down at reception raising this complaint my sister ran down to inform us the water was now constantly pouring through the ceiling. The receptionist brought up extra buckets and after being surprised at the extent of the issue moved us to another room at 8.20am. Needless to say we only used this room to shower before leaving. The receptionist/hotel did not take any accountability or responsibility for this issue and gave a lame excuse about the reason for the leak. We were told ‘it wasn’t their fault the leak had happened’, and they proceeded to charge us the full amount of money for the room. It was only after contacting booking.com directly, who then contacted the hotel on our behalf, that a £10 discount was offered - but even then that £10 would not cover the laundry fee we’d have to pay to clean our sodden/dirty clothes or the reading book that was damaged by the leak. I informed the receptionist that I was not happy with the outcome and asked to speak with the manager. Apparently the manager was not in until the afternoon but would contact me to follow up on this complaint. I left my contact details, but needless to say it’s 3 days after my stay and I still haven’t been contacted by the manager. Overall appalling customer service and lack of help for guests should they encounter a problem. They clearly did not care that our stay had been disrupted or that our clothes/items were damaged. I will not be booking with this hotel again and will be advising others to stay well clear.…
Our short stay at the Imperial was made extra enjoyable by the attentive friendly staff, from the young lady in Reception when we booked in on the 6th June, to the lady on duty when we checked out, both couldn't have been more helpful. On checking in we couldn't get our card key to work and the Receptionist was there in a flash to assist us. Our room was very spacious, light, airy and spotless and the large bath made it extra special for a long, relaxing soak. Our experience in the Rio Pizzeria Restaurant was made more enjoyable by the attentiveness and friendliness of the Staff. We both had pasta dishes and they were a treat and topped off a lovely evening in the Hotel. We both had a great sleep and woke up rested and refreshed and ready for breakfast, and once again the Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was cooked to perfection. On checking out we asked the young lady in Reception if we could leave our car in the Car Park for half an hour until we went across the road to buy some gifts and she said this would be fine as long as our car was in a designated parking space. Our experience at the Imperial was superb and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to the Scottish Highlands. The attention to the Covid regulations were of the highest of standards and made you feel you were in a safe environment. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay extra special, keep up the good work.…
Really lovely hotel in an amazing location. Staff went above and beyond to make my stay an enjoyable one. The room was lovely and I would definitely recommend stating here if you happen to be in Fort Williams
The food was amazing and the staff we could not of picked a better place to eat. King prawns and the chicken done to perfection and there was loads of mussels on my wife's plate we had a bottle of white wine and this came to £55 a bargain. The waiter was lovely and there was a 3 course meal for 14 pound.
