We stayed three nights in this hotel and overall it's pretty run down. Even without considering the old fashioned internal design, the rooms are very aged, from the broken tiles in the bathroom to the stains in the carpet; lack of attention to details is evident, too, for example in the broken soap dispensers, as well as the low level of cleanliness, proudly shown by the yellow shower curtains. At least linens are clean. At the time of our visit, breakfast wasn't served in the communal room because of Covid, but delivered in front of every guest's room in the morning. This was actually a smart and nice touch and, even if small, it was of good quality. Overall pleased with Covid regulations in place. Staff is professional, though not very friendly or warm. Price is in general affordable, though not worthy of what you get in return. It's evident that this hotel screams for a big refurbishment to go back to its past glory (if there had ever been one),…
booked this after a former hotel cancelled due to Covid. Having stayed at Jurys inn Aberdeen a few times we expected a 4* type of accomodation. definitely was not. arrival check in was ok..polite staff. hand sanitiser at door. lift floor was needing swept out. carpet in corridor badly stained. we had a basic double plus single bed room. i jokingly said to hubby he could have the single! on first glance room looked clean and tidy. closer inspection was another matter but mostly cosmetic. decor badly needing redone. our bedroom window didnt shut properly, almost like the frame was bent! i dont like warm rooms, and usually have window open a fraction...but the weather was awful. when we tried to close window properly..had to force it! was terrified it would break...and still we had wind whistling through it. curtains were missing hooks. carpets badly stained. very poor lighting...nothing overhead beside bed. not great for makeup or hair. mirror above desk was covered in "wipe" marks. side of the desk had splashes from tea/coffee. the bathroom was in a very poor state. door had big chunks missing at the bottom. the bath panel silicon was peeling off. the vent above the bath was coming off. very old fixed head shower...yellowed with age. alot of mouldy patches. the built in toilet roll holder had some dubious brown marks. the floor...behind the door very dusty. i actually went over everything with sanitiser. the beds? nice comfy pillows, comfy bed...but double is a "small" double...so i slept in the single! which was fine...proper bed, not a pullout sofa style. we ate in restaurant both nights. food was ok, but a bit pricey for what was a pretty basic menu. very polite waaiter on..think he was called Aaron? we didnt have breakfast...learned from a previous hotel that the Covid breakfast was not worth paying for. all in all...it was ok, but nothing special. would i return? doubt it. as i said previously, most things a cosmetic issue so NO..i didnt go charging down to reception demanding another room..i imagine theyre all the same.…
Be very careful if booking during these covid19 times. My elderly, pensioner mother is still waiting on a refund of £225 from this hotel after coronavirus prevent us staying as the hotel was closed. We are nearly 4 month's later with umpteen emails via booking.com and Jurys Inn who are not even replying now. Totally unacceptable.
How does this hotel get 4 stars ? Breakfast is delivered (thrown at your door around 6am) which woke us up each day. You are then expected to go down to Reception before 10am to get a hot bap !!! Why ? 4 stars & we have to wait around 15 mins in Reception while they get a couple of Baps ready !!! Stayed in 3 other hotels in days leading up to this stay & ALL supplied a cooked breakfast in the Restaurant. Why is this one not doing the same.? Room just about ok but really nothing special & Reception staff very very very slow. Last time I stay at a Jury’s Inn.
Just back from a weekend at this lovely hotel we were visiting the Highland Wildlife Park & Landmark Adventure Park.. obviously due to covid things are very different now but the staff are handling these unprecedented times remarkably well & everywhere is spotlessly clean... lovely breakfast picnic delivered to the room every morning & a breakfast roll can be picked up downstairs as well if required.. we had dinner in the bar our 1st night & the food was lovely.. We used the pool & jacuzzi to relax all very well organised only so many people allowed in at one time plenty signs everywhere to keep you right..Will definitely be back nxt time we're in that neck if the woods.. thx for a great stay 👍
