Designed by Robert Adam in 1790 and 200 years later restored and divided into six 1- and 2-bedroomed self-contained apartments, we are located in Glasgow city centre, between London Road and Glasgow Green and close by the Merchant City, giving visitors to Glasgow a spacious and private alternative to a hotel room. Each apartment has free wi-fi internet access, fully equipped kitchen, bath and shower, individually controlled electric heating and entry phone security. We have our own, free, off-street parking behind our building. We do not serve meals but each kitchen is fully equipped to provide anything from a snack to a full meal and there are many excellent and varied restaurants within a short walk.

We stayed in apartment 22 on the top floor. The previous guest was still asleep in the bed when my husband arrived. The whole place stank of her cigarette smoke. The recliner sofa was broken, though that didn't become obvious until later. The shower is worse than useless. This may be due to water pressure, but there are plenty of gadgets on the market that can improve this. Despite advertising wifi, the password provided was wrong and we had to wait for this to be resolve. Even once we had the correct password, the signal was so weak it was rendered unusable. We never did gain access to the service we were promised, leaving us unable to receive or respond to emails while at the property. We are both self-employed and being available is crucial. We were forced to deal with a number of issues and enquiries while in restaurants and bars where wifi was available. Not great when you consider that we were in these places to eat and relax. Condoms and baby wipes left in drawers. **The following complaint is rather more serious and, despite emailing Veena, property manager, on two occasions, I have yet to receive any response.** On the Saturday we were out much of the day and again in the evening. Upon our return I noticed that not a single smoke alarm was to be seen. I did however spot a plastic disc above the sitting room door and realised that this was actually the back of a battery powered smoke alarm. So I went looking for the rest of the unit and found it in the drawer. The previous guest possibly put it there to avoid setting it off while smoking. This tells me two things. Firstly the management do not properly respect the welfare of their guests; no check was made to ensure the unit was present. In short they endangered us. Were there a fire in the building we would not have been alerted to this fact and may have died as a result. Secondly they have failed to adhere to the law. The law in Scotland changed on the 1st of February 2022. Every home (and premises rented for the purpose of hosting short term guests) must now have interlinked smoke alarms. These are hardwired into the electricity and cannot be interfered with by smoking guests. If one goes off, they all go off. Failure to provide correctly installed smoke alarms is criminal negligence and I have reported the owners/management to the relevant authorities!

Was ok, nothing that special, it's niceto have space, we got a twin room, expected a double. The flat is basic, old wooden windows, broken panes in sone and very draughty. Storage heater in living room would not turn on, heater in bedroom did thankfully. Bedding clean, towels provided, no Iron that I could see. You need to pay £50 deposit for the fob for the car park, you have no direct access to house from car park, need to walk onto main road and round, so not convenient, and to get the fob to get into car park you need to get in to flat first, very fiddly. There us a lane overgrown with a gate that could be cleared to give access. For the price, I'd go elsewhere.

beautiful building, lovely owner. Very helpful as we were stitched up by another hotel. Called here got straight in. walking distance to main centre. The peoples palace is next door. we were the last day the conservatory was open to the public. rooms are big, plenty of heating and a great little kitchen. off street parking, WIFI. cant hear anyone else in the rooms. The area into town is completely safe, we took our 7 yr old in the evening. plenty of families walking around. 10pm stood at the front of the property and saw a red fox run into the grasslands across the road.

We booked a 1 bed apartment here (ground floor number 1) as we were going to a gig at the Barrowlands and it's just a short walk away. The apartment was ok, the living room was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for a quick tea and breakfast (after a quick trip to a local corner shop) The bedroom looked lovely but the bed was disappointing. Two single beds pushed together so it was big enough, but the mattress on one side was quite firm and the other side was saggy and about 2 inches lower than the other. When the main reason for looking for accommodation is a bed for the night, then the uncomfortable bed was a big let down.

Our apartment was number 11. We had originally booked for two persons but our circumstances changed and we had to include a third adult. This was approved by the owner for an additional charge of £20 per night and a third bed was provided in the lounge. We stayed for 2 nights. The apartment was located in an old building, and there was nothing elegant about it. The restoration was done very poorly, the floors creaked and the paintwork very poor with specks of paint on the windows and on the fittings like door handles and towel rails and untidy edges. Windows in the lounge did not open and window panes in the bedroom window were cracked. Thankfully, the kitchen window opened so we did get some fresh air into the apartment. WIFI did not work and when it did, it was unreliable. I had to call the owner twice ( on international call rates, yes, we did not expect to have to call when there is Whatsapp and Viber) who told us to check and test the modem, which we did several times. Half an hour later, we got a shaky connection to the WIFI (on 2 devices, see later comment) After some time, an elderly gentleman turned up at the door to check on the WIFI and informed us that WIFI was available for ONE device per apartment. Seriously? And there were 3 of us.ThIs was a totally ridiculous set -up. Had we known this, we would not have chosen to stay here, as good WIFI is a strong criteria for where we book to stay. We also asked the gentleman about how the heating worked in the apartment, as we could not get the wall heater to work in the lounge, and his reply was that it was controlled by the Power Board, really? and that it would come on around 9-10pm. That did not happen. There was an information folder, but there were no instructions found in the apartment anywhere (even though the folder said there was) on operating any of the appliances. We figured out how to use the induction cooktop, but there was one saucepan that was probably not for induction use. The washing machine detergent loader was dirty and needed a clean. Although the apartment was furnished with period furniture, we discovered one of the dining room chairs was actually broken and a safety hazard trying to pass off as fit for purpose. The beds were wobbly, some crockery were chipped or had cracklines. Kitchen utensils were of varying standards from old and rusty and badly scratched to new, but not of high quality. Provisions in the kitchen include tea, jar of coffee, sugar, cooking items like salt, pepper and oil and foil and plastic wrap. No milk and you are warned beforehand. No toiletries provided apart from handwash. Bathroom looked like it had been recently ‘renovated’, easy to use with hooks and shelves, shower was over the bath, shower spray was good but the used water did not drain quickly so use the plunger provided to clear the puddle. Apartment was not serviced, and there were no instructions on where to clear the rubbish. Location was great, within walking distance to the city. We did not use the parking. Prior to our arrival, the owner insisted on us agreeing to a list of conditions on good care of the apartment, which we were happy to do. At the same time, the apartment should meet a reasonable standard for the cost charged and be comfortable and safe for occupancy. After the first two phone calls to the owner we did not contact them again. We did not want to spend any more time during our brief stay in Glasgow on the phone. After our reading the impressive writeup on this property on the internet/website, our first hand experience made us feel it was misleading. Would not recommend. A very frustrating stay.

I stayed with my mother for one night. Veena who checked us in was OK and I paid in cash. After requesting parking when I booked I asked her about the private car park on arrival. She told me as I was leaving the following morning at 8am to just park on the street. Not ideal as I had valuables in the car and the private car park was one of the deciding factors in my choice to stay here. Apartment was spacious, big double bed which was comfortable but the bedding was far too heavy and uncomfortable for the time of year. Comfortable living area with sofa and TV. Kitchen area seemed OK but not the cleanest - we had been out for dinner so didn't cook. Tea and coffee facilities provided which we were thankful for the following morning. The main thing that let it down was the shower. Extremely poor water pressure and it took me 5 minutes to adjust the temperature to something bearable. It was £55 for one night stay as we booked last minute and considering its proximity to the city I guess I can't complain. Not sure I would return.

Was in no 11. Nice little one bedroom apartment badly let down by kitchen and bathroom. The bath has seen better days and the shower is shocking. It does not adjust and the water just runs down the tiles. The only way to have a shower is to hand hold shower head and get stuck on the shower curtain. Not ideal when we booked as we had reception to go to did not feel refreshed at all. Kitchen was a it tired and grotty. Would not want to cook in there. Would be a bit better if there were tea\coffee facilities supplied. Will not return.

We stayed in this one bedroom apartment for a couple of days. It's okay as an apartment for a few days stopover in Glasgow. Location is good, space is good but it's a bit rundown. For example, the oven door won't shut, the washing machine is broken and the shower nozzle can't be fixed to the wall and has to be hand held. You access the apartment building via a digital lock and ditto the apartment. Code numbers are given by phone when you book. There is no physical contact with the owners, all done over the phone. And it's not serviced daily. There is free offsite parking but you have to jiggle the remote/fob to get the barrier gate open. There is free wifi. A supermarket is a bit down the road. Overall, despite the above issues it's okay accomodation. However, our room did not look anything like the pink rooms beautiful portrayed on the Internet. We got a direct bus to Kelvingrove museum, about two pounds thirty pence one way. Book out is 11 am. My wife did the booking and has forgotten the price but said it was good value - something for you to check.
