Stayed for just one night at the end of November, it would have been lovely to stay much longer. The hotel has a cosy country house feel, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room with a view over the firth, escorted to our room on arrival which was a very nice touch. Room was...

We stayed here for a couple of nights in mid November 2014. We arrived at dusk and many of the windows were still uncurtained and we could see that there were flickering fires in large fireplaces, ambient lighting and part views of four poster beds. It all looked very welcoming and cosy. Although close to the main road this was...

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in, not for the decor or any superficiality, but for the ambiance, and the old furnishings and paintings, and the wonderful staff. The food was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable with all required facilities. The atmosphere in the whole hotel was of quiet genteelness, helped along by the...

Lovely place, myself and partner had afternoon tea here in front of a blazing fire. Staff were more than accommodating and recommended we sit in front of the fire. Scones were served with cream and jam and were amazing!!!! I would highly recommend, the location is so pretty and staff were lovely.

Lovely old hotel on banks of the Beauly Firth, rooms and bathrooms are large and airy .Hotel has some real local history and even boasts its own ghost. Food is good and staff are very friendly. There are no lifts to the upper floors so take climbing boots with you.But views from some of the rooms are stunning.

First off, I would like to say the young woman who helped us check in and who waited on us for our stay was just wonderful! Definitely personalized service at its finest. Now.... For the hotel itself. Outside it clearly has been a little neglected with no signs of that lovely hotel properties you see in upscale lodgings. Car park...

Wonderfully positioned on the shore of the Beauly Firth in substantial grounds. A baronial style building that retains its character & links to the owning family ( portraits on the walls etc). Furnishings are also Scottish baronial ie mix of dramatic colours & patterns - if you like that kind of thing - but it matches the character of the...

We live close by this hotel, and four of our friends stayed to celebrate our silver wedding. They, quite simply, loved it. It could be argued that some of the furniture is dated, but it's in keeping - this is a very old house. It's warm and welcoming, it enfolds you in an embrace of the friendliest hospitality. The grounds...

We stayed one night there and what a lovely old mansion. Other reviewers had comments about the wait staff. We had no problem. The dining room was great also the food and the service. We loved the historical aspect of the house and grounds. We thought that the draperies and furniture in the bar and lounge room could use a steam...

This was our favorite hotel from our Scotland trip. The location is perfect, very close to town and yet in a beautiful, quiet spot overlooking the firth I have seen other reviewers say the furniture is dated, but the furniture in our room was fine, and I liked the older feel of the place. The house is hundreds of years...
