the website shows you pictures of 2 rooms which look really nice, they don't show the other rooms because they badly need updating, plain, tired, do not represent the website or the price compared to other hotels, also the view was not of the necropolis or the cathedral as advertised but of the roof of the building (turret room).... however,...

Adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral and The Necropolis. This place should be busy every day. Our food was simple but really tasty and cooked well. No Brake Brothers' specials, just proper home made fare. Inexpensive too. Definitely worth a visit. In a great location and amongst beautiful buildings with intriguing, chilling histories.

After a most interesting tour of the nearby Necropolis, we stopped in for a late lunch. The bar area is warm, welcoming and comfortable and the service was friendly. Drinks were served very quickly. The menu had a few veggie options - I had the chilli burger. Jalapeños were promised but there did not appear to be any with my...

Visited pub killing time before nipping round the corner (well not quite round the corner) to the Tennents Brewery. A nice pub in a characterful building with an atached hotel apparently. Good service, nice atmosphere and eveidently as much used by locals as visitors to the nearby Cathedral, Oldest House, St Mungos etc.

This hotel is quite characterful, but rather shabby. The towels and bedlinen were spotless, which is great, but the bathroom was really run-down and quite grubby. Staff were pleasant, with the general management style a little quaint. The location is good - opposite the Necropolis and near the Cathedral, with the walk into the city centre taking you past some...

Very old building next to the Cathedral. No elevator so had to go up 3 sets of spiral stairs to get to room, which was modest but adequate. Parking available meant a parking meter across the street that required feeding periodically throughout the day. Staff at the hotel bar/restaurant were kind enough to feed the meter when we were out...

Popped into the hotel for a quick drink and had a welcoming reception. The bar staff were friendly and the bar area was love and clean. We noted that the food looked lovely. Soup and a sandwich for £5.

We stopped by for a refuel after visiting the cathedral. We ordered coffee and cake. Cakes were unmistakably home made - delicious Victoria sponge and excellent value. A quirky little place we would happily return to sample the restaurant menu. Staff were really friendly too

Please don't bother. The pictures show the main issue we had, caused by a total lack of customer care, no blind in the bathroom, once we pointed it out the staff did their best, with a sheet stuck up with masking tape. The blind in the bedroom was hanging off on our arrival and we asked for it to be...

Stayed here one night. Public bar area very welcoming and good atmosphere, music that was playing was excellent and bar staff very friendly and warm. Our room was on the top floor so quite a few stairs to get to it, no use if you have mobility problems. Our room was small with a decent sized en-suite. The bed was...
