My husband promised as soon as restrictions were lifted we would be off to see my daughter. He contacted the owner who was more than happy to help. True to her word we got notified we could stay so we booked and were on our way. As our previous stay we received a very warm welcome. They were new to Covid having opened for the first time since lockdown. They did everything possible to make us feel safe. It is a wonderful place with wonderful thoughtful and caring hosts. You can tell they are professional. I am glad we had that time there and will treasure those memories until the next time we can travel to the Highland to see family
So back in January (2020) I had asked the owners about rearranging a night I had booked with them and requested October which I never received a response about so I never thought any more on it and didn't think the room has been booked. The owner sent me an email to confirm the booking 2 days before and I initially thought they had emailed the wrong person as I had totally forgotten about the booking (bear in mind 10 months that had passed) Had a few back and forth emails with the owner which was agreed would paid (£85 instead of £145) for the room as was partially my error but I thought down to them too as I wasn't told it was booked. She did say at this stage wouldn't be able to re-book the room at such a late stage but I checked their website and the other rooms are available so I doubt the room would have been booked anyway. I have to be honest I found her very abrupt and I didn't like the way I was spoken to as it was a genuine mistake on my part, so to be accused of denying any acknowledgement was unnecessary and honestly upset me because I'm not that sort of person I also didn't appreciate after saying I was concerned about travelling because of Covid being told by her because the Highlands were a lower risk area I was safe to travel. I have been limiting my activities since March as I feel that's the safest option for me so I thought that was inappropriate Because of this interaction I will never stay here again (I have stayed here before this issue) because I did not deserve the treatment I was given and has really upset me. Word of mouth is free so I won't be recommending this lodge ever again and will tell anyone who asks me why. Very disappointed and left a very sour taste in my mouth I'm not sure if the lodge is given chance to response to this but nothing I haven't already told her by email so I don't feel a reply is required and don't think I want to have her say anything more to me that will upset me further…
Gorgeous setting just round the corner from Culloden and around 15mins drive from central Inverness. We stayed a single night in the premium Nairn room. Everything was spotless, full 5-star facilities - even comp. Sherry and Ferrero Rocher in the room! Lovely friendly welcome, real family atmosphere. Owners coping very well with Covid measures and made us feel right at home. Breakfast v.tasty and filling! Excellent value experience, couldn't recommend highly enough. Thanks!
Fabulous farm house set on its own grounds in the beautiful countryside with just the two highland cattle Boris and Donald as neighbours. The property is immaculate inside and out, kept very clean indeed and the room had lovely touches like the decanter of sherry! The hosts are a lovely warm and welcoming couple and provide a beautiful service. The breakfast is pre ordered the night before and really is something to look forward to in the morning and all freshly cooked using quality local produce, really excellent! The breakfast is served in a lovely dining room where you can eat your breakfast whilst watching the wild life outside. With the property a few minutes from the A9 it give easy access to the local area and attractions like Loch Ness, Inverness and the Murray firth. They take the issue of Covid 19 seriously and provide all the necessary safe guards. For us it was the perfect place to escape to and would recommend this property to anyone travelling to the area.…
"I loved my stay at Daviot Lodge. Everything was perfect. My room was spacious and modern and had a beautiful view over the surrounding valleys and fields. Daviot Lodge is located in a picture perfect setting. I loved the quiet and tranquility. The entire lodge was very clean and well maintained. There was so much attention to detail which made it beautiful to stay here. Margaret and her husband are a lovely couple. Both are very kind and welcoming. In addition, there is a lovely breakfast included in the price. I can certainly recommend this place to other travelers and will for sure come back myself. "
