Our Hotel was originally a 19th. century coaching inn which has been updated and extended over the years. We took over the Hotel on 7th. September 2012 and have carried out extensive refurbishments over the winter months, beginning with totally new en-suites for each room which were completed by the end of February, 2013.We have added new furniture and lamps and will be redecorating every room and adding new beds and other furniture to present a higher standard than before. The exterior of the Hotel is currently being repainted and this work should be completed before the end of May, 2013.

We really enjoyed our family meal here. Nice food, quiet, friendly atmosphere and close to our holiday cottage. Limited choice but that wasn't a problem for us as there were plenty things that we liked.

Booked for dinner as we were staying in a local Bnb and we weren’t disappointed. We each had two courses and shared some wine. Everything was great including the service. Each had a starter- soup and warm Brie followed by burger and steak . All were perfect. Would recommend.

Not a huge problem but we arrived a few minutes early and the hotel was shut. Our rooms were clean and comfortable if a little small. Its on the main road from Thurso to John O'Groats but the rooms were quiet. Food was was good. Staff seemed a little tired. Little know fact? Harr

in response to your comments we did not have a domestic - your wife was rude and did clean up while we were eating - I had no problem with the clearing of dishes but did have with the loitering. We have stayed in many hotels - we were not aggressive towards any member of staff and think you are very out of order writing personally about my husband and myself - I wrote facts
My wife was shocked and upset by your unwarranted aggressiveness towards her and she could not understand why you shouted at her in such a fashion. Had you been dissatisified with your room you should have said so at the outset but when I showed you in your comment was "lovely". As you were arguing at breakfast we believe you took out your anger on my wife and this is not acceptable behaviour from anyone - we are all only human. Are you confusing my wife with the waitress? You certainly confused staff accommodation from guest accommodation!

"Pick the room upstairs with bath, it is bigger."
"Don't take room 7 or 8 unless you know each other really well! Reviews of the main hotel rooms seem positive, so stick with them."
"The free wifi is available in the main part of the building - the lounge and dining areas. Just take your device in there and relax."
"Don't come here"
"ask for room in main building. Did not see them but they could only be better"
