We visited this establishment during our recent tour of the UK and unfortunately were disappointed with the experience. The pub is one of the oldest in Inverness and has great bud but is being poorly run by the current staff. We went for lunch on a Sunday and it appeared as if all the staff were hung over from the...

Need I say more. Smelly dogs, poor rooms. This is should not be called a hotel. It's is just very poor lodgings. Can't believe anyone can say this is acceptable as somewhere to stay. The owners were nice enough but the smell was all over the hotel. Dogs barking is not what I want to hear

Kathy and Ian were very interesting and knowledgeable hosts. provided a room upgrade when one was available at no charge. Service was above and beyond what I expected. security was provided by Rudy and molly announcing arrivals and doors were locked but monitored for late night entrance if you were out evenings. International staff and locals provided me with very...

Travelled for three hrs with my family and was totally shocked at what we found. A very old smelly and filthy hotel, bar closed, kept their dogs in the lounge, clearly no cooking on the premises but would'nt have eaten there anyway, hardly a whole stick of furniture in the room.  Should not be open for business.......steer clear!!!!

My dad and I were on a fly-by-night trip in Scotland for a month. We found Beauly on the map and decided to stay there for the night. We stumbled upon the Caledonian and were not disappointed. We were welcomed with open arms by Ian and Kath and the cat Calligula. We were treated to a great dinner of lamb...

I feel privilaged to have stayed in this 300 year old atmospheric building, which is run by genuine, warm, friendly, helpful, socialable, generous, amazingly good chefs, with big hearts and a love of animals.

The inn/hotel is dated and kitschy, but I enjoyed it. It feels like an old inn that's remained half-frozen since the 70's. The proprietors Iain and Cathy are hospitable and friendly and complimentary morning breakfast is cooked! There's no open entry (door is occasionally locked and accessible by buzzing Iain or Cathy) and no in-room fridges (although there is complimentary...

Stayed here with a couple of mates for the Bealach Mhor Sportive. Having read some of the reviews I was not sure what to expect but feared the worst. I am pleased to say it was absolutely fine, the building may be old and the decor perhaps dated but my room was clean and the bed was comfy. The owner...
