Great little hotel Ideal location. Central Room very clean Breakfast included Buffet style. Everything continously topped up Small bar at reception Staff so welcoming and friendly Would definetly come back
Firstly , the staff here are lovely. We checked in at 11pm , after flight got in and we went straight onto the express bus which takes you to 5 mins walk to the hotel. Nice friendly welcome and banter ...first impressions DO make a difference . Our room was 166 and though immaculate , looked into a wall . Which seemed ( not sure) to be above a door staff used . At 6am people were talking away and woke us up and doors banging . At night ,a security lamp would go on and throw light into the room . Also there is a gap of about 4 inches at the bottom of the door so anyone walking up and down the corridor made a light automatically go on. And the light again came into the room , so we stuffed clothes down , to keep light from entering. Then , when you wanted light , there was no natural daylight because of the wall , so make up was a bit or miss . ( Important to girlies lol ) . Back to the positive. The beds were lovely and comfy, and the room clean. Yes premier rooms seem bigger , but so was the price on this occasion . The dining room was just along the corridor ,,bright ,clean, with friendly staff and nice food . Good variety , no problems at all . The hotel is really well located for trains and bus stations , lots resteraunts , cinema, pubs . But the stuff were just great , nothing was a problem , always smiling and helpful , and stored our bags away til we had to leave Glasgow . I would definately return ....just not to room 166 . Thanks for a great stay guys . …
Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. Nothing was too much hassle for the staff. They let us leave our luggage until it was time to catch the bus. One of our friends left their kindle in the room and the wonderful staff are posting it out to her. Will definitely be back. Perfect location, exceptionally clean, staff amazing 👏
The location of this hotel is ideal for travellers using Buchanan Bus Station as it’s across the road. It’s a few minutes walk from both the main Glasgow train stations, the shopping streets and several restaurants and convenience stores. There is a cinema across the road with a Starbucks in it. Upon check in the reception staff were standoffish and unwelcoming. The man next the girl attending to us was downright rude to a couple next to us, barking at him to put his mask on. Yes masks are mandatory in Scotland but there’s a way of speaking to people! The lady who checked us out was lovely though and stored our luggage for us after check out. Breakfast was average with a relatively good selection although the hot food was lukewarm and the toaster was awful resulting in soggy warm bread for my poor nephew 🙈 I’m glad I wiped everything in the room down with my own antibacterial wipes prior to letting him touch anything however because there were dirty marks on the towels in the bathroom, mould along the shower cubicle and hairs on the floor. I think it’s a tad overpriced for what it is because it has much the same facilities as a Premier Inn which is often cheaper and although HIE offers breakfast included in the rate I don’t think it’s worth it for the room itself. That said, I would have stayed here again had the cleanliness not been an issue but as such I wouldn’t recommend it…
Only stayed one night (Room 256) but no problems at all. Room was more than adequate, well equipped and clean. Although specified as sound-proofed, that doesn’t cover the underground train rumble which happens regularly (although not throughout the night, thankfully)! Buffet Breakfast was included - slightly limited choice on hot food, but what was available was hot and topped up regularly. Hotel very conveniently located for transport links, shopping, Royal Concert Hall, Pavilion Theatre and cinema.
Really nice hotel. Clean. Breakfast was good but only had a small portion Receptionist I think was new as she struggled a bit on check in but we got there in the end. Definatley recommend others to come here. Overall really enjoyed my stay here.
A superbly situated hotel near serval restaurants and bars, only a short walk to Glasgow Queen Street. Special thanks to Stephannie for a wonderful welcome and offering great advice for where to eat after a late evening arrival. The rooms are clean with smart TVs and irons and ironing boards in all rooms. Breakfast was buffet style and with friendly staff.
My wife and I stayed here on Friday overnight whilst shopping and attending events in Glasgow City Centre. Reception staff were very attentive and George was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and tidy, as well as cosy and warm. Later on we spent a few hours at the bar and were very well looked after by Stephanie with her warm manner and friendly banter! At breakfast in the morning the young person maintaining the stock did an excellent job and is an excellent example to other young people. The breakfast was plentiful, warm and tasty!
Stayed here for a short stay whilst travelling around Glasgow. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city centre, subway, train & bus station all within a few minutes walk away. An abundance of shops and eateries on your doorstep. The hotel offers an inclusive hot buffet breakfast within its rate, this recently refurbished hotel offers the additional sofa beds in the rooms. Sadly no fridge or comfy chairs but it is a budget brand and you do get the standard power shower, inclusive breakfast, kettle and television so in fairness what more can you want for the price. Would stay here again as it was a comfortable nights stay, warm cosy rooms and decent value for money. Security check via Room Pass in lift is an added reassurance for security and peace of mind whilst staying here.…
We got there at around 17:30 and went to check in. Everything was going fine until we had to show our ID’s which we did and they refused checking us in because a YoungScot card is “an invalid form of ID”. When we told them that we don’t have a drivers licence or a passport as we are only 17-18 and that is our form of ID they turned around and said that it says on booking.com that they only accept passport or drivers licence. As I never read this before on booking.com I went to double check thinking I just missed it but nothing was there. It didn’t say anywhere that they don’t accept anything but that. Staff were also very rude and grumpy, not helpful at all, didn’t even try and help us or give us directions to another hotel near by, all they did was tell us to cancel the booking we made as it’s free and we’ll receive all our money back, which we didn’t! We didn’t even receive half of it back which is absolutely ridiculous as we’ve been told we’ll get all of it back. We just took our bags and left. This has to be the most shocking and worst experience ever. I do not recommend and will definitely never book with them again.…
