The hotel was located quite close to the SSE Hydro Arena, which was good for us. It was also only a short taxi ride away from the train station. However, the hotel was as to be expected for the price you pay. The room we stayed in was very, very small. The shower, however, was a surprise and was powerful...

As soon as I walked in I had a bad feeling about the place, looked very run down. But I thought it was just for one night and I'd give it a chance. Bad move. We were given a room on the third floor up the most unsturdy stairs I've ever seen to enter our room that wasnt even level....

Just spent 2 nights at Smiths Hotel, and I was surprised. I made my booking on line in hast, and then decided to check out the previous reviews after making my booking. I was extremely worried that I had made a big error after reading the bad reviews the hotel has received in the recent past, but, and it is...

Visited Glasgow to attend a concert at the Hydro and wish we we would of travelled home! Upon arrival it was insisted the payment was made in cash only, no cash on me so had to pay once been to cash machine. Our room was on the top floor with around 6 flights of stair, no elevator. We paid extra...

Checked in 5am in the morning, got charged extra £40. And they wanted all the money in cash, the room was freezing cold, had to sleep in suit. Used Chewing gum in the sugar bowl. And used needle under the bed. Should have called the police. Worst place ever. Checked out 7am. And refuse to stay the 4 nights. TripAdvisor...

Booked on laterooms double room, not en-suite by mistake but was upgraded to en-suite F.O.C. Small room but clean and well kitted out with TV, hairdryer, kettle, tea & coffee. Very polite staff. Good english breakfast included at £30.00 all in. Fantastic value, would definitely stay again.

One positive thing: it is close to the city centre, the bus stop is at the front door. Many negative things: it didn't started well: they insisted to make me pay cash, even after I told I didn't have cash. It was freezing in the room when I get in, because the heater was not turnt on, and it took...

The room was very small and outdated. There was an outside light right above the window which was on constantly. I had to either go up or down 2 flights of stairs to use toilet or shower. Constant noise from revellers on sauchihall street which could be heard even when window was closed. Bog standard breakfast. The hotel prides itself...

Lovely listed building. Great location. Excellent breakfast, so much choice and cooked to perfection. Comfortable rooms. We stayed in a twin and both slept well, the beds were very comfortable. All in all, no complaints. Fabulous price for a city centre hotel. Will book again without a doubt.

The best thing about this hotel was the friendly staff. The first thing we noticed as we entered our room was a dirty hand print on the wall - from what I have no idea. The window wouldn't shut properly so it was draughty throughout the night. The mattress sloped towards the wall and wasn't particularly comfortable. The shower went...
