Travellers' Choice
Based right in the heart of Glasgow, adjacent to Queen Street Station and Buchanan Street and with the airport bus service stopping right at our door, we are the perfect city centre base. We are four star rated, and each of our 64 bedrooms feature a complimentary Minibar and decanted spirits, multi channel LCD TV with Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3, desk, and bathroom with bath and power shower to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing stay while you are with us. WiFi is free for the duration of your stay, and so are local phone calls. National calls are just 3p per minute. Located on the 7th floor of the hotel, Windows is Glasgow's only rooftop restaurant. Windows Restaurant serves delicious dishes created with local produce with menus changing to reflect what's in season. In fact, the food is only matched by the view over the rooftops of Glasgow! Breakfast is served in Windows in the morning, or can be delivered to your room. Guests can enjoy complimentary soft drinks, snacks and coffee throughout the day, and complimentary wine, beer and selected spirits each evening in the Executive Lounge located on the 7th floor. The lounge also features the Thomson Boardroom, ideal for meetings or private dining for up to 14 people. At the Carlton George Hotel we've worked hard to create a comfortable and informal setting where you can make yourself at home and relax, but still experience fantastic service.

Great experience with helpful staff and Nichole in Executive Lounge providing first class service. Perhaps more expensive when compared to competitors and the £25 for late check out should be included in Exec package. Food really good and great quality

Hotel's Favourite
Why WOW you ask???? Well from booking our break with the ever most helpful Marc to being checked out by Tony we enjoyed a simply wonderful stay at this hotel where over the years we have enjoyed hospitality at its finest. I will admit to being biased towards the caring staff from the General Manager down through her amazing staff, this is due to their caring attitude shown to me during a pretty horrible illness that I had to deal with. To this our latest visit we enjoyed some lovely drinks on the balcony at windows restaurant served by the as always very attentive Nicole, our room (509) was perfect with everything we needed provided from the mini bar to the lovely Arran Aromatic soaps etc. Breakfast was better than perfect especially as our order was taken and so professionally served by none other than Monica the hotel General Manager, the food was cooked to perfection for us all, returning to the fact that the hotel GM served our breakfast I/we have stayed in hotels in many parts of the world and I can honestly say that not once have I seen a General Manager serving tables, what this tells me is that this lady doesn't just sit in her office but is more than prepared to help out her staff when needed, thank you Monica it was lovely catching up with you again and we of course look forward seeing you all again soon.

Fantastic hotel. The staff were so warm and welcoming from Tony who helped with our reservation, Asen who checked us into the hotel and made sure we had everything, Amy in the bar who made our stay special by providing a birthday surprise for my husband and Karen who checked us out and took care of our bags with we went out for lunch. The rooms were so well appointed-everything you need from hairdryer, iron and fan to Fluffy towels and slippers. The beds are amazing we had a great night's sleep, aided by the air-conditioning and blackout curtains. Not a sound was heard though the night. The roof top terrace is a hidden gem and a must !! The location is so central to all that Glasgow has to offer. We will be back!! Great value and service.

We stayed in Carlton George for a late Anniversary celebration as the first one was cancelled due to lockdown extensions. I have to say having stayed here on lots of occasions we were slightly disappointed this time. We tried to check in around 2.55pm, house keeping said our room would be available in a few minutes, fair enough, We were 5 minutes early. We were asked to go up and wait in the lounge and the nice girl behind the desk said she would come and get us. We went to the lounge and had to get someone to let us in as we hadn't been given a key card. We waited until 3.20 and went back downstairs as we had a dinner reservation for 4pm elsewhere. I met the girl who was supposedly coming to get us finishing her shift, she said "just ask at the desk, I'm sure it's ready". After another 5 minutes we were eventually given our key card and informed we would have to book a 1 hour 45 minute time slot in the club lounge, okay, but since you pay extra for free access to the club lounge from 6-10.30pm why were we not informed of this beforehand. I do understand we are in the middle of a pandemic but surely if you are unable to provide a full service thete should be some form of recompense. On a mire positive note, the room was lovely as always, mini bar was well stocked, liked the new range of Arran toiletries and the girls in the club lounge were lovely, although I have to say I felt sorry for them as there were two couples in who basically caused havoc, who, in my opinion, should have been kicked our of the Hotel. We will hopefully be back when lockdown eases and we are all able to get back to some sort of normality.

Dear Lesleygee. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. I am pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. I am sorry that there was a delay in getting your into your room and the subsequent breakdown in communication thereafter as the room hadnt been ready. It is clear, that the information had not been communicated thus leaving a delay in getting you checked in, and I also apologise for how this was dealt with. With regards to access to the Executive Lounge. In order to get the Executive Lounge back open, the only option was to introduce time slots. The regulations are that in any licence premises you can only stay for 2 hours. This also applies to the executive lounge. We are currently the only hotel in Glasgow to have their executive lounge open. Due to social distancing, we cannot operate our lounge as we have in the past. We do communicate all of this to our guests, providing we have accurate information to make contact. All of the COVID guidelines are also available on our website. I will look further into why you had not been made aware. I hope this will not deter you from using us in the future. Kind regards Monica

Stayed as my daughter was being married in Helensburgh. A big thank you goes out to Marc on reservations who was extremely helpful when I needed to change the dates three times due to Covid restrictions . All staff that we had contact with were very helpful. The takeaway breakfast we had was amazing and much appreciated due to an early start the morning of the wedding. Didn't really have much time to appreciate the facilities but what we saw we were very happy with. We will definitely be back.
