Booked room only rate, stayed on Saturday for 1 night. Allocated room 303 with view looking onto Gordon Street. Arrived at the hotel early to leave our bags and allocated hotel room early at midnight which was brilliant as check in was from 3pm. The hotel staff were very professional, friendly and welcoming. Lovely hotel. The hotel appears to of been redecorated over the last few years, hotel room clean but every time someone walked last the hotel room door it sounded like someone was trying to enter the room. This was not the case, the noise was due to the door being very old, and vibrations of someone walking past! Great location but a bit over priced and do not think it’s good value for money. Disappointed that breakfast wasn’t included in the booking as we paid quite a lot of money to stay at the hotel on a Saturday night.

Visited with £50 voucher for 2x afternoon tea. Had seen same as a deal on line for 1/2 price so presumed we would get the ‘super’ service! Have to say what we had we enjoyed but very little ‘special’ items on the plates…. Definitely extremely overpriced…. With what we had left over, we were handed a couple of paper bags and told no boxes for packing available. Once home what we have will be not worth eating. Moral of the story… get the cheap voucher and feel as if you got a bargain!! Such a shame as keen to see what we would get for £50!! More fool me

We booked Voco grand central hotel in Glasgow for just a night. We were on our scotland trip and chose this hotel as its very centrally Located -infact the back door of the hotel opens up inside the central railway station. The breakfast was decent not exceptional- Check in and Check out was quick, The hotel is centrally located. By taxi you can visit the Necropolis and George square in 10 mins.It has some good shopping and restaurants around the hotel. This hotel looks quite majestic however it definitely needs to add more customer service to it. What the hotel should upgrade? The room/hotel Lighting which is extremely dim. The elevators are very slow. Can do better. Only downside of staying here was- It had a fancy bathroom however the bath did not have hot water on that particular day and I had to take a shower in cold water while screaming my lungs out.(The reception informed us there was a technical problem) For an IHG Chain hotel trust me it can do better.

We visited in mid May…first room we were assigned was so tiny two people could not move around the bed, and we had booked a Premium room. Back to check in, took ages to find a “premium “ room”… was a bit bigger with a chair and table but not aligned with the online description. The hotel has become a site for large tour groups. On our visit one of the two small elevators was out of service and stayed that way for the three days there. There were huge lines for the elevator especially when the tour groups were checking in or out. We ended up using the stairs. Staff were friendly but facilities very lacking. Would not stay again.

Recently stayed in this historic well set hotel …walking distance to everywhere , the hotel , lovely old building that it is seems very gloomy when you walk in , not sure if it’s lighting in the foyer or what but the impression is dark , not helped by dour looking staff who behave like they’re doing you a favour , blunt , curt and unfriendly was my experience ..does hurt to smile once in a while folks …there one or two exceptions of course , the luggage porter was one ,the rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfasts good …sorry folks for three stars , you have a majestic building in a wonderful setting in a lovely city …smile , be helpful , it the hospitality industry !

Our experience at this hotel was wonderful from the moment we walked in and were handed a glass of champagne. The staff and everyone were so nice and friendly. Our room was awesome and the beds very comfortable. The location made it so easy to site see or catch a taxi right out front. They had great recommendations on restaurants and places to see. A very enjoyable place to stay.

Everything was perfect, the staff the room, the food, I was in Glasgow for a conference and the hotel being on top of the train station was perfect as there is a train service straight to the SEC where the conference was being held. Staff went out of their way to make your stay as great as it can be, The chandelier in the main staircase is stunning. I loved how well I slept I had to see what mattress was on the bed.

This hotel is worth the price. Great big room and super comfy beds. Hotel staff was fabulous especially the concierge. The decor was lovely with little bird figurines throughout. The location next to the main train station is superb. I thought it might be noisy but it wasn't. Great for walking around, lots of restaurants.

I stayed years ago when it was a gloomy Best Western, it’s a different animal now. It’s a very quiet, swish, upmarket hotel these days. Staff are very friendly and the room was superbly equipped! No issues at all apart from the glass in the bathroom door meant that the whole room lit up at sunrise ie. Very early!
