Absolutely a stunning place to stay. Rooms are amazing food outstanding, staff wonderful. Definitely lives upto it's 5 * rating.
Beautiful surroundings with Wick Town 5 minutes away, The Heritage Centre was so interesting. Lovely coves to drive to, John O'Groats 15 mins away.
A lovely place. All members of staff were friendly and helpful. The room was most comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent as was the afternoon tea. Lovely location overlooking the sea. There are quite a few sitting rooms in which to feel at home.
A magical location and a wonderful castle. The service was excellent. We stayed in Blue and the room was luxurious with an incredible view. The food was amazing (dinner and breakfast both) and although there's no bar there are numerous sitting rooms where staff will...More
We loved our stay in the spooky and atmospheric Ackergill Tower. It has kept its authenticity well but is just slightly frayed round the edges. The staff are all young but very enthusiastic and clearly proud of the hotel. Keen to offer tours and show...More
Beautiful historic tower on East Coast - lovely location on the bay, considerately converted into a good hotel. Rooms are all individual - we had Nun’s room with lovely big windows and four poster bed, very small bathroom (understandable given the practicalities o& conversion). dining...More

Sorry I don't know for sure either - but taking into consideration there is no elevator and the upstairs rooms involve a LOT of stair climbing, I would think not in the main building. You'll want to phone them and ask, because I emailed a question well in advance of our visit and never got a reply.

You will be by the ocean, enjoying the amazing view and a cool steady breeze so there might not be a close encounter of the infamous Scottish Midge. However, just a few things to know to help you be prepared in case you do encounter them. They bite, not hard, but enough to be irritating. They typically come around early June and stay up to October. They like cool, shady, damp and calm conditions and are most active in early morning and evenings. Midges tend to avoid direct strong sunlight and white or light clothing. Try not to wear dark clothing. And if you are interested in possibly using repellent, try Skin So Soft – dry oil body spray. Avon makes it. Just something I read. Soft skin and midgy free. Enjoy your time there and if you have time take the tour. It is truly an amazing place.
