Arrived here with my husband 29th September for 3nights, Linette and Dermot the owners are very friendly and will do anything to make your stay perfect. Great knowledge of the area. Rooms and gardens are gorgeous and sitting in the balcony at night time so relaxing.

We normally stay in hotels but the look of this modern B&B swayed us and when we arrived it exceeded our expectations. Linett & Dermot have found the perfect balance between providing hospitality & giving guests their privacy. The room itself was beautiful and huge! The nice touches of complimentary soft drinks in the fridge was really appreciated. We spent both nights in the room as it was so nice and we had been out exploring all day. Linett recommended where we could get a takeaway and provided us with plates. We liked the location, it was a walk away from Inverness centre but it was by the canal and that was more of a pleasant walk. We would definitely stay again. We could like in the Telford room quite happily.

Just back from a 3 night stay at linette and dermots place. From start to finish was a perfect stay. Nothing to much bother from linettes fabulous breakfasts to dermots abundance of knowledge on the local area. Spotless clean rooms. We stayed in a junior suite with balcony. This comprised of it's own sitting room, bedroom and beautiful bathroom. Will definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area.

We were touring Scotland for 2 weeks & unfortunately stayed 3 nights at this B&B. Nordic Visitor booked our stay here. This place is not close to anything & the British hostess Linette was condescending and miserable. We only met the owner Dermot briefly at breakfast the first morning. He was very pleasant and said he was delighted to have us. She was not. She told us where to sit at the long table for breakfast as that was where she had her set up. Which would have been fine but it was the tone she used- we both felt like we were in grade school. She made the breakfast which was not very good and during the 3 morning my husband found one of her hairs in his eggs. Since she was so condescending he did not say anything. She would leave a slip on the table the afternoon before in our room for your breakfast order the next day along with the time you wanted. She never asked where we were from or why we were visiting. She assumed we knew how to make calls & that Nordic visitor should have instructed us better. This house is architecturally interesting. Our room was quite large and comfortable. The bathroom had a separate shower and a very large bathtub. There was a sliding glass door that opened to a deck but the chairs were filthy. There were cobwebs with giant spiders all along the deck. The deck overlooks a pond but it was full of algae and bugs. There is a partial view of the waterway. There were snacks and some nonalcoholic drinks provided on the first day but were not replenished. The location of this house is not close to town. We would have liked to get a taxi but our hostess only gave us 6 digits. When we went to find her she would not come to the door since it was already 5:05pm.

Response from Linette Marsden, Owner at Inverness House

Hello thehappytravelors We’re sorry to hear you had a less than happy stay with us which, as you can see from our reviews, is not the usual experience of our guests. I remember your stay from over a year ago as the couple I made the restaurant reservation for when you arrived, but you declined my offer to arrange a taxi and preferred to drive. However, you did not turn up for the booking and unfortunately did not let me or the restaurant know. It would appear that you are still upset by my explanation that as it’s a short, busy season here restaurants usually have a waitlist and it would have been helpful to let me know so that I could cancel the reservation and they could pass the booking to someone else. There was also the incident of the front door being left open on a very windy day while you loaded your car which meant leaflets and other items were blown around our hallway. You seemed to take offence at my closing the door and then left without saying goodbye. There are other comments of yours which I could address, but will leave it there as they all seem to stem from the umbrage taken regarding the restaurant issue. We hope that should you ever return to Inverness, you happily find accommodation better suited to your needs. All the best Linette
