Positives Central location Nice bar area Friendly staff Lift Negatives Windows didn’t shut properly therefore Noisy Grubby Rubbish evident from previous guests No 28 inch tv as advertised Old fashioned tiny Tv only had 2 working channels Bathroom repairs done shoddily I was in a twin room no 107 and paid £92 for the privilege (I booked about 8/10 weeks in advance too). Although there were 2 sets of double glazing the outer ones were open and I couldn’t close them. When I went out I asked that someone went and did it but I assume one was stuck as it was still open on my return. The inner double glazing appeared broken and the tilt and turn window was hanging off one hinge. Therefore the room was noisy and I can only thank my lucky stars that the local bar underneath closed at 12. The bedding was clean and on the surface the room appeared clean but as you will see from my uploaded photos, there were stains on the skirtings and walls, leaks and there was an empty water bottle behind the bedside cabinet and bits of paper (from a sugar wrapping) on the floor. The bathroom had bits of sealant replaced messily, grout was dirty and the bath panel had seen better days. A friend stayed just round the corner for £65 with breakfast included and had a great night. I’ll be letting her book my hotels in future. This room should not be rented out again until it’s been upgraded. We wouldn’t put up with that quality from a B&B on ‘Four in a bed’ so why should a big Glasgow city centre hotel get away with such poor quality. Very disappointing.…
This hotel is in a great location with plenty of bars and shops. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. I had a twin room. The room was clean but needs some TLC. Carpet worn with holes in parts. furniture chipped and TV very small and didn't work great. Bathroom also needs sorted, some tiles broken and mould in tiles as I said needs some issues fixed.
Had stayed here on the 17th of February also again on the 2nd of March. From coming in on the 17th, we were very welcomed by a lovely Hungarian woman called Laura, very bubbly and polite. Even us a group of lads who had a wee tipple, she was brilliant! Also the 2nd visit was just as good if not better. Bobby also aswell! Thanks again, shall be back soon 😊 x
Have stayed here a few times previously and while the rooms, decor etc could be better, it's a minor quibble for me. Glasgow for me is purely for football trips so this place suits me down to the ground, good value, central, easy check in, brilliant location. The staff on every occasion have been great., really friendly, helpful and down to earth, no bs from them. I'd a couple of mates in their 60's with me this time and was a bit concerned they might find fault, but no they loved it too. Haven't tried the food in the bar which is a proper bar by the way. Probably not a place for a romantic getaway i would suggest but for anything else it ticks all the boxes.
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and always have had a good experience. The reason for this review is that I have booked two family members for a over night stay and due to one couple having to cancel because of covid I contacted Fiona the manager to see if I could change the dates and she was so helpful and friendly and obliging. Thanks again for your help..
Very close to central station and the buzz of Glasgow city. You enter through the Indian restaurant, lift access. Disappointingly no breakfast available, which was refunded, but meant finding other places. Room was big, very high ceiling. Really could do with some TLC. Carpet threadbare in places, paint coming off, cracked tiles, different heights to the 2 single beds pushed together - and the tiniest bath I have seen! Was an OK place to stay given its location - just dont expect any frills
Stayed here for a night as we were going out in Glasgow. When we arrived, the check in was prompt and the staff were helpful when I asked for a different room as our bed had stains on it. The rooms are badly in need of renovation as the carpets are threadbare and the bathroom is on its last legs. Apart from this, it was cheap and I slept well.
Nice budget hotel. The reception and when you enter the hotel is very modern and clean. Receptionist was lovely and very clear/helpful. However once you get in the lift, it changes. The lift is very creaky which does unsettle you a little. Out of the lift and back to the nice modern corridors. We found our room easily. The room itself was very clean and tidy. Only things wrong were the TV, we got about 3 channels. It’s ok if you’re on a night on the town, however we like to relax at night. Also the bathroom wasn’t the best. Paint peeling away on the bath and the tiles were chipped. Inside the bath looked like someone had burnt part of it. Overall, not bad and if I was looking for somewhere to stay a night then I’d come back but not if I wanted a little city break.
Stayed here for one night and thankfully it was only one night. The reception area in a bar was nice enough and a friendly welcome that's about the only positive thing I can say unfortunately. The room was terrible threadbare carpets, scraped and badly repaired woodwork, tv had been replaced but they hadn't taken the old one away the bathroom was no better broken tiles that moved when you walked in and the area around the bathroom walls were really grubby and overall not really clean got up early as we had an early flight only to discover the shower didn't work!!! It was just the night man on when we checked out so just left key. I emailed the hotel and almost 2 weeks later no reply so thought I would share my review and pictures to let people see the state of the rooms
First time in Glasgow and this hotel is across the road from the central train station and in the thick of it, great location. Arrived early but my room was ready, check in quick and dropped pack in the room so I could explore. Room had tea/coffee, toiletries, tv with good choice of channels and free WiFi. This was a stop over on one night, bar was open but restaurant was not however surrounded by places to eat. Hot shower, clean, good sleep and room very comfortable. Not pricey for the location, would use again if in the area.
