Four of us ate here with two courses for £17 which is great value. All the meals were well cooked, presented and good portion sizes. The food was all piping hot and very tasty. Great service also well worth eating here. The bar area could do with being a bit warmer but has an open fire. A bar which was a bit run down certainly has a new lease of life and has been refurbished well.
Had a very comfortable one night stay here recently. I expected a room above a pub so my expectations weren't high, but was really impressed with the room which was comfortable, well equipped, and plenty of character. The pub itself is also fantastic. Nice relaxed atmosphere, good selection of beers. The continental breakfast was also very nice and more than adequate to kick off the day. Also found the staff on arrival and at breakfast the next day to be very friendly and helpful. I'll be sure to stay again and have already recommended it to others.
This is a small city centre hotel with 6 bedrooms I Popped in for a real ale and stayed for some lunch. The bar has a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere with polite and friendly staff. I had mackerel pate, Cullen skink and cheese. The food was excellent and nicely presented. Will certainly return
Stayed for just one night on a business trip. Couldn't fault it friendly staff with nicely styled rooms in a great location. Only had a small bite to eat but the food I saw looked great, would recommend
This property is located near Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis, High Street, Merchant’s Square (restaurants), and Market Square. Check in is at the bar. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A great sense of humor is displayed on signs and the hotel welcome letter. The restaurant/bar have a buzzing scene and offer numerous wines by the glass. There is no elevator and the way up to guest rooms is up narrow staircase. Very small room and bathroom, barely room to walk around beds (we had twin) but fairly inexpensive. 6 rooms on 3rd fl (2nd fl in UK) No amenities other than hand soap (no shower cap, shampoo, liquid soap in shower) Very slow internet Free cold breakfast - fresh berries, Greek yogurt, banana/kiwi/tangerine, croissants, toast, granola, butter, ham, ok, cranberry juice, coffee, tea. Bloody Mary (advertised but dn order), 10£ for hot breakfast. Room 4, no extra key. We accidentally took it, called at 1:00 to return so room could be cleaned b4 next guests at 2:30. (We were at Burrell Collection).…
Our room was tiny. Two out of three overhead lights were not working. We told the staff twice and they just told us "sorry" - there was no management (that we know of) on site. It wasn't an expensive room, but the service was not so great.
We stayed for two nights and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Room was clean and a good size. Bar was great and staff informed us upon checking in they had a function on the first floor but they would be finished by 10pm and we never heard any noise from them at all.
Had no idea this place was a hotel. But, what I do know is that this is a great spot for pints. A great spot inside, and a lovely beer garden outdoors with the whole space being very clean and inviting. It has enough space for gatherings with friends without interfering with other parties. Not to mention, the staff are incredibly friendly! Will be back next summer.
Only stayed for 1 night but enjoyed it. Room was a good size with a large shower and nice big towels. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately never got to try the food but a friend had said it was very good. Bar was bustling and had live music. Smallcar park for residents which was good. Outside bar area too.
Stayed here on a Sunday night for the Gerry Cinnamon gig at Hampden. Firstly I have to commend every single member of staff we encountered. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bar the accommodation sits above had an excellent vibe from what we saw of it. The room (2) was modern and perfect for what we needed. Had tea and coffee making facilties and a fan which was much needed in the high temps at the moment. Also requested iron and ironing board which was no problem. Breakfast was excellent for continental. We didn’t realise a cooked breakfast was an option (our fault) so if your looking for this you’ll pay a bit more and need to request it in advance. Great location just a 10 min walk from Queen Street station. Highly recommend it and would definitely stay again next time we’re in Glasgow. Big thanks to all the staff, you really make this place and get it a 5/5 review from us.…
